Swedish Heavy Metal tyrants Ram make a return with their third album "Death," to be released January 27th/30th, 2012 via Metal Blade Records in Europe. In collaboration with Rock Hard Germany, Ram has now launched a video clip for the brand new song "Flame Of The Tyrants," which can be viewed below.
Comments Ram: "Filming the video for Flame of the tyrants was a very cool and almost surreal experience, we filmed it in an abandoned sandquarell outside of Gothenburg. We wanted that Mad Max II feeling to it and I think we accomplished that. We had a great time on set and on behalf of RAM I would like to thank the Mad Ram gangers and everybody involved for making our vision come to life in such a brilliant manner!"

Metal Blade Records announced that it has signed Swedish traditional metal artists RAM. The band is set to release "Death" in early 2012. Other information on the "Death" release can be found at this location.
The full announcement from Metal Blade reads:
"Metal Blade is proud to announce the signing of one of the leading forces in Swedish Heavy Metal, RAM!
"Comments RAM: 'We are very pleased and proud to sign with a metal label that has done so much for Heavy Metal and has such an amazing legacy. We are also very pleased to become labelmates with our good friends and fellow Swedish old school headbangers Portrait and In Solitude. Now with the Blade of metal behind our backs the conquest of demolition continues! HEAVY METAL TYRANNY!'
"RAM was created back in '99 and released their first E.P 'Sudden Impact' in 2003. After playing numerous festivals and a support tour for Sebastian Bach they released their first longplayer 'Forced Entry' in late 2005 which brought the entire old school Heavy Metal community to its knees. RAM hit the road with Dark Tranquillity, did some Scandinavian shows with Gamma Ray and played gigs and festivals all over Europe.
"In 2008 the band returned to the studio with producer Johan Reivén to record the album 'Lightbringer' which was released in 2009 via AFM Records. This time they really took the time to explore the true heavy metal sound. The recording of the album took 10 months of nothing but strife for pure Heavy Metal perfection. RAM also headed out on a headline European tour to promote the album.
"In 2011 RAM went back into the studio to record their third album 'Death.' This time they worked with producers Per Stålberg and Olle Björk to create their best album to date by far. Live shows as support for Swedish extreme black metal band Watain followed as well as destroying some festivals.
Metal Blade and the World tremble in fear before the early 2012 release of the Metal behemoth that is 'Death.' "
Gothenburg, Sweden metal act RAM has revealed the track listing for its upcoming new album. The album, simply titled "Death," will feature ten all new tracks of which the titles can be found below.
2. ...Comes From The Mouth Beyond
3. I Am The End
4. Release Me
7. Under The Scythe
9. Flame Of The Tyrants
10. 1 7 7 1
Ram has issued the following announcement about the title of the band's upcoming album:
"The new Ram album will be called 'Death.' Ram has not yet signed any deal for the release of 'Death,' but negotiations continue, a release this fall is planned. Ram's upcoming album 'Death' will feature a guest appearance by Swedish multiartist Freddie Wadling who has had a very successful solo career as well as played with Swedish Cult acts as The Leather Nun, Blue for two and Fläskkvartetten.
"Ram will release a 7 inch vinyl single through German label High Roller Records entitled 'Under the Scythe' on the 13'th of May 2011. The song will be featured on RAM's upcoming album 'Death.' The B side will contain a cover version of Mercyful fate's song 'Evil' from their classic 1983 album 'Melissa.' The song is a 'duet' with Oscar Carlquist and Hellbutcher from Swedish cult black metal band Nifelheim, dont expect Hellbutchers vocals to be anything near what he does in Nifelheim."
Vocalist Oscar Carlquist of Ram has issued the following announcement about the band's upcoming album:
"The yet untitled new RAM album has been mastered by Dragan Tanaskovich at Bohus Recordings and is ready for release. RAM are currently in negotiations with a number of record companies concerning the release of the new album.
"Again we are pushing the envelope of the RAM sound, this album differs quite a bit from our 2009 release 'Lightbringer,' the sound is rawer and has a strong nerve and honest live like feel but still it is extremely powerful it was produced by me and Harry Granroth (guitars) and Per Stålberg and Olle Björk and recorded at Welfare Studios here in Gothenburg, Dragan Tanaskovich is also a huge part of this by contributing massive power in the mastering process.
"Songwise we are showing new sides of the band, the album is a 10 song sonic roller coaster displaying an array of different styles, emotions tempos and agressions but all within the concept of traditional Heavy Metal of course. In all honesty I can't choose one single song that is representative of the sound of the album as a whole. We are really pleased with this album that feels like a really cool direction to take from Lightbringer and we can't wait to blast these new song live!"
Swedish metal act Ram has issued the following brief update about mixing the band's new album, which is set to be released early next year:
"RAM has entered Welfare Sound Studios, Gothenburg, Sweden to mix the new album. A release is planned for early 2011. The previous 2009 release 'Lightbringer' will finally be released as a vinyl edition through High Roller Records in January 2011."

Swedish tradiontal-ish metal band RAM has entered the studio to record their next full-length album. The short, but informative, statement on the band's MySpace page reads as follows:
"RAM enter the studio to record new album. The new album will be recorded in Welfare Sounds Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden. A release is planned for early 2011."
The band's previous full-length, "Lightbringer," was a good piece of work and more of the same is hoped for by legions of heavy metal fanatics.
Swedish metal band Ram has issued the following statement about having a release party for their new album on June 12th at Tyrolen in Bladinge, Sweden:
"The official Lightbringer release party will be held at Muskelrock festivalen after RAM's concert. RAM will hit the stage at 01.00 and directly after the show we will indulge in extreme Dionysian Heavy Metal festivities. Many surprises await the bold Headbangers that will attend this decadent party"
Swedish metal band Ram has issued the following update about "Lightbringer," their upcoming album:
"Compared to 'Forced Entry' the 'Lightbringer' album is a step in manydirections for us. Forced Entry was a very straight forward (in RAM terms) Heavy Metal album, Lightbringer is more concept orientated and it displays an array of different themes that are noticeable in songwriting, lyrics and throughout the production.
"Including a horror mantra that features Mexican poet Adelaida Caballero performing one of her profound, surrealistic and magick poems, this album offers hard and heavy but quite unorthodox Heavy Metal songs that feature many twists and different parts, along with melancholic and very melodic pieces. E from the infamous Black Metal band Watain is featured on one track which is A Modern Heavy Black Metal track and he lays down some Sinister vocals indeed. Something as unusual as a metal horror opera, 'The Elixir' features a macabre tale in vein of Edgar Allan Poes work. Our most epic track to date and also the longest RAM song ever recorded is a song about the Battle at Suomussalmi in 1939 during the Finnish winter war."
