Its no secret that heavy metal and Halloween go together like a hockey mask and a machete. While there are numerous songs you can list under the hallowed category, here are ten terrifying tracks to bleed your ears dry.
10. Moonspell - "I'll See You In My Dreams"
Who knew such a soft jazz song from 1924 could be recreated over 80 years later as a wickedly heavy and haunting track from Portugal's biggest metal export. It was recorded for a film of the same title, and the video features clips from the movie along with an amazing array of starving Zombies who seem to have a craving for Portuguese flesh.
Portuguese gothic metal act Moonspell has announced the acoustic "Shadow" tour, which starts of on October 30th to celebrate Halloween. The band issued the following announcement about the shows:

This show is also aimed at an audience open to new sounds and approaches. Keeping the old tradition, and the pair of acoustic concerts, Moonspell are pleased to invite all families to spend a weekend Halloween together.
"The band will present a set of thematic activities on this holiday. Portuguese metallers Moonspell have issued the following update about having their very own stamp issued for their "Wolfheart" album:
"The Portuguese Postal Service (CTT, Correios de Portugal) will issue a collection of stamps that represent the most significant rock moments and records from Portugal. Wolfheart was chosen and it will have an official stamp of itself, reproduced below. This is an official stamp and it will be sold in every post office in the Portuguese territory from the 19th July on and it costs 1€ and it can be used as national and international postage. Being that the whole of our career kick started as penfriends and tape traders we could not think of a more perfect and suitable distinction. In three days we share the stage with Faith No More and Alice in Chains in Optimus Alive Lisbon.
"In the meanwhile the band is working on their new album, the most exciting, sexier, darker, heavie and catchier stuff we wrote in ages! The album is due to be released in 2011. You can catch the band live in Summer Festivals and on the 70000 of metal cruise in January 2011."

As was previously announced, Samael have dropped off the upcoming North American tour with Moonspell and have been replaced by Divine Heresy. Also appearing on the bill are Book of Black Earth and Secrets of the Moon.
Commented Divine Heresy guitarist Dino Cazares: "We have been waiting patiently for the perfect touring opportunity to present itself and we couldn't possibly be more pleased to be direct support to the mighty MOONSPELL this fall. This North American tour is exactly what we were looking for as we wanted a chance to perform in front of a lot of new faces that might not have been exposed to our band. This tour marks the kick-off of a massive worldwide touring campaign to support the new 'Bringer of Plagues' album. DIVINE HERESY is better than ever and we are embarking on this tour with only one, simple goal in mind: to annihilate everything in our path. Expect an unrelenting set and if your jaw isn't on the floor when we finish, then we haven't done our job, but that won't be the case. Be sure to come by the merch booth each night to say hello to us all and we look forward to seeing everyone soon. It's certainly been way too long."
