Suicide Silence recently recruited Eddie Hermida as the band's new vocalist, who comes on after the death of former member Mitch Lucker. The band has now posted the following message online about recording a new album:
"We will begin recording our new album next week with Steve Evetts at the helm. This record will be the grittiest, most meaningful piece of work we've ever stood behind. We cannot wait for everyone to hear it.
"Steve Evetts is someone we've worked closely with for a long while, not only on The Black Crown, but also on some instrumental demos just prior to the tragedy last Fall.
"Here we are a year later prepping to record the nastiest, heaviest, most disgusting work we've ever done. Expect the unexpected. This is for Mitch."
All Shall Perish has posted the following message online about losing Eddie Hermida as he joins Suicide Silence:
"Earlier today, the official announcement came out that Hernan 'Eddie' Hermida has joined Suicide Silence. Eddie has quit All Shall Perish to Join Suicide Silence full time.
"To all our fans who want to know about the future of ASP, keep this in mind: Mike Tiner has been a major writer in the band and will continue to be. We had big shoes to fill when guys like Chris Storey and original vocalist Craig Betit left All Shall Perish, but we were able to rebound with the addition of massive talents like Adam Pierce, Francesco Artusato and Eddie Hermida.
"Eddie has big shoes to fill himself, stepping in for our fallen brother Mitch Lucker. All Shall Perish has continued before and will continue now. We wish Suicide Silence all the best."

Montreality has posted a video interview online featuring the members of Suicide Silence, including front man Mitch Lucker, who passed away last year. Check out the clip below, and Montreality also commented:
"We had the chance to interview Suicide Silence as a full band back in June 2012. Very sadly, Mitch Lucker, their lead singer, passed away following a motorcycle accident in October 2012.
"We had lost this interview due to a hardrive failure, but we've luckily recovered it & would like to dedicate it to the loving memory of Mitch Lucker, rest in peace." More...
Robb Flynn of Machine Head used to write diaries on the band's website pretty regularly, but life got in the way, or as he puts it: "between touring and all the demands of Machine Head, as well as being a husband, and full-time Dad to two young boys when I'm not on tour, I just haven't had the time. On top of that, my diaries had snowballed into epic endeavors that seemed to demand more and more with every installment and that just started to overwhelm the whole process."
Robb has now finally posted a new diary entry, which includes his thoughts on Stone Sour's "House of Gold & Bones Part 1" and performing at the memorial service for Suicide Silence frontman Mitch Lucker, who died in a motorcycle accident in December.
Suicide Silence front man Mitch Lucker passed away earlier this Fall due to a motorcycle accident. Prior to the accident, the band was interviewed on Mitch's 28th birthday in relation to the charity work the group had done surrounding the previous year's holiday season. This would end up being Mitch's final interview, and it can now be viewed below.
The band also commented: "Mitch's final video interview (focused around Christmas) is now online. Merry Christmas everyone & a big thank you to anyone who has donated or helped Mitch's family in any way this holiday season."
You can also watch a video clip taken from the candelight vigil held after Mitch's passing at this location.
I See Stars has been added to Asking Alexandria‘s “Monster Energy Outbreak Tour” with As I Lay Dying, Memphis May Fire and Attila. The North American trek kicks off November 16th. I See Stars will be performing on the bill in-between Memphis May Fire and Attila. Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce said the following of the situation:
"First and foremost I would like to talk about a dear friend of mine who was prematurely taken from us this month. Mitch Lucker was one of the kindest and most passionate people I have ever had the pleasure of calling my friend. My thoughts are not only with his family and friends, but also with the millions of people, worldwide, who Mitch helped to mould and inspire into the people they are today. A great man was lost who's love and passion reached all corners of the globe. As many of you know, Suicide Silence were preparing to join us on our upcoming 'Outbreak' Tour.
"Due to the devastating circumstances they will no longer be joining us physically. They will however, Mitch included, be with us in spirit. We will go out on this tour with As I Lay Dying, Memphis May Fire & Attila to pay our tributes and respects to Mitch and his brothers in Suicide Silence. A portion of all tickets and official tour t-shirts sold will go to Mitch's daughter for the Kenadee Lucker Education Fund.
"Suicide Silence could never be replaced on our tour as they are the only band in the world who could bring their element, intensity and power to the line-up. For the sake of giving the fans the best show we can under the circumstances, we have decided to add Sumerian family members I See Stars to the bill, NOT AS A REPLACEMENT BY ANY MEANS, but as another band who's love and passion for music and their fans is as tried and true as ours. Now, more than ever, we need to come together to celebrate our collective love of music and to show compassion & solidarity in our scene.
"It's time to put aside all petty differences and remember what it is that brings us all together, the music. Mitch - from myself and everyone else who will be taking part in this tour, you are forever in our hearts. This one's for you. We love you. Cheers." More...
Suicide Silence's vocalist Mitch Lucker died last week after an alcohol-related motorcycle crash. Mitch is survived by his wife and daughter, and the band has now announced a fund is being set up for his daughter's education. Suicide Silence comments:
"An official site has now been set up with all donations put toward Kenadee Lucker's Education Fund. Anyone who donates $20 or more will receive a commemorative t-shirt. Anyone who donates $5 or more will have their name added to a tribute page coming soon on SuicideSilence.net.
"Please spread this link around so that fans wanting to contribute can do so officially and not lose money to unauthorized bootleggers who may be selling shirts for their own profit."
Bands on Tour TV attended the candlelight vigil in honor of Mitchell Adam Lucker of Suicide Silence, who died November 1st, 2012 from a motorcycle accident. Check out the footage from the event below.
Mitch's wife speaks during the vigil and confirms rumors that have been circulating that the accident was alcohol related as Mitch was drinking prior to driving and had been struggling with alcoholism.
The band also commented yesterday, "There's no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts. R.I.P. Mitchell Adam Lucker - We Love You Brother."
Update: Footage from the candlelight vigil held for Mitch has now been posted online and can be found right here.

