Royal Hunt Unveils More Album Details
Danish progressive act Royal Hunt has announced that the band's new album "Show Me How To Live" will be released on November 29th, 2011 (North America) and December 2nd, 2011 (EU) via Frontiers Records.
As a companion to the new album release, Frontiers Records is also issuing a double DVD entitled “Future Coming From the Past." This makes widely available two very rare items which were only released in Japan. The first DVD is entitled “1996” and was recorded live in Japan just after the release of the band's "Moving Target” album. The second DVD "Paradox - Closing the Chapter" was recorded in 1998 and marked the end of the original DC Cooper era for Royal Hunt.
Royal Hunt founder and keyboardist Andre Andersen commented on rejoining with DC Cooper, the American singer who sang on the band's two most successful releases "Moving Target" and "Paradox":
“We started chatting on Skype from time to time and that’s how the idea of doing on a mini tour came about. After playing some shows we realized that the chemistry was still there and we decided to continue. The new songs are continuing right from where we left it in the first place, so far it sounds great. It will have some qualities of our previous albums 'Moving Target' and 'Paradox', but you can certainly expect some cool updates and new twists!”

Royal Hunt Signs To Scarlet Records
Danish power metal band Royal Hunt has posted the first song, "Shadowman," from their upcoming new album "X." Listen to the song on their MySpace page.
Royal Hunt has also recently signed a deal with Scarlet Records for the European release of their new album ‘X.’ Keyboardist André Andersen comments on the new album, “This album came out of our love for the 70´s music (tagged as Classic Rock nowadays) – from Kansas, Genesis and ELP to Uriah Heep and Deep Purple - music which was/is very adventurous while just a tad naïve at the same time (as some might say). We all are notoriously resistant to categorize it in any way, form or shape, but (if hard pressed) would go as far as saying that it’s definitely much more hard rock than metal and if by ‘progressive’ you might mean some odd time signatures here and there as well as random key changes – sure, there’re tons of them here… as well as really basic, simple stuff – so go figure.” The album will be released in June 2010 and “If you’re into pre-MTV, pre-computer/digital but pure quality rock – this thing’s been tailor made for you!"

He asked me to write and sing on his new solo album, and I was very excited. Now, we are in the midst of the recordings and I must say this is some of the absolute best music I have ever made to date!"
Vocalist Lance King (Balance Of Power) has finished tracking vocals for the track “Two Of Us” and commented, “The song is both melodic and powerful, full of harmonisations, definitely a killer song!." More...

Royal Hunt Completes Recording Guitar Solos
Dutch power metal band Royal Hunt has completed recording the guitar solos for their new album. Samples can be heard at this location. The band has issued the following studio update:
"Five different guitars, four amps, a cello and a bunch of songs to vandalize – that’s Marcus’s idea of Heaven! Slow, fast, soft and completely distorted, twisted and insane… is this bloke having a ball or what? He does indeed… or he did, as we convinced him (finally!!!) that we were out of tape to record any more of this nonsense and – after a few days of redundant squeaks (believe it or not, but he still calls it 'playing!' Shipped him away safely… phew" More...
Royal Hunt Completes Keybaords For New Album
Denmark's Royal Hunt has issued the following studio update:
"André announced – officially – that he completed keyboard recordings for the new album. The announcement was met with a hint of scepticism because - as we all know by now - a few unexpected, additional keyboard tracks have that mysterious tendency to appear out of the blue later, on that very first day of mixing :-)… But that’s the status as of today – have a listen in our Studio Diary."
Royal Hunt Issues Recording Update
Denmark's Royal Hunt has issued the following recording update:
"As you all know by now, this album will be recorded in an 'old school' fashion (not only songwriting has been done in that way, but the actual means of recording are suppose to match the 70`s atmosphere as well); now – all of the sudden - it’s all about old analogue gear, drifty tape machines, noisy amps and kilometres of tape… in short: trashy ancient crap in different forms and shapes :-) Without a doubt: an interesting – and somehow daring – idea, which might look and sound quite appealing (in theory), but is it doable? Only time will tell.
"But – while in the process of figuring it out - why not make it a little bit more interesting (for some of you, at least)?... and after some head scratching we decided to give you a chance to observe (well, to listen to, mostly) how one of the songs from our future album will be build from scratch – an instrument at the time, all the way to the final mix. So don’t forget to check out our 'Studio Diary' from time to time – the journey’s about to begin!"
Royal Hunt Recording New Album
Denmark's Royal Hunt has issued the following update about beginning the recording process for a new studio album:
"Royal Hunt are entering the very final stages of preproduction for their new – tenth since their debut in 1991 - studio album (the actual recordings will start by the end of this month). This time the band decided to revisit their roots and incorporate some of the musical values of the 70's into their songwriting as well as – in order to reinforce that particular atmosphere - employing mostly “retro” means of production (recording in analogue format exclusively being one of them). Music has been described as “an interesting mix of what’s been tagged as Classic Rock nowadays (established by Kansas, Genesis, ELP..s earlier works and Deep Purple, Uriah Heep..s classics from the same era) and Royal Hunt..s trademark composition/delivery”. The album is expected to be mixed/mastered sometime during the summer.
"+ A few more songs from the past albums uploaded to our MySpace page - enjoy!"
