Norway's She Said Destroy has posted a new studio recording blog online. Excerpts from the blog follow:
"Today is when the distorted guitars happened, a high point for me as I am in many ways similar to Macaulay Culkin in the 'Black and White' video. Only much, much less cute. There is something primitively satisfying in cranking up a big amp as loud as you want. We had a few good references to compare our sound to, and after a lot of tweaking and crawling around with microphone stands we finally ended up with the massive, roaring sound that we wanted. The one that we have been geekily talking about for the last six months, possibly while wearing unfashionable clothes and being very, very uninteresting to non-guitarists.
"The day also saw us recording some bass overdubs, mostly effects. We thought it was a good idea to hook up all the fuzz pedals and amps that we had, and have DC play through it all at the same time. It sounded pretty awesome. Another mic blown. My rhythm guitars are all done now, which is nice. We are now completely on schedule, which has probably never happened in the history of recording music, but I'm sure I can do something about that tomorrow, when I am doing all the clean guitars. "SHE SAID DESTROY will enter the studio to record their sophomore album in February. A new guitar player is needed shortly thereafter as we hope to make a hasty return to the live arena."
"Since we're in the business of extreme underground music, there's not much to gain economicaly by playing with us." More...
Guitarist Anders "Ugmod" Bakke of the Norwegian extreme metallers SHE SAID DESTROY has issued the following update:
"We more or less finished writing our next album this summer and since then we've been rehearsing the songs. That's the reason for lack of updates and the rather sparse amount of gigs we've had over the summer. We've gone underground to focus. This is a strive for perfection, people, and its looking good so far. Drummerboy Torris is putting his magic touch on drum arrangements these days and we're stoked at what he's coming up with. The plan is to record in the beginning of the New Year, again with our favourite studio magician Marius Strand. As for the release of this thing, we're not sure just when or how that'll happen, seeing as we're free agents at the moment. We have settled on an album title already, though: 'This City Speaks in Tongues'."
SHE SAID DESTROY's debut album, "Time like Vines", was released in Europe in April 2006 via Nocturnal Art Productions.
If you are heading to the Inferno Festival this year and need something to do in Oslo on Wednesday April 4th, She Said Destroy is throwing a party at Elm Street Rock café with labelmates Manngard. Special guests include Diskord.

Metal Hammer Germany declared it demo of the month, and Metal Hammer U.K. gave it 8 out of 10 points, stating, "This is heavy fucking metal, not Paris Fashion Week!"

The festival is a two-day showcase of extreme black, death and grind metal bands. Bands on the bill include Tsjuder, Myrkskog, Svartahrid, Grand Alchemist, Framferd, Draugstafur, Mindgrinder, and She Said Destroy. You can find more infromation and buy t-shirts for the fest at hammerslagfestival.net
In the coming days, we'll be bringing you several interviews with the bands on that bill.

Guitarist Anders "Ugmod" Bakke of the Norwegian extreme metal thrashers SHE SAID DESTROY has posted the following message on the group's web site:
"Our [debut] record is finally finished. We were in Stockholm and mastered it at Peter In de Betou's Tailor Maid studio this week. This guy has worked with MESHUGGAH, NASUM, DARK FUNERAL and more, and he had gold and platinum TRAZAN & BANARNE records hanging on his wall. Legend. Now we're just waiting for the artwork to be finished, courtesy of Trine & Kim. Can't wait to see what they've come up with. Be sure to check out their earlier work on this website: www.trineogkim.no. We'll get back to you with a tentative release date soon.
"Don't forget that we’re playing in Tønsberg at Rivals Pub with labelmates MINDGRINDER on Dec 16. This evening will kick off the Hammerslag Festival that takes place on Dec 17. It might be that we get to play a show outside of Norway in late December, but since it hasn’t been confirmed yet I'll have to hold back the announcement.
"Just went to see [the Canadian heavy metal documentary] 'Metal: A Headbanger's Journey' yesterday. It was a real cool documentary and I recommend that you all go see it or buy it when it comes out on DVD (I believe DVD will have shitloads of extras). Finally a documentary that touches upon most things metal in 1.5 hours in a reflective manner.
"After the screening I had a chat with Sam Dunn and Scott McFadyen who've made the movie. Nice dudes. Check out their website for info on where you can see the film: www.metalhistory.com." More...
No doubt you've noticed the Hammerslag Festival logo on our home page. But now I can announce that Metalunderground.com is an official sponsor of Norway's Hammerslag Festival. The festival, which is to take place on December 16 and 17, 2005, is a two-day showcase of extreme black, death and grind metal bands. Sponsorship of the Hammerslag festival fits with Metalunderground.com's mission of promoting underground heavy metal.
The two-day extreme metal festival, in its second year, takes place in Norway's oldest city, Tønsberg (est. 871). Friday night's show will be held at Rivals Rockpub and Saturday's will in an old church built in 1857. The festival boasts more than nine confirmed bands including Tsjuder, Myrkskog, Svartahrid, Grand Alchemist, Framferd, Draugstafur, Mindgrinder, and She Said Destroy with more in negotiations.
"The Hammerslag Festival is the ideal metal festival for Metalunderground.com to announce its first sponsorship deal with," said Metalunderground.com owner Doug Gibson. "With our large American readership, there is not a more fitting genre of metal to bring to their attention than Norwegian black metal. Every reader that discovers a new metal band that they like through Metalunderground.com reinforces why I started this website in the first place."
"Promotion of this event to an American audience benefits Hammerslag Festival, the Norwegian Extreme Metal Scene, and metalheads alike," said the festival's organizer, Bjørn Almar Rolstad Johansen. "The bands as well as the experience of a black metal festival at the old church are quite special as well, considering the theme of the fest."
Tickets for the Hammerslag Festival can be purchased through Ticketmaster at http://www.ticketmaster.no/html/browse.htmI?l=EN&TOUR=HAMMER
