Light This City Comments From The Studio
Bay Area thrash revivalists Light This City are currently in the studio recording the follow-up to 2005's 'Remains of the Gods,' a record that received rave reviews in metal press, and landed as #27 on Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles' "Brave Picks 2005 - Top 66" year-end list.
"So we are in our third week of recording and we are currently tracking vocals and lead guitars," drummer Ben Murray says. "Everything is coming along great and the songs are sounding epic! Expect 'Remains of the Gods,' but more brutal, yet more intricate and melodic at the same time. We are extremely excited about hearing the finished product and playing these songs live when the album is released in August or September."
Returning producer Zack Ohren (Animosity, All Shall Perish) is with the band at Castle Ultimate Studios in Emeryville, CA for recording, while Mario Garza (Hell Within, He Is Legend) of Robot Plague will be handling artwork again, having already crafted the art for 'Remains of the Gods.' Meanwhile, The Black Dahlia Murder vocalist Trevor Strnad will make a guest vocal appearance on one of the forthcoming songs.
Light This City will also make an appearance at the 8th Annual New England Metal and Hardcore Festival on Sunday, April 30 alongside labelmates Byzantine, Cannae, Through The Eyes of the Dead, The Acacia Strain, and Wolf. The band will also appear at the First Annual California Metalfest in San Bernadino with labelmates Reflux.
