Threat Signal Comments On European Tour

Threat Signal vocalist Jon Howard has issued the following statement about the band's upcoming "Threat Over Europe" tour, which also features Sybreed, Illidiance, M.A.N., and Raunchy:

"Are you ready Europe? Finally! We are flying our Canadian asses over to Europe. We've been looking forward to this moment since we started the band in 2005. We've finally made it happen and we couldn't be more excited!

"Since we didn't get a chance to tour our first record 'Under Reprisal' in Europe, we've decided we are going to include a lot of those songs in our set list. We will also be playing a few songs from our latest album 'Vigilance.'

"Raunchy and Sybreed have agreed to join us on the tour, which I'm very happy about. It’s great to play with such influential musicians and actually really enjoy watching the bands play every night. I've been a fan of these bands for years. So if you think your European asses can out drink a Canadian, come down to the show and let’s see what you got! We'll be hanging out in the crowd and it will be a party every single night. Looking forward to meeting all of you! Cheers!" More...

Threat Signal Seeking New Drummer

Shortly after the announcement of the "Threat Over Europe" European tour and after the departure of guitarist Adam Weber, Canada's premier hardcore act Threat Signal have announced the departure of drummer Norm Killeen. The band are currently seeking a replacement to fill the position.

The band commented by saying: "After three amazing years together, the THREAT SIGNAL camp has decided to part ways with drummer Norm Killeen. This was a mutual decision and there are no hard feelings towards each other. We will still continue to work with Norm's graphic design company, NME Studios. We wish you all the best with your future endeavors Norm; much love and respect. So now the drummer search begins! We're looking for someone preferably with touring experience, but if not, that's fine. We have quite a bit of dates coming up in October and November through out North America and Europe, so we're looking for someone that can really nail these songs quick and hit the road."

Threat Signal Comments On Guitarist Departure

Canada's Threat Signal recently announced the departure of guitarist Adam Weber. Threat Signal bassist Pat Kavanagh has now checked in with the following statement about the split and the band working on a new album:

"I'm going to start this update off with the good news. We're playing a week of shows with our friends in Soilwork in August. Can't wait to play with those dudes again! Check out our myspace for the dates. Also we'll have former Darkest Hour shredder and awesome dude Kris Norris filling in! So you definitely don't want to miss these shows.

"Now you may be asking yourself 'filling in?!?' yeah, onto the bad news. Here it comes again folks, there's been another casualty in TS. Adam has decided to leave us. He has some personal things he needs to work out and we wish him all the best. We're still good friends and there's plenty more beers that we'll have together so no worries. I know this sucks to hear for a lot of you and I can list off a boat load of bands that have been through the same shit we've been through. Just know it sucks hard on our side too.

"On a positive note we have a huge head start on the next record. Even have a few demos already! You'll be hearing new shit soon. So we hope to see you on the road with Soilwork, Mutiny Within and Kris Norris soon! Good times will be had by all! Now I'll leave you with this little fun game; let's see how you guys can finish this joke: How many Threat Signal guitarist's does it take to screw in a light bulb. Have fun."

Threat Signal Cancels European Tour

Canada's Threat Signal has issued the following update about canceling their upcoming European tour dates:

"To all fans and friends of Threat Signal, we sincerely regret to inform you that our 2010 European tour dates w/ (Hed) Pe & Atilla have been officially canceled. The tour will still go on; however, we will not be performing on it. We had worked very hard to make this tour even considerably possible, but due to financial difficulties we’ve had to abandon ship. We’re back thousands more dollars than we originally expected, and we’ve been struggling ever since to find affordable means of transportation. We cannot justify or even find the amount of money needed to make this tour possible for us anymore…

"Our hearts are broken, this would have been Threat Signal’s first European Tour. On the upside, we’ve had an amazing North American run w/ EPICA & Blackguard and are looking forward to confirmed dates in Canada. The more people that show their support locally will ultimately help us land these tours overseas. Even if you can’t make it out to a show you can show your TS support by purchasing some new merchandise at Kill The 8 Online Merch Store, and music from iTunes and Amazon.

"Once again, we apologize a million times over and over to our friends and fans in Europe who expected us on the tour. We’re currently working extremely hard with our agents and record label to find another tour in Europe before the year is over. We promise to make this up to those who were looking forward to seeing us live. Thank you so much for understanding our situation."

Blackguard Recaps Ensiferum Tour

Paul Ablaze of Montreal's Blackguard has checked in with the following recap of the From Afar tour, headlined by Ensiferum this past fall:

"Another tour in the Bag , Another notch on the belt , and Another round of good times were had by all.

"For a tour that seemed destined to fall apart on itself just before it's start, I believe it exceeded all expectation by a long shot. With Ex Deo pulling out for the majority of the tour and Hypocrisy having to bail all together, the future looked very bleak. But at the end of the day it was Ensiferums call to bite the bullet and pull ahead with the tour, and for that we cannot thank them enough.

"As disappointed as we were not being able to tour with those two amazing bands, their absences proved to be a blessing in disguise. Being bumped up to direct support might have been one of the best things to happen to us, and with the addition of Lazarus A.D we got to become friends with some of the most badass people we've ever met.

"Although the crowds might have been smaller overall, we got to play to more people every night and our new position on the tour certainly motivated us to step up our game.

"This tour being quite the contrast to our last tour (Summer slaughter) in pace and scale, it was a little more relaxed and offered us some more down time to breath. That being said here are some of my more memorable moments from 'from afar' More...
