American progressive metal legends Dream Theater has posted a new trailer online for their upcoming new studio album, "Distance Over Time." You can check it out below. The record is set to be released on February 22nd through InsideOut Music.

"Distance Over Time" showcases a newfound creativity for Dream Theater while maintaining the elements that have garnered them devoted fans around the globe. The album also marks the first for the band’s new label InsideOutMusic / Sony Music.

The artwork was created by long-time cover collaborator Hugh Syme (Rush, Iron Maiden, Stone Sour). Distance Over Time was produced by John Petrucci, mixed by Ben Grosse and mastered by Tom Baker. More...

Dream Theater Posts First Track By Track Video

There is a palpable excitement level surrounding two-time Grammy-nominated and millions-selling progressive music titans, Dream Theater, and their upcoming 14th studio album, Distance Over Time, out on February 22nd via InsideOut Music.

In the new video below, John Petrucci and Mike Mangini discuss the album track, "Paralyzed":

"Paralyzed" is quintessential Dream Theater; a song that showcases the band’s unique ability to write memorable melodies backed with unique song structures and maestro-level musicianship all at a radio-friendly running time of 4:18. The song will be impacting Active Rock and Metal radio later this month. Dream Theater Reveals New Album Details

American progressive metal legends Dream Theater has announced that the name of their new album is "Distance Over Time" and fans can expect the record to drop in February, though no specific release date has been given yet. The band has also revealed the front cover artwork for the release, as well as posting a thirty second audio preview, both of which can be seen below.

In addition to this, the band has announced a string of headlining tour dates in North America, though no venues have been confirmed as of yet. The tour dates are as follows:

Dream Theater Enters The Studio

In late 2017, Dream Theater signed with Sony Music’s progressive imprint InsideOutMusic. Now, in preparation for the band’s fourteenth studio album and their first album ever produced in collaboration with this leading worldwide label, they are pleased to announce that they have entered the studio to begin the writing process.

Recently, John Petrucci and James LaBrie shared a quick video update from the writing sessions on the band’s official Facebook page (see below).

James comments: "We’ve been here for one week and it is going sensational. Everybody is in the one room… and I gotta tell you, if the first week is any indication of where this album is going, you’re in for a treat."

John adds: "There’s a lot of ideas flowing, and it’s already been really productive after only a week in. So far the music is heavy, progressive, melodic, shredding and it’s epic." More...
