Payload Issues Vocalist Update

Finnish outfit Payload split with the band's vocalist earlier this year, and now guitarist Vic Lausas has checked in with the following update:

"As you probably know, we've been interviewing and auditioning quite a few singers already to fill the empty spot in the band, but still no perfect match.

"Things are looking quite good on that area though, we've been talking with some of the top level singers in Finland and we also have agreed three more auditions already for December.

"Finding the perfect front for the band isn't easy, but we will get there. Just be patient and show us your love on the way, and we will blow your mind!"

Payload Splitting With Vocalist

Payload's vocalist, Risto Sundberg, has decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. He is the other founding member of the band (alongside Vic Lausas), and has been in Payload for its entire existence since 2008.

He announced his decision to the band already during the spring, but the news was kept quiet while the band was busy with an album release and other events.

Payload will head on a European tour in August to serve as Sundberg's farewell. He has promised to continue with the band until a new vocalist is found. Risto Sundberg also issued the following statement: More...

Payload Reveals New Album, Posts Lyric Clip

The Finnish heavy metallers from Payload have just set the release date for their upcoming album: May 17th, 2013 will be the day when all fans can enjoy "Odyssey Dawn" to the fullest.

In addition, the band has uploaded an official lyric video for the song "Wounds." Check out the clip below. The "Odyssey Dawn" track listing is as follows:

Payload Recruits New Drummer

Finnish act Payload has checked in with the following announcement about recruiting a new drummer:

"Payload is happy to announce that the band has found a new drummer to replace Marko Siira, who had to leave the band recently.

"Mika Mönkkönen, previously of Syndrome, has as of today been confirmed as the newest member of the band. The band is expected to be back on stage early next year, along with the release of the album 'Odyssey Dawn.'" More...
