Crooked X Added To Music As A Weapon Tour

Oklahoma's hard rock quartet, Crooked X will play on the second stage at Disturbed's Music As A Weapon IV Tour-a music, tattoo, and lifestyle festival-presented by Samsung Mobile and powered by Sprint. Crooked X will rock The Ernie Ball Second Stage, which will be officially sponsored by multi-city battle of the bands organization Headbang For the Highway, a 38-city, nine-week trek, which kicks off March 20th in Madison, WI. "I would go to this show even if we weren't playing. These are some of our favorite bands. What a great opportunity," says Jesse Cooper, lead guitarist. "I'm so stoked to go on the Music As A Weapon Tour. I'm excited to see Killswitch Engage and Suicide Silence. It's gonna be an experience for sure," adds Forrest French, lead vocals.

Recently, the 15-year-old shredders appeared on their own mini MTV rockumentary, "Rock N Roll Dream," which documented their real-life Cinderella story about four young boys catapulting from a Coweta, OK (population 7,000) garage band to opening for KISS in front of 35,000 screaming fans in Stockholm, Sweden. These events led to CX signing with EMI via McGhee Proffer Media (MPM) in August of 2008, all this within the span of nine months.

Their self-titled 10-song debut for EMI (in stores now), was helmed by hit producers Spencer Proffer (Tina Turner, Quiet Riot, WASP) and Michael Wagener (Metallica, Ozzy, Poison). Standout tracks on the new album include "Gone," "Time Is Now," "You Gotta Bleed," and "Adrenaline." The track "Nightmare," was featured in the successful Rock Band video game while "Gone" and "Rock N Roll Dream" are available as downloadable content for the game. The success of their debut landed them their first national late night TV appearance on ABC's JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, where they showcased new single "Gone" in addition to fan favorite "Rock N Roll Dream." Carcass Announces U.S. Tour Dates

Reunited U.K. melo-death/gore-grind legends, CARCASS, will return to the United States this March for the “Exhumed to Consume II” tour. The follow up to last years highly successful “Exhume to Consume” tour will feature SUICIDE SILENCE, SAMAEL, ARSIS and PSYCROPTIC plus a few special guests on select dates. Vocalist/bassist and all around optimistic person Jeff Walker commented:

"Well, I'm pleased to announce that CARCASS is gonna settle it's unresolved scores in the U.S.! There was some slight whimpers of discontent that we didn't hit some cities such as Chicago and Denver last time round - places that were always hot spots of enthusiasm for us. So we're coming back in March to finish off our unsettled business! We seemed to have had a profound influence on your economy and gas prices have gotten cheaper haha! That's doesn't mean we’re not gonna come through and provide some value for your buck with some old (and new) school friends and comrades such as SUFFOCATION, SAMAEL, BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, EXODUS, SUICIDE SILENCE etc. - check out locally as for who is on the bill where! And hey, I couldn't think of anywhere better to be on my 40th birthday than the Sunshine Theatre in Albuquerque, New Mexico! We promise this will be the last time we darken your shores (I said that with my fingers crossed behind my back)!"

Rockstar Mayhem Tour Cancels Sacremento Show

The promoters of the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem tour have posted the following message:

"Due to Northern California wild-fires, July 11th (Sacramento) Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival Performance Rescheduled to Monday July 14th

"Concerned for the health and safety of our patrons, performers and employees, Live Nation announces a date change for Sacramento's scheduled Rockstar Energy Mayhem festival at The Sleep Train Amphitheater. The air quality and temperature are expected to improve by end of weekend, allowing for the event to be moved to Monday, July 14th and show time will remain 1:30pm. Tickets purchased for Friday, July 11th will be honored.

"As we enter the second week of wild fires, and the recent 100+ degree temperatures, it is in the best interest of all involved that the tour date be rescheduled as conditions are expected to improve over the weekend. A variety of city and county officials have urged area residents to avoid long-term exposure to the outdoors and limit outdoor recreational activities."

"We sincerely regret this unavoidable cancellation and apologize to fans for any disappointment caused," says tour co-founder John Reese. "And while we're thankful that the show can take place on Monday, our thoughts are with the families in this area during this difficult time. Refunds will be available at original point of purchase." Suicide Silence Prepare For Tour WIth Nile

One of the extreme metal genre’s most talked about new bands, SUICIDE SILENCE, will kick off a massive co-headlining North American trek with NILE early next month. The month-long tour, which starts on March 8th, also features THE FACELESS and WARBRINGER in the support slots. This will lead Suicide Silence into a run on the summer’s Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour alongside SLIPKNOT, DISTURBED and MACHINE HEAD, among a slew of others. Be sure to visit www.myspace.com/suicidesilence to view their complete touring schedule.

Mitch Lucker (vocals) states: “We’ve hardly had a chance to breathe since The Cleansing was released this past September. Our last minute addition to the Behemoth tour in Europe this month was amazing and we’re equally enthused about the Nile U.S. tour right around the corner. At the same time, we’ve just launched a 2nd music video from the record; this one for the track, ‘Bludgeoned to Death.’ After MTV banned the first video, we’ve decided to give it another go without really sacrificing any creativity or intensity. Hopefully, we’ll get lucky and people will actually air this one somewhere. Either way, this onslaught of touring never seems to end and we’re looking forward to every bit of it leading into this summer’s Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour. Come out to a show and hangout!”

Nile Cancel Tomorrow's Show In Chile

NILE have been forced to cancel their upcoming February 20th show in Santiago, Chile. They have issued the following statement:

"The promoter has, at the last minute, refused to pay the band as agreed. The band is VERY disappointed, and if there was ANY way to still put on the show, I assure you they would do it! It's just not possible for them to fly the whole band and their gear to and from Chile, play the show and handle all living expenses out of their personal bank accounts. We hope the opportunity comes again for Nile to play in Chile, as they were very excited about this show. Please understand that if there was any way for Nile to still do this show they would do it in a heartbeat. We all sincerely apologize to the fans who have patiently waited for Nile to come to their country." More...