Suicide Silence is proud to announce that the band has inked a deal with Nuclear Blast Entertainment, the new division of Nuclear Blast formed by Nuclear Blast owner Markus Staiger and former Roadrunner A&R chief, Monte Conner.
As guitarist Mark Heylmun puts it, "I and all of Suicide Silence are proud to announce that we have signed a worldwide deal with the one and only Nuclear Blast. It wasn't a tough decision, Nuclear Blast has been a huge part of heavy metal for decades and we couldn't be happier. This is a new beginning for us and we're ready as all hell! Let Chapter 2 begin now!"
"I am beyond stoked to be signing to the sickest of all heavy metal record labels," continues Dan Kenny. "It has been a dream of mine since I was a youngster with Nuclear Blast posters on my bedroom wall."
Suicide Silence will also be taking part in the Monster Energy Outbreak tour with As I Lay Dying, Asking Alexandria, and more.
Killswitch Engage will be headlining the upcoming California Metalfest. It's a special gig for the Grammy-nominated, Massachusetts metal band celebrating its 10th anniversary of 2002's "Alive or Just Breathing." To commemorate the album, KSE will play the album in its entirety, from start to finish, as well as other more recent tracks.

Ash Avildsen, founder of California Metalfest had this to say: "Alive or Just Breathing is one of the most important and timeless albums for this era of heavy music. Monster Energy and Idol Roc Entertainment have announced the line-up for the 2012 Monster Energy Outbreak Tour. Headliner Asking Alexandria will be joined by support acts As I Lay Dying, Suicide Silence, Memphis May Fire, and Attila. The full itinerary for the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour will be announced September 7th.
The line-up prompted tour producer Steve Glazer (Idol Roc Entertainment) to share, "Without question this is the strongest lineup we've assembled for Outbreak to date. Each year we promise to grow our brand and it all starts with delivering the fans an undeniable lineup of artists on the rise paired with an affordable ticket price."
Asking Alexandria guitarist Ben Bruce stated, "America, we are back, we are excited, we are ready and we are fucking headlining! This is our biggest headlining tour ever and we are bringing with us, the biggest, heaviest and best bands that rock has to offer. This Monster Energy Outbreak Tour is going to be fucking insane, more so especially due to the fact that this is not only going to be our last tour of the year and our last tour in America for quite awhile, but also because this is going to be the last tour on the Reckless and Relentless album cycle.
"We will be playing songs from Stand Up and Scream, Reckless and Relentless and a handful of brand new songs from our upcoming album. You, North America, have been chosen to hear our new songs before anyone else in the world. Let's make this a tour to fucking remember. Lets end 2012 bigger, better and harder than anywhere else on this earth. We can't wait to see you all. If 2012 really is the end of the world, then all I can say is....we are going out with a bang motherfuckers! We will see you all soon.”
Asking Alexandria will enter the studio in October prior to the Monster Energy Outbreak Tour to place the finishing touches on a third full-length effort. The disc is set for an early 2013 release.

Day three was upon us, and the only thing that banished the gloomy weather was knowing that the day held a few favorites in store. For me at least due to a stubborn illness I caught only the biggest acts. With a healthy mix of folk metal, deathcore, and even some classically inspired loveliness Day three promised to be another rousing adventure in Helsinki for everyone who came out to enjoy.
Suicide Silence was the first act of the day. The energetic Americans started the day off with some epic stage presence and brutal death core that prepared our ears for what was to come this day. Usually I’m not into this genre, but these guys have the kind of energy that is contagious. Singer Mitch is unusually acrobatic for a front man and has the audience frantically headbanging and moshing as he seemingly defies gravity while singing.
Next up was everyone’s favorits cellists, Apocalyptica. There’s something about this band that just pleases everyone, form pretentious purists to the most brutal metal fans; these guys have a very wide fan base. Always impressive is the fact that these well trained musicians can get a clean sound from their strings, even despite the humid weather and rain which usually wreak havoc on acoustic instruments. It’s hard not to enjoy the enthusiastic act on stage when the music can go from lovely, to rageful from one beat to the next. Though I wouldn’t have dreamt it doable these guys run around, headbang and essentially violate their cellos with bows that drop horse hair all over the stage; all while emitting music that permeates the festival grounds with its torment.
