THE CURSED/ex-HADES guitarist Dan Lorenzo has issued the following update:
"This Saturday night [November 24] I'm on at 10:00 p.m. on 'The Metal Collection' with Rockin' Ron on Arrow 95.9 FM in Panama City, Florida, then at 11:00 p.m. EST you can hear me on 'The Classic Metal Show'. You can hear that at www.cmsradionetwork.com. I'm not sure what Rockin' Ron wants to talk about, but I have a pretty good idea why I was asked to come on 'The Classic Metal Show' this Saturday! You can also hear my songs '1974', 'PHD. in Cleveland', 'Too Fast For Hate' and 'Keep It Together' in the new adult movie 'Punk'd Your Ass' by Matt Zane out now. The visuals are better than my music!"
Dan Lorenzo recently issued a statement in response to SEVEN WITCHES mainman Jack Frost, who slammed Lorenzo for allegedly "talking a lot of shit" about him and "putting a lot of shit on the Internet" about him "for no reason whatsoever."
An e-card for the debut album from THE CURSED — the new band featuring vocalist Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth (OVERKILL) and former HADES guitarist Dan Lorenzo — is available at this location. Entitled "Room Full of Sinners", the CD was released on June 26 via Screaming Ferret Wreckords. The album was completed at Crystal Studios in New Jersey, before and after OVERKILL's successful stint on the Gigantour, which also featured MEGADETH and LAMB OF GOD. Mike Koenig from Crystal Studios engineered.
THE CURSED made its live debut on May 20 at the Highline Ballroom in New York City. Also appearing on the bill were former ANTHRAX singer Joey Belladonna and THE SCHOOL OF ROCK ALL-STARS (playing a set of metal classics by METALLICA, IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST, KING DIAMOND and SLAYER).
SEVEN WITCHES mainman Jack Frost has slammed THE CURSED/ex-HADES guitarist Dan Lorenzo for allegedly "talking a lot of shit" about him and "putting a lot of shit on the Internet" about him "for no reason whatsoever." Speaking to "The Classic Metal Show", Frost stated, "The guy [Dan Lorenzo] is a douchebag and a shitty guitar player, and I hope he hears this finally. He talks a lot of shit about me to people. So I just want to say this: Dan Lorenzo is a douchebag."
He continued, "Dan talks a lot of shit about me, and he puts a lot of shit on the Internet about me for no reason whatsoever. I've always been nice to this guy, dude, and he really ripped me apart to a lot of people for no reason. That's why I'm pretty disgusted with him. I just don't like the guy anymore. I wish he would say it to my face that he doesn't like me. I'd be cool with that. Alan [Tecchio, current SEVEN WITCHES vocalist who previously played with Lorenzo in both HADES and NON-FICTION] is an amazing singer, and I'm tired of people putting him down. That's kind of like...I'm pretty annoyed with what Dan's been saying about me, to be honest with you. I never talk shit about people, ever. But this is the first time that I've had enough of, you know...it got back to me pretty bad. . . He's saying that I'm a shitty guitar player. I don't know what I'm doing. I'm terrible. I'm a joke. I'm a joke in the industry."
Dan Lorenzo has released the following statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET in response to Jack Frost's comments:
"This morning, for the first time, I heard what Jack had said about me on 'The Classic Metal Show' this weekend. I was surprised and figured he must have me confused with somebody else. Jack said I 'put a lot of shit on the Internet' about him. Perhaps I don't know how to use Google properly...but I can't find ANYTHING I've said about him! Jack also said 'Dan is a shitty guitar player, and I hope he hears this FINALLY'... so I guess Jack has been saying that for awhile for me to hear! Who knew? The more I think about it... he's RIGHT! I am a shitty guitar player! I was NEVER into technical players. I consider myself a songwriter and a mediocre guitar play who has his own style.
"The ONLY thing I can ever remember saying about SEVEN WITCHES was that it's not my style of music and that I had heard a few songs off their last album and I thought Alan sang much better than the reviews would have had me believe.
"I know Jack was a big fan of NON-FICTION. Somebody told me that perhaps Jack is upset that Alan and I are on speaking terms again.
"I'd be MORE upset about Jack accusing me of things I've never said, but I'm just so happy to see my name in the news in ANY capacity! Jack, next time PLEASE mention www.DanLorenzo.net and/or www.the-cursed.net."

The video for "Evil, in the Bag" will be serviced to all online outlets, with MTV2's Headbanger's Ball having expressed positive feedback to multiple spins.
Songs from "Room Full of Sinners" include:

10. Queen of the Down
11. Generate Her
The band's lineup consists of:
Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth - vocals (from Overkill)
Dan Lorenzo - guitar (from Hades)

The Cursed have now finished recording their debut album form Screaming Ferret Wreckords entitled "Room Full Of Sinners." The band features Overkill frontman Bobby 'Blitz' Ellsworth, former Hades guitarist Dan Lorenzo, bassist Job The Raver (Murder 1) and drummer Mike Cristi (Non-Fiction).
Neil Turbin (ex-ANTHRAX) and Alan Tecchio (ex-HADES, WATCHTOWER) are the two vocalists currently in the running for the vacant singer slot in SEVEN WITCHES, according to informed sources. Both vocalists recently appeared on SEVEN WITCHES guitarist Jack Frost's upcoming solo CD, "Out in the Cold", tentatively due in September (Turbin can be heard on "Crucifixation", while Tecchio appears on "Hell or High Water"). Other singers that have lent their pipes to the CD include Terry Ilous from XYZ ("Out in the Cold"), and Ted Poley of DANGER DANGER (cover of APRIL WINE's "Sign of the Gypsy Queen" and "Wasted Love").
Vocalist James Rivera (HELSTAR, DISTANT THUNDER) quit SEVEN WITCHES in April in order to focus on his other projects.
In related news, BRONX CASKET COMPANY — which features in its ranks Frost and OVERKILL bassist D.D. Verni — recently shot a video for the track "Little Dead Girl" from their forthcoming album, due later in the year via Regain Records. The animated video for the upbeat-yet-haunting song is said to be in the style of Tim Burton's work, featuring dark but very tongue-in-cheek characters and imagery.
Ascending from the infamous blast furnaces of the death metal stronghold of Florida, Divine Empire are already planning their next sonic live assault. Having just returned from their successful tour with the legendary Bay Area thrashers of Testament, the new divine bomb raid over the old world already lies ahead. Don't miss the emperors of dark and disdainful death metal, joining forces with the Polish war machinery of Vader, the Greek diabolical force of Hades, Rotting Christ, as well as Anorexia Nervosa and Lost Soul.

