New Haven, CT’s Dead By Wednesday today releases “The Surgeon,” a new video directed by Jacques Molle and taken from latest album "The Darkest Of Angels."
“The Surgeon,” an emotionally-charged acoustic track with unexpected flamenco flair courtesy of Soulfly/Cavalera guitarist Marc Rizzo, has the distinction of being the only track on the album to feature the band’s current full-time vocalist Rob Roy, as well as Rizzo, who was announced earlier this summer had also joined the band as a full time member.
“The Surgeon” comes in on a lighter note, following the band’s previous single “Live Again” featuring Shadow’s Fall vocalist Brian Fair. Says Drummer Christian “Opus” Lawrence:
“We know we’ll probably take some shit from the 'meta'” guys for this track, especially while 'Live Again' is still going, and most of the stuff that has been put out from this record so far has been heavier. But it’s such a powerful song, especially right in the middle of so many great brutally heavy tracks. The album really is all over the place, but 'The Surgeon' is so powerful and real, and is not only a really amazing showcase of what Rob can do, but also shows a whole other side of the band. We can do heavy. But, yeah, we can do this, too.” More...

Due to personal reasons, guitarist Ross Ragusa has chosen to amicably part ways with Connecticut based metal band Dead by Wednesday.
Ross states, "I love my brothers in DBW, I wish them nothing but success, as they deserve it for the years of hard work they put into this project. This was the hardest decision I've ever had to make in my life. But the road has done serious damage to my back and neck, so I need to step away to get healthy, pursue an education in music, and come out strong to become the musician I was born to be."
As hard as it was for the rest of the band to hear this, the show must go on, and the remaining band members wish him nothing but the best. Drummer Opus comments: "Although we will miss Ross on many different levels, we look forward to the the excitement and possibilities of working with some new energy and flesh blood. We don't care how long it takes for our search, but hopefully our 'Randy Rhodes' will walk through the door."
DBW will be holding national auditions for a replacement guitarist. All candidates must be pro and willing to tour. According to the band, “To be considered, you must be as good or better than Mr. Ross Ragusa. If you think you got what it takes, and are serious about your career, email Omindsnap@aol.com.” More...
