Moonspell has issued the following update about upcoming tours and planning a new album:
"As you know I am always involved in new projects. It's the kind of crazy man I am. But I feel so many artistic motivations that is hard to keep them to myself. Goes without saying that Moonspell is my main priority and outlet and always be. Whoever doubts that, doubts my integrity and I all I give and receive from this band. This post is not for you then. We just came back from an intense, hard but successful tour, where, every night, we had a HUGE response to our shows and songs. We are thankful to everybody who attended the shows and gave so much of themselves. We are happy to inform that we are on the verge of confirming another tour in North America as well as few dates in South America, between October and November, as well as some dates for Russia before the festivals. More detail will follow soon, stay tuned.
"After that tour is finished we intend to write a new album to be recorded and released in 2010. We will also make a decision over the plan of having an acoustic album for Moonspell.
"As for related news, the Fado project Fernando is involved made number #1 in Portuguese charts and has maintained this position for the second week in a row. Following up are some news in Portuguese, for Portuguese and Brazilian friends, that deal, in general, with some of the band showcases in stores and promo activity."
Portugal gothic metal band, Moonspell, has canceled their upcoming shows in Belarus. The band comments on the cancellation:
"We are extremely disappointed by the fact we had to cancel the shows. The reasons on both Neopolis and COF site is accurate but Moonspell might add that the bands' buses entered Belarus territory and were meeting for possible solutions for the day. On the event that the truck with ALL of our tour equipment was held due to a bureaucratic detail in the border made all our efforts worthless." More...

Portuguese gothic metal band Moonspell has announced that they will be playing the March On Stage concert at the Hard Rock Cafe is Lisbon on March 18th. The promotional poster for the show can be viewed here.
Freshly back from the Darkest Tour with CRADLE OF FILTH, GORGOROTH, MOONSPELL and SEPTICFLESH, Dutch goth metallers ASRAI wrote the following report of this European tour that took place in December, ending in an unexpected way:
"We were looking forward to this tour for a long time. Finally the Darkest Tour kicked off on Monday December 1st. Early in the morning together with our tour manager and driver we headed in our van to London, where we would meet everybody and go on the tour bus. Everything went well from Calais to Dover, until we got stuck in traffic. And soon we heard that we were not the only ones... Time was not our friend, so when we heard that there was a possibility that one of the bands couldn't play we drove like maniacs through the streets of London. We arrived with adrenaline rushing though our veins, although it didn't help us much... We heard that one band couldn't play... And in this case it was us... Well at least we had all the time to watch all the shows and enjoyed being there.
"So when after the shows finally 52 people and all the stuff found their way in four tour busses, one truck and a trailer we were ready to go to Paris... Peter brought back our van, ready to meet us at 013. After a bumpy ride we woke up in Paris, with one eye open we saw the Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre and it was time to get up... First we drove straight up to a parking space near the Seine, so there was enough room at the Bataclan to unload the truck. After a glance at the Seine we went back to the bus, up to the Bataclan, where a queue was waiting. The venue was beautiful and the breakfast was nice and more than welcome, giving everybody the time to know one another. Hard work to set everything up on time but it was all worth it. The audience was great and it was nice to finally meet the people from SOM. More...

Gothic Portuguese metal band Moonspell has issued the following tour update on their MySpace page:
Kicking back, hanging out, cooling. All these words, which I don't use or practice enough back in Europe, start making sense in the back lounge of the bus, a light smile calling up to the face, a warm breeze from the open window (yes, it's open and the AC is off!!! We don't care, we're from Europe, into the wild), outside the backdoor parking of Scout Club in S.Antonio, Texas. It's a showday today, party was mildly wild last night though it feels we have rocked through it pace'till death. First it was the Foundation Room, the huge American shots, like alcohol artillery making tabula rasa of your insides, then the Danzig bus, then our bus to finally stumble around the oppressive lights of a jumbo Walmart and wake up the next day with pumpkin pie crumbles all over the couch and a hard pressed ultra mega chips ahoy! pack under the pillow.
It's a past night that embodies well the spirit of this tour, that subtracted its little amount of back and forth (what would be a tour without it?), sees everyone hanging out together, delivering the goods on stage and basically at peace with a campaign which is fulfilling its ultimate goal: to pass on this good atmosphere to the crowds which we see pleasingly reacting and giving it all since SkeletonWitch, the first and great band, enters stage with its rabid thrash metal and their American beers; up to the Dirty Black Summer just paints it all black and strong. I see people leaving exhausted but enthusiastic about everyone's shows, I see merchandisers working in every booth, I see that, because, many times I am there, in the crowd, banging heads, drinking beers that people buy me and thank me for drinking (!). Now I remember: last night party begun just left to the pit, and when Danzig was over there was like 4 empty cups, one inside the other, in my left hand. Yes I do the horn sign, right red handed.
