Threat Signal Releases New Song

Canada's melodic thrash metal powerhouse Threat Signal today premieres the first single from fourth studio album, "Disconnect," which is set to be released on November 10th worldwide via Agonia Records.

The band's first new song in six years, "Exit The Matrix," is available in the form of a lyric video below. Founder & vocalist Jon Howard commented: "Well, we made it to album number 4! To say its been a tough ride would be an understatement, but as the shit piles on, we'll keep shoveling that shit off! So we began writing this album back in 2012, and continued writing over the next 3 years until we were able to hit the studio again.

"Basically our thought process while writing was to not have an end goal of what the album should sound like. We didn't plan to make a really heavy album, or a melodic album, or take anyone else's input on what we should sound like. We basically just wrote songs with a clear and open mindset until Disconnect grew together. This album ranges from melodic metal, to hard rock, to thrash metal, and even down to a chill acoustic tune, its a roller coaster of a ride while staying true to the Threat Signal sound.

"You will feel the energy from all of our previous albums plus something new. A big thanks to Agonia records for believing in us and finally getting this album released. Also a HUGE thanks to the fans for sticking with us over the years. I'd like to dedicate our album Disconnect to my fallen friend and former Threat Signal drummer Norm Killeen. May you be jamming with the best of them in the next life!!! Peace and love." More...

Vader Builds An "Empire" In London

Death metal is perhaps the most expansive of metal's many sub-genres. It ranges from the extremely brutal to the hauntingly melodic and often displays amazing technical ability from the musicians involved. A night full of death metal may seem a bit much for some people, but for devoted death heads, it might seem like paradise. So it was that when Vader embarked on their first headlining tour in support of their new album, "The Empire," they brought no less than four bands with them, all of which performing death metal in one form or another.

Having not seen enough of the first two bands to really comment, it's fair to start the review by discussing Canadian quintet, Threat Signal. Unfortunately, not being familiar with the group or able to find a setlist, I can't name any of the songs they performed, but every single one of them was played with a sincere energy. The group carry themselves very well, unafraid and confident about supporting two death metal legends but respectful enough not to be cocky about their clear talents. The crowd were visibly impressed too, with newcomers and doubters being won over just as much as their fans enjoyed their set. While not everyone enjoys the studio output from Threat Signal, they're a sight to behold live and a band which must be watched at least once. More...

Threat Signal Signs With Agonia Records

Agonia Records is proud to announce the worldwide signing of Canadian melodic thrash metal powerhouse, Threat Signal. The band has finished recording their long awaited fourth studio album and follow-up to the 2011 self-titled effort. The new album, "Disconnect", is scheduled for release in the first half of 2016.

Since the critically acclaimed debut offering "Under Reprisal" (2006), which won the Canadian Recording Of The Year Award at the Hamilton Music Awards, Threat Signal has became internationally recognized as one of the best modern acts in thrash metal. Their latest two installments, the intense "Vigilance" (2009) and reinvented "Threat Signal" (2011), have both met with unrelenting hype, with each entering the Billboard's Top Heatseekers Chart, at #32 and #26.

Threat Signal combines the complexity of thrash metal, with a more contemporary groove sound involving technical rhythms, and melodic musical passages. The band is led by frontman Jon Howard, who commented on the signing:

"We are very excited to have inked a deal with Agonia records. We strongly believe that Agonia will be a great partnership, and together we will push Threat Signal's music to more listeners than ever before. Our new album 'Disconnect' in my opinion is the strongest album we've recorded to date. Thank you Agonia for making this happen for us, and we look forward to the road ahead!".

More details on the band's new album will be revealed soon. More...

Threat Signal Parts Ways With Drummer

Threat Signal has checked in with the following statement about parting ways with drummer Joey Muha:

"Some may have heard these rumors already, but now its time to clear the air. A few months ago we parted ways with our drummer Joey Muha.

"There were ongoing issues between him and another band member, so the situation needed to be resolved before the band could continue. We unfortunately came to the conclusion Joey had to be let go. We wish him the best, and hold no hard feelings.

"On a positive note, our great friend Andrew Minarik filled in for the recording of our newest album, which is currently being mixed by Mark Lewis of Audiohammer studios. Andrew will not be a full time member due to other commitments, but has been kind enough to lend us his hands and legs for the recording and promotion of the album. With that said, we will be looking for a new touring drummer which could potentially turn into a full time position.

"Andrew will be filming this Friday for a new Threat Signal video. He has put together a cool giveaway contest, a live stream link for the music video, and will be doing some Q&A. Check out the video below for more info on that!" More...
