The band's lineup now includes bassist Tony Campos, formerly of Static-X, and drummer David Kinkade, formerly of Borknagar, alongside frontman Max Cavalera and guitarist Marc Rizzo. You can see a photo of the new lineup below also. As is customary with Soulfly, the band will introduce some new and unexpected elements into the mix, including a guest violinist. The album was recorded at Tallcat Studios in Arizona and produced by Chris "Zeuss" Harris (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, The Red Chord). Guest appearances will include Cattle Decapitation vocalist and DevilDriver frontman Dez Fafara. The album is slated for release on March 12, 2012 through Roadrunner Records. .

Cattle Decapitation vocalist Travis Ryan will appear as a guest vocalist on the forthcoming yet untitled Soulfly album. Ryan recorded his vocal portions at Frick'in Studios in San Marcos, CA. The new Soulfly is expected for release in early 2012 on Roadrunner Records.
Travis Ryan commented on the recording: "It's an honor to receive a call from someone you had pictures of on your wall as a kid asking you to be on a new album of theirs. I literally had a picture of Max and Gloria holding Richie in her arms that I ripped out of a copy of Metal Maniacs on my wall when I was 15 or 16. Now they're asking for my artistic hand in one of their creations, just doesn't get much more surreal than that. Very honored and the song is very 'death metal-ish' and completely crushes. Happy to be a part of it!"
Producer Zeuss (Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, The Red Chord) had the following comments on Travis' recording: "The vocals fucking rule!!!! Fits the song perfect… Very refreshing for me to hear these days."
Cattle Decapitation also recently announced that the band will enter Flatline Audio Studios in Denver, CO in January to record for an early Spring 2012 release through Metal Blade Records.
