Destroyer 666 To Reissue "Phoenix Rising"

Season of Mist has issued the following announcement about re-issuing the "Phoenix Rising" album from Destroyer 666:

"After the success of last year’s reissue of the Destroyer 666 classic 'Cold Steel… for an Iron Age,' many fans asked for the 2000 masterpiece 'Phoenix Rising' to get the same treatment. Well that time has come! On August 24th (28th in North America), the Australian warmongers’ sophomore album will hit the stores as CD and LP in remastered editions with brand new artwork and liner notes from the band!

"With the release of their second album 'Phoenix Rising,' DESTRÖYER 666 reached a new dimension. British magazine Terrorizer saw the Australian warriors enter 'a new phase that mixes the best of old school barbarity with quality songwriting' and Aardschok chimed into this praise by giving 90/100 points. With their steadily growing popularity, DESTRÖYER 666 had clearly delivered a must-have masterpiece in the view of old and new fans alike.

"The icing on the cake is that the long-awaited reissue of 'Cold Steel…' in vinyl LP will be released on August 24th as well!" More...

Forgotten Tomb Confirmed For Extremefest 2012

Extremefest 2012 will take place in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland on the following dates:

5. July 2012 - 7. July 2012 DE – Hünxe, ExtremeFest Germany
5. July 2012 - 7. July 2012 AT – Salzburg, ExtremeFest Austria
5. July 2012 – 7. July 2012 CH – Pratteln, ExtremeFest Switzerland

The organizers of Extremefest have now issued the following announcement about confirming Forgotten Tomb and Ultrawurscht:

"Forgotten Tomb been around since 1999 and the Italians have caused quite a stir in the black and dark metal underground! 'Songs To Leave' (2002) or 'Love`s Burial Ground' (2004) are rightfully considered milestones of melancholic dark metal that the fourpiece infuses with doom and black metal elements. In 2011, Forgotten Tomb released their most recent effort 'Under Saturn Retrograde' and fans can look forward to one of the rare appearances of the Italians at the Austrian and German editions of Extremefest!

"It´s all about the sausage with Bavarian / Austrian act Ultrawurscht! Their highly explosive mixture of death metal, grind and hardcore – or simply 'Wurschtcore' – will one day conquer the world, and if you had the chance to check out albums such as 'Cheese Ass Built My Hot Dog' you`ll agree! Mixing metal and sausages should be declared a form of art anyway, so slap some wieners on the grill before checking out Ultrawurscht`s exclusive set at the Austrian edition of the Extremefest 2012!"

Season of Mist has issued the following announcement about re-releasing the Destroyer 666 album "Cold Steel... For An Iron Age" with bonus material:

"With 2002's 'Cold Steel... for an Iron Age,' black/thrash metallers DESTRÖYER 666 continued their steep climb in the favour of fans and critics alike. With time its impact even grew as Encyclopaedia Metallum now awards this album a 100% review twice, while saying: 'Cold Steel is pretty much a perfect album. It is fast, intense, and aggressive and most of all, incredibly infectious!'

"On next December 9th, this modern classic will be re-released in an irresistible package. The new version not only includes the bonus track 'The Dragon,' but the Australians also treated their masterpiece to a spectacular brand-new graphic design with liner notes. This is clearly a must have for all DESTRÖYER 666 fans!"

1. Black City - Black Fire
2. Clenched Fist
3. Cold Steel...

Heathen Added To Destruction Tour

German thrash metal veterans Destruction have announced that Destroyer 666 will be unable to participate in the band's scheduled tour of North America this April, because guitarist and vocalist K.K. Replacing them on the bill will be fellow thrash legends Heathen, who released their first new album in nineteen years, "Evolution Through Chaos" last year.

Speaking on the tour's lineup, Destruction front man Schmier stated:

"Destruction wishes Keith a safe and quick recovery! In the meantime, we are really happy to announce their old friends Heathen as a replacement for Deströyer 666! These Bay Area thrashers are one of my favorite thrash bands of all time and we will be sharing the European stages with them in some weeks on the Killfest tour. It's fantastic to have an opportunity to tour with old friends on both sides of the globe! German and Bay Area thrash together on tour - how much more kick-ass can it get?!
