Orange Goblin Announces North American Shows

With Orange Goblin's "Back From The Abyss" full-length now three weeks away from release, the band has confirmed the first North American tour in support of the record.

Set to begin December 1st and run through December 21st, Orange Goblin will return to the stage touring alongside Down, Bl'ast!, and labelmates King Parrot!

Vocalist Ben Ward comments, "I remember being a spotty 19 year old rushing out to the record store to buy the first Down album NOLA the very day it came out in 1994. Now, twenty years on, I have to pinch myself to make sure I'm not dreaming that Orange Goblin are heading back to North America as main support to the mighty Down.

"It really is fairytale stuff for us. Down are one of the bands that are the reason Orange Goblin exists. To be given this opportunity to go out to promote our brand new album, Back From The Abyss, to the Down fans is just a dream come true the rest of the band and I can't wait to get started. The fact that we also get to see Bl'ast and King Parrot every night just makes it all so hard to believe! Hail the Leaf! Hail the RIFF! Hail DOWN!"

Recorded earlier this year, "Back From The Abyss" reunites Orange Goblin with producer Jamie Dodd; who served as producer on the band's best selling album in North America to date - 2012's "A Eulogy For The Damned." More...

Orange Goblin Comments On Upcoming Album

Orange Goblin will release "Back From The Abyss" this coming October 7th via Candlelight Records, and today front man Ben Ward comments on the release:

""Back from the Abyss" is the sound of Orange Goblin firing on all cylinders! From the Sabbathian, weighty-groove of 'Sabbath Hex,' the Motorhead-styled punk snarl of 'The Devil's Whip,' the epic, Maiden-esque gallop of 'Mythical Knives,' through to the apocalyptic doom of 'The Shadow Over Innsmouth;' this is the best of all of our individual influences pulled together. We have created the definitive Orange Goblin album.

"Following the great, worldwide reception of 'A Eulogy For The Damned' and the subsequent 2 years of touring everywhere, we knew we had a lot to live up to. But we were prepared and entered the studio armed with an arsenal of killer riffs! They are all present on this album, continuing the Orange Goblin trend of never being afraid to move forward or trying something new. By doing so we have created a unique, heavy sound that lies somewhere between doom, stoner, classic metal, 70's inspired heavy-rock, punk, blues and everything in between.

"We worked with producer Jamie Dodd at The Animal Farm in London again as he did such a great job on the last record and I think he has even gone one better this time around! Adding Jamie’s amazing production to the outstanding performances and songwriting of the band, we have made an album we are all very proud of.

"Our last album gave the band new life and sent us off into the unknown. This new album sees Orange Goblin stretching the limits once more.........Back from the Abyss and ready to rock all over again!!" More...

Orange Goblin Reveals New Album Details

Candlelight Records today confirms October 7th as the North American release date for Orange Gobline's new album, "Back From The Abyss."

Recorded earlier this year in London, the album reunites the band with producer Jamie Dodd. It was mastered at Turan Audio in late July. The album will be available for pre-order via iTunes and Amazon beginning August 26th.

Loudwire.com is celebrating the announcement with an exclusive North American stream of the album’s first single, "The Devil’s Whip." Stream the track right here.

Vocalist Ben Ward says: “this song is a real old-school banger stuffed full of riffs, sleaze, filth, and speed… just like the best metal should be! It’s Motorhead-style, outlaw-biker rock in all its glory, destined to get heads banging, fists pumping, drinks flowing and asses shaking. If you don’t find yourself breaking the speed limit to this song, desperate to find the roughest bar in town, start a fight and spending the night in a cell, then you are quite clearly already dead. Let’s ride, let loose, let’s rip… that’s right, you can’t escape The Devil’s Whip.” More...

Orange Goblin And Winterfylleth To Play Damnation

English stoner rock band Orange Goblin is the latest name to be added to the 10th anniversary Damnation Festival bill.

Orange Gobline will be joined by black metal quartet Winterfylleth and post-punk outfit October File, with both bands airing material from new albums at Leeds University Union on Saturday, November 1st.

The trio of new additions bolster an impressively eclectic line-up which already boasts Bolt Thrower's only U.K. appearance, a Cannibal Corpse headline set and St. Vitus performing "Born Too Late" in full.

Orange Goblin said: "Over the last few years, Damnation has cemented itself into one of the UK's leading metal festivals, so it is a great honour to be asked back to play for a second time.
"It is already a great line up of bands, and we can't wait to be part of it."

Winterfylleth added: "We are proud to announce we will be playing Damnation Festival once again in 2014. The response we had in 2012 was mind blowing and we hope to see you all there once again. Damnation is a festival we always attend as fans regardless of playing and a must for all serious metal fans. We have a new album out a few weeks before the festival, so will be playing some exclusive new material for the first time on the day.”

October File also comments: "We are over the moon to be playing what is becoming one of the most important and special events in the UK. Damnation has worked hard to forge a name that is a must for fans and underground talent."

The line-up for Damnation Festival so far includes: Bolt Thrower, Cannibal Corpse, Saint Vitus, Raging Speedhorn, Orange Goblin, Anaal Nathrakh, Ahab, Revocation, Solstafir, Winterfylleth, H A R K, October File, Bast, Atlantis and Corrupt Moral Altar, with many more bands to be announced across four stages. Orange Goblin Re-Issuing "Healing Through Fire"

Candlelight Records today confirms June 10th as the North American release date (May 26th European) for "Healing Through Fire."

Produced by Mark Daghorn, the re-issue includes two live bonus tracks taken from the band’s studio performance at BBC’s famous Maida Vale studio in London for the Radio One Rock Show in August 2007. The album will be available for pre-order via ITunes beginning May 20th and is available for physical pre-order now at Candlelight’s official web store.

Originally released in 2007, "Healing Through Fire" was issued via Sanctuary Records. The album closed a 3 year recording gap for the band and would be the only album the quartet would release for Sanctuary.

Talking with The Aquarian Weekly’s JJ Koczan in 2011, vocalist Ben Ward noted, “it would have been nice to play for our US fans and promote Healing Through Fire, but for some reason or another, it just never materialized.” Orange Goblin would not return to America until 2011; the tour put together to promote the release of a limited 5 CD box set released by Rise Above/Metal Blade Records. It was during The Aquarian Weekly interview that Ward enthusiastically said, “we’re finally going to get the opportunity to play the material from Healing Through Fire for American audiences. We’re going to go out and play four or five songs off that record for the crowd.” More...

Orange Goblin Posts Album Update

British heavy metal veterans Orange Goblin have posted a message online regarding the writing process of their new, as-yet untitled album, which will be their first since 2012's, "A Eulogy For the Damned." The message reads as follows:

"Things are going very well in the rehearsal studio and the new album is starting to take shape. We have 4 songs that are pretty much done, just need fine tuning with lyrics etc and we have the skeletons of another 5 or 6 that we are still working on and fleshing out. It's heavy, it's groovy, it's trippy and it's very interesting so far!

"A few working titles for songs we have so far (these are not 100% set in stone yet):

"SABBATH HEX
THE DEVILS WHIP
BLACK WEED
THE SENTINEL

"More news soon!"
