Draconian Posts New Song "Stellar Tombs"

Draconian has a new song online for streaming today titled "Stellar Tombs," which can be heard below and comes off impending album "Sovran," due out October 30, 2015. Anders Jacobsson comments:

"This track is like a storm, a storm of a life trying to re-connect to its' soul, to its' place in the Cosmos. To me it's like a cognition through this constricted, three-dimensional world and the expanded reality beyond. At the time I wrote this it was like an almost grotesque cocktail of fear and identity leading to inner depletion, but would mutate into the realization of its illusion, to a sense of peace and acceptance. Stellar Tombs is a 'spicy' song, somewhat intense and brooding, and like many other Draconian-songs the main empathy rests on a transitional phase; becoming who You are. I'd say it’s one of the more monolithic songs of the new album." More...

Draconian Recruits New Singer

After a long period of searching, gothic/doom band Draconian has finally issued a statement regarding the recruitment of South African singer Heike Langhans into its ranks. Below is the statement:

"It has been nearly a year since last we braced the stages and said our goodbyes to Lisa. We had no intent of collecting dust and taking up old man's hobbies, so we set out to find a new female singer. For a band such as Draconian, this is no easy task and quite possibly the reason it has taken what seems to be ages. We thank our friends and fans greatly for their patience and a great thanks to everyone who took the time to apply for the position. We rifled through more than a hundred applications from countries far and wide and ended up finding a suitable singer in the most unexpected country of them all."

"The Horde is pleased to announce our newest member, Heike Langhans - all the way from South Africa. She has since relocated to Sweden in order to join the band and has fit it superbly. She's a true doomster at heart and brings an even greater emotional flair to our sound. Our journey thus continues and writing for the new album has already begun. As Fall approaches, we ready ourselves for some serious rehearsal, recording and tour planning. We look forward to seeing you all out there again!"

Heike visited Lisa's flower shop and got the former Draconian singer's blessing in a message posted on the band's Facebook wall. Below is a statement that Heike has made about joining the band: More...

Draconian To Release New Album

Draconian will be releasing a new album titled "A Rose for the Apocalypse" this summer through Napalm Records. The band commented on the upcoming release:

"We are sorry for keeping the lid on during the writing and recording process of this album. It has been a quite hard route, at least for me, to get things right and in order. I guess, most art is flowing without restraint and changes during the time of its construction, and sometimes even the artist him/herself needs time to comprehend it.

"Jens Bogren of Fascination Street sprinkled his magic over the songs during the production- and mixing process and each and every song found its way. We are grateful to have such a committed producer and we can only feel blessed by the experience to once again have made another album reality at Fascination Street.

"The new album is called A Rose for the Apocalypse and deals with a vast dilemma we’re all facing as one species; the horrors and contradictions we’ve created in our ‘nature-divorced’ system. The title refers to the collapse of this structure, built by mindless human opinion. It also refers to the necessity of its demise. We are trying to capture the gloom of its realization. I don’t know if we’d want to call this a conceptual album, but most songs certainly deal with the same topic in one way or the other. I’ve reached a point in my life when my eyes remain open."

Draconian Postpones Turkish Show

Swedish gothic metallers Draconian have checked in with the following announcement about postponing their previously announced tour date in Turkey:

"Due to the volcanic eruptions the severe flight disruptions keeps us from doing the show on Thursday. The show will be postponed. The promoters has yet not responded to our former demands for this show to happen. Know that the new show-date (May 8 or 18) is NOT confirmed until we say so. Our booking agent has not given Turkey the final OK yet, yet they have made it official. The promoters are acting quite strange in handling this whole deal. To be sure of any further information, await updates shortly from me or another member of Draconian. Thank you for your patience."

Draconian also recently announced that the band is in the process of writing a new album. Additional details about the release date and album title will be announced as they are made available.

Draconian Issues Band Update

Draconian has issued the following statement about their lack of updates:

"Dear friends, we are aware things has been silent for a while, and that the possible development of the bands' progress has been kept from the limelight. There hasn't been much to tell really. Things has been standing still for a while due to different aspects and circumstances, which I guess, in after-thought, was necessary. Now, however, we are about to rise from the half-light.

"We are currently working quite diligently for Draconian to enter the second decade of this new millennium with a boost. Already, things are happening and we are doing our very best to follow up on everything we need in order for the band to stay in peoples hearts. You can expect us to ring out loud for the year to come. More to follow. Thank you for being patient and understanding."

Draconian Posts Live Video Clip Online

Draconian has posted a live video clip online, which can be viewed below. The band also issued the following statement about the clip:

"Dear friends! We'd like to share this liveclip from Rivne, Ukraine with you which turned out pretty well considering the circumstances. We'd love to have good video footage from the wonderful Kiev show as well, but unfortunately we didn't have the same possibility as with the Rivne set-up the day before.

"The gig was cool, and the arrangers were dedicated, kind and considerate. The whole Ukrainian experience was indeed unforgettable, with lots of laughs, great beer, long nights and nice dedicated people... Just as it should be! :) The organizers for this particular event wanted to immortalize the Draconian experience for their industrial town, and this is the result." More...