Former HADES guitarist Dan Lorenzo sent the following message to BLABBERMOUTH.NET:
"So I'm sitting in South Beach on vacation and I see word is out that my friend Ron Lipnicki is now playing drums for OVERKILL. I'm reading the posts and steam is coming out of my ears.
"First off...I won't get into why Tim [Mallare] is not currently on tour with them. I'll let Blitz [OVERKILL singer] and DD [Verni, OVERKILL bassist] answer that.
"Blitz told me last Friday that they needed a drummer so I recommended the best drummer in metal — Ron Lipnicki. Ron didn't even have a pasport until yesterday, the day he left for his first European tour.
"Trust me, though — Ron pisses on just about anybody you've seen play drums. He's not good...he's on another level. He hits harder and has better timing than 90 percent of the top-name drummers.
"A couple years ago after Ron went through his first five days in a row of chemotherapy, he told me he wanted to jam! This kid is one tough motherfucker. He's a super-nice kid too, cancer free for two years. Go see him play...then you tell me who you think is better on drums than Ron."
Former HADES drummer Ron Lipnicki will be joining OVERKILL on their upcoming European tour, which kicks off this Friday (May) in Vosselaar, Belgium. It is presently unclear if Lipnicki will be joining the band as the permanent replacement for Tim Mallare, who originally came into the group prior to the recording of 1993's "I Hear Black".
OVERKILL are continuing to tour in support of their "ReliXIV" album, available now on Eagle Rock/Spitfire Records.
New York-based metal band Havochate, now featuring former Testament bassist Greg Christian, have announced the addition of drummer Ron Lipnicki (ex-Hades) to the group's ranks.
Havochate are scheduled to release their sophomore effort before the end of the year in Europe and January 2005 in the U.S. The follow-up to last year's "This Violent Earth", which was released through Root Of All Evil Records, was recorded at Pyramid Sound Recording Studios in Ithaca with producer Alex Perialas (Testament, Anthrax, Overkill). Handling the drums on the upcoming CD is former Testament/Slayer member Jon Dette (who has since left the band and has been replaced by a returning Ovie Rodriguez). In addition to Christian, the as-yet-untitled effort will mark the recording debut with the group of new frontman Tim Bouchee, who was brought into the fold last year after the departure of vocalist Jon Mallek.
Havochate will make their next live appearance on Tuesday, October 26 at CBGB in New York City.
Defunct U.S. metallers Hades have finalized a deal with Mausoleum Records to re-release the group's first two albums, "Resisting Success" (1987) and "If At First You Don't Succeed" (1988), in one package.
Commented vocalist Alan Tecchio: "This is a great opportunity for us since we still get e-mails requesting both of the first two Hades CDs. This demand of the fans is the reason we rereleased them back in the '90s (on a limited run on our own label). Those pressings like the originals, also sold out so it's been a long time now that this music has been unavailable. Hopefully this double CD will meet that need and give the fans a bit extra in the way of liner notes and other art." Added guitarist Dan Lorenzo: "I am also speaking with Mausoleum about the European release of my two solo CDs, 'Cassius King' and my new one, 'Nice Being Alone', which are both now available through my web site, www.DanLorenzo.net. Monster Records have also informed me they are still planning on releasing old HADES demos (as a CD/double gatefold vinyl LP) with original vocalist Paul Smith at some point down the road."
Metal Blade recording artist Ed Fuhrman of Hades has a new band, Ten Ton Truck. They've just finished recording a demo and are shopping for a label. To find out more about the band and hear some samples, visit their website at www.Ten-Ton-Truck.com.
Former Hades guitarist Dan Lorenzo has sent us the following update on the recording progress of his upcoming solo CD:
"Last Sunday while it was snowing in Jersey, I was at Crystal Studios and recorded 6 more songs for my upcoming solo CD. If you go to www.DanLorenzo.net you can listen to two rough mixes, 'Frozen Planet' and 'Dan Zig Hates X-Mas'. Johnny Milnes played drums. Former Hades drummer Ron Lipnicki couldn't get to the studio because of the snow, but I'm recording 5 more songs with him soon (including 'Hotter Than Hell' by Kiss) and then the CD will be finished. Jimmy Schulman played bass on 'Frozen Planet' and I played bass on the rest. Alan Tecchio (Non-fiction, Hades, Watchtower) is going to sing on one of the songs Ron plays on. I'm going to finish mixing the CD in early January and release it right away. I'm losing sleep because I'm so jazzed about singing lead for the first time plus I'm going to have a 15-song CD that I only had 2 band rehearsals for. Jim Florentine from Crank Yankers may also make an appearance on the disc I'm calling Dan Lorenzo 'Cassius King'. It should be out no later than the first week in February and will initially only be available via my website."
