Commented Mille Petrozza: "Finally we are gonna be back on a headlining tour through europe again. It will be more than two years by then since our last run and we have some amazing ideas for a new stage show, supporting our new album. It will be nothing less than spectacular, I promise! Death should be credited with creating death metal, at least the old school style we recognize now, as they birthed the infamous Tampa, Florida sound. Bands such as Autopsy and Obituary—two of the forerunners—would not exist without Death. Death is not the true father of death metal, though. That distinction goes to Possessed. The California Bay Area group not only played a style of brutal, vicious metal, with loads of Satanic imagery, they also coined the term “death metal” on the “Seven Churches” album.
Around 1985, albums similar to “Slowly We Rot” (Obituary) and “Mental Funeral” (Autopsy) simply did not exist. Thrash was the fasted, craziest music around. Of course Possessed has already been mentioned, but the influence of Slayer, who obviously influenced Possessed, can not be under recognized. Where Possessed was different was they used a rougher production. Dark Angel, whose drummer, Gene Hoglan, would go on to be one of the most heralded drummers in the metal biz, certainly showed a good dose of Slayer in their sound. In the beginning, Slayer was nothing more than a faster, nefarious, more solo-oriented Venom protégé. More...

This will be a once in a lifetime collection of unique metal presences.”
Munkeby adds: “We’re super happy to play these shows with old and new metal gods alike! To add to that, we’re even doing a very special and unique set together with Marty Friedman on stage, which will include both Shining and Marty material. This October/November, metal icons Arch Enemy will be returning to North American soil to tour in support of the "War Eternal" album (reviewed here).
To celebrate this momentous headlining trek, the band will be releasing a split 7" with Kreator, who will be direct support on the run.
Available starting at the Baltimore show on October 23rd, this exclusive transparent red 7" (limited to 500 copies) will be found solely at the merch table; a dark red 7" (limited to 500 copies) will also be available on Kreator and Arch Enemy's European tour, which sees Arch Enemy as direct support. The track listing is as follows:
Side A (Arch Enemy)
1. Breaking The Law (Judas Priest cover)
Side B (Kreator)
1. Iron Destiny
Arch Enemy's Michael Amott (guitar) comments: "Super excited about the upcoming tours in Europe and USA with Kreator, and it's really cool to have this split vinyl 7" coming out to celebrate the extreme metal party of the year! Covering the Judas Priest classic 'Breaking The Law' is obviously not the most original idea, but this is a heavily rearranged version that sounds very Arch Enemy, and anyhow there's no denying that the mighty Priest is a great influence on Arch Enemy...Enjoy this unique and limited Kreator/Arch Enemy release and see you on the road!"
Kreator's Mille Petrozza (vocals, guitar) comments: "Finally, after all these years, Arch Enemy and Kreator not only tour together, but will also release a split single! I have always been a fan of this stuff since these are special little collector's items. We chose the song 'Iron Destiny' for this. Lyrically this is a tribute to the early days of the band, the days when we were young metal-heads, discovering the music that we still love to this day. Kreator is looking forward to this run and we hope to see all of you!" More...

Kreator announced a new headline European tour with Arch Enemy, Sodom and Vader in support. The tour will begin on December 4th in Tilburg, Netherlands. The press release reads:
"Following the release of last year’s highly acclaimed and critically hailed live DVD/Blu-ray "Dying Alive," German thrash metal giants Kreator now announces a tour for November/December 2014, leading the true "hordes of chaos" throughout Europe as headliners, and with them a real high class selection of bands.
"Joining Kreator for the upcoming live shenanigans are Polish label mates Vader, Swedish death metal masters Arch Enemy and German thrash veterans Sodom.
"Frontman and icon Mille Petrozza comments: 'A lot of our European fans voiced their discontent over the fact that the band hardly does European club tours – apart from our festival shows. In 2013 we were mainly busy playing for our fans overseas. We want to change this now. In time for the reissues of 'Endless Pain,' 'Pleasure To Kill' and 'Extreme Aggression' in all kinds of formats – finally on vinyl again too - we'll end the 'Phantom Antichrist' tour cycle in Europe with a massive string of shows. This will be your last chance to see Kreator live in clubs for quite a while, because we'll be busy working on a new album in 2015 and only play carefully selected shows. Right now we're working on a new multimedia stage show and we'll also have a bunch of surprises in the setlist. Our friends of Arch Enemy are part of the trek to present their new album 'War Eternal,' and so will Vader and our old companions Sodom. This tour will be KILLER!!!“

As if the ante of seeing Testament, Overkill and Flotsam & Jetsam needed to be raised, the thought of seeing Kreator, Overkill and Warbringer was much too tempting an offer. I was fortunate enough to see Overkill on that fateful day – February 16, 2013 – the last show that Blitz would sing on the tour due to contracting pneumonia – which forced him into the hospital in Buffalo the next day and forced the band off the tour. Looking back on that day, I thought despite the illness, Blitz sounded great – however, he did leave the stage nearly every time he stopped singing. Chuck Billy of Testament, who was also sick, sounded pretty awful, but he was a trooper and put on a great show regardless. Flash forward to November 1st and The Palladium in Worcester would be witness to what I can only describe as the “Tour of North American Aggression.” More...

Returning to North America for the second run in support of 13th studio album "Phantom Antichrist," German thrash act Kreator kicked off its "Legends of Thrash" tour last night in Baltimore, MD.
With co-headliner Overkill and Warbringer in tow, the run will continue tonight in Philadelphia, PA and throughout most of November, wrapping up with back-to-back New York City shows on November 23rd and 24th.
Checking in before the first performance last night in, frontman/guitarist Mille Petrozza commented:
"This upcoming North American tour will be a total massacre! Who would have thought 20 years ago that it would be possible to see Kreator, Overkill and Warbringer live on stage on the same bill? Growing up with 'Feel the Fire' and 'Taking Over' up to the newer releases like 'Iron Bound,' we feel absolutely privileged and honored to share the stage with the boys from Overkill on this run. This is a dream come true for us and for the fans. See you all at the shows!" More...
German thrash titans Kreator, Nuclear Blast, Janmedia, and animal rights organization PETA Germany have teamed up for charity. Together three huge prints of parts of the artwork (by artist Jan Meininghaus) of the band's most recent DVD/Blu Ray "Dying Alive" are being auctioned off via eBay.
All three prints are signed by all band members, and all proceeds will go directly in favor of PETA Germany. The three auctions can be found at this location.
Commented Kreator mainman and active vegan Mille Petrozza: "Our favorite artist Jan Meininghaus did an amazing job creating the cover art for 'Dying Alive' and the prints look just awesome. We are happy to support PETA and all the hard working people that help to make this world a better place - not only for humans, cats, dogs and other pets, but for ALL our animal friends on this planet."
Added PETA Germany representative Jobst Eggert: "Animals need our voice as they can't speak for themselves. We are happy that the animals have such a strong and charismatic voice like Mille's who stands up for their rights. Making people aware of wrongs in this world is something Kreator and PETA have in common and we are extremely grateful that the proceeds from these auctions will help us keeping up our work and make this world a better place for animals.“
