Aeon Finishes Recording New Album
Sweden's Aeon has issued the following update about finishing the recording for a new album:
"We are happy to say that we are now finished with our new album 'Path of Fire.' The album was recorded at the Empire Studio in Östersund / Sweden in September 2009. Mixed at Mana Studio / S:t Petersburg, FL, USA by Erik Rutan in October 2009 (and some minor changes where made in January 2010). Mastering was done by Alan Douches for West West Side Music. All artwork and layout made by Daniel Dlimi.
"Path of Fire is probably the most intense Aeon album up to date. And with a production that sounds more organic and 'classic deathmetal' sounding rather then the nowadays typical 'supermodern, compressed right-the-fuck-out of dynamics, loudness war' production…. you are all in for a real treat. Folks…. this IS death metal!
"Needless to say, we are really happy with how the album turned out and and we can’t wait for you to get a chance to listen to it. The album will be released later this year by Metal Blade Records. More album details and release dates will be announced later on so keep your eyes open."
Aeon Parts Ways With Bassist
Swedish metallers Aeon have issued the following update about parting ways with their bassist:
"We have spoken to Victor Brandt and we have come to realize from both parts that Aeon will need more time from a bass player than he can give us. The geographical issue with having Victor living in Oslo was of course one contributing factor to this realization. Victor told us that he is not sure anymore if he can give us what we need, and he don't wanna hinder us from doing what we need to do. So we´ll thank him for his short time as a member and give a big welcome to the guy who played with us on our last gigs here in Sweden, Marcus Edvardsson (Souldrainer / Santification) whom will from now on be our new member in Aeon.
"We all know Marcus since way back and we all get along well, and last but not least he is one hell of a guy to handle the bass for us. Really heavy and distinct playing, and great stage-presence which suits us perfect."
Aeon Comments On Canceled Mayhem Show
Swedish metallers Aeon have issued the following statement about canceling their upcoming tour date with Mayhem and rescheduling a new date on their own:
"We got some bad news. The gig with Mayhem and Godphobia in Östersund 2009-11-28 has been canceled. We are still waiting for details about this. However, since the cancellation has nothing to do with Aeon, we have decided to throw you a show here in Östersund anyway. This gig has nothing to do with the Mayhem show so the tickets you may have bought for that show will be re-funded by the booking agency and this show will cost 80:- at the door. No pre-sale will be available due to the short notice. Information about refunding your Mayhem tickets will be sent thru email from the booking agency and details will be found at this location in a moment. The local black metal act Denicalis will support us this evening.
"28.11.2009 Aeon + Denicalis @ Gamla Tingshuset Östersund Price: 80:- at the door Doors open 19:00 and first band on stage 20:00 After the show, we will continue the night at Plaza for some party (18+) PS. We might treat you with a new song this evening…"

Aeon Recording New Album
Swedish metallers Aeon have issued the following announcement about recording a new album:
"1st of September, AEON once again enters the Empire Studio here in Ostersund/Sweden to record our third (yet untitled) upcoming album. As of today, we are about half way through the recording-process and it’s going exactly as planned. 10 new songs are being put on tape (hard drive) and we are pretty confident that all of you who liked our previous efforts or death metal in general will love this. When we are done tracking the songs, none other than Erik Rutan from HATE ETERNAL/ex-MORBID ANGEL at Mana Studios in Florida will be mixing the album. You may know his killer work from such bands as CANNIBAL CORPSE, NILE, VITAL REMAINS, GOATWHORE among others. We are absolutely confident that this death metal maniac will give us the mix/production we are looking for. Erik is a really great guy, an awesome studio engineer/producer, a killer musician and he really knows his death metal A/B’s. This will, without a doubt kick some serious ass.
"A note on the recording, since we recently replaced our bass player, Daniel & Zeb are handling all the bass on this album. There wasn’t enough time for Victor to learn the songs and both studios where already booked. No worries though, both Daniel & Zeb can handle a bass so this is not a problem. Once the album is finished it will be released by Metal Blade Records. No release dates are set at this point.
"Stay tuned for more details and info as this Death Metal Opus is coming to life."

Aeon Welcomes Back Former Drummer
Swedish metallers AEON have issued the following update:
"It feels like its time to make up our minds about our drummer situation. We have now decided to give Nils [Fjellström] a real second chance. We have been playing together with him for about seven weeks now since he got back home and he is showing a very strong will to make this happen.
"And what about his other bands?
"Yes, he is still playing drums in other bands and so on, but that was never the main reason we kicked him out in the first place. With some proper future planning and his strong will to make this work, we are sure it will.
"So horns up and lets welcome Nils back in the band."
AEON's latest CD, "Rise to Dominate" was released in the U.S. on September 4 via Metal Blade Records. The follow-up to 2005's "Bleeding the False" (Unique Leader) was recorded at Empire Studio and contains "twelve tracks of technical death metal," according to a posting on the band's web site. The CD was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö (EDGE OF SANITY) at Unisound Studios.
CANNIBAL CORPSE bassist Alex Webster previously stated about AEON: "AEON's musicianship is among the best in death metal, but their songwriting is what truly sets them apart. It's rare to find a death metal band that is simultaneously crushingly brutal and infectiously catchy. AEON is one of those rare bands!"
Aeon Issue Update
Sweden's AEON have posted the following update:
"We have been working really hard on finding a temporary or permanent solution to our drummer situation. There are some interesting drummers out there that we have been talking to but we have not come to any conclusions just yet."
"And speaking of drummers, we have straightened a few things out with Nils [Fjellström; drums] under the last month. He contacted us and wanted to sort a couple of things out regarding to his earlier behaviors. He is very aware of the damage he caused us and he is just sorry for how things turned out. I believe there where some personal / private issues involved that caused him to get all burned / stressed out and that eventually made him to act the way he did. We are still very disappointed in how things where handled by him, but since Nils is a very good friend of ours, we just can't stay mad at him forever." More...
Aeon Part Ways With Drummer and Seek Replacement
Swedish metallers AEON have issued the following update:
"The whole process of completing the writing of [the new AEON album] 'Rise to Dominate', as long with the booking of studio, the recording and the production of it was all planned by AEON and by Metal Blade to work out with their 25th anniversary tour in the U.S. 'Rise to Dominate' was released in the U.S. on September 4th, and the tour began on September 6th. That would have been a killer start!!!
"But after Nils [Fjellström; drums] joined DARK FUNERAL, and elected to go on their tour, and to cancel AEON's important spot on the bill of the anniversary tour with CANNIBAL CORPSE among others, it looked to us and many others that he made a big statement how he was going to prior AEON further on."
"Anyway, he did tell us after a few days that he could not live with the idea of having someone else playing the drums with AEON (which had been the discussion over these days), and we thought it was true. He had a big idea how he would plan everything and how history would not repeat itself again with canceled tours etc…" More...
