Beneath The Massacre Offer Post-Tour Update

Montreal’s BENEATH THE MASSACRE has just completed the band’s first ever European tour alongside Despised Icon and Misery Index. Frontman Elliot Desgagnes offers an update on the band: “So we just did our last show in Europe and we'd like to thank everyone that came to the shows, sang along, headbanged and had beers with us! We’ll be back soon enough! We of course would like to thank our bros in/with Despised Icon, Misery Index, Man Must Die and Annotation of an Autopsy for the good times. We are now getting ready for the headline tour in the US – can’t wait!”

BENEATH THE MASSACRE will depart on that headlining tour of the US with support from See You Next Tuesday, Born of Osiris and The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza. The full-length, ‘Mechanics of Dysfunction,’ saw a February 2007 release and has since sent the band out on the road across North America alongside Ion Dissonance, the Summer Slaughter tour with Necrophagist and Cattle Decapitation, and a tour with labelmates Through The Eyes of the Dead and As Blood Runs Black. The 10 new tracks were recorded and produced by Yannick St-Ammand (Despised Icon, Neuraxis), mixed by Pierre Rémillard (Cryptopsy,Krisiun) and mastered by Alan Douches (Dillinger Escape Plan, Shadows Fall) and ‘Mechanics of Dysfunction’ is the full-length follow-up to 2005’s highly praised five-track ‘Evidence of Inequity’ EP.

French Canadian death metal band BENEATH THE MASSACRE has offered up a post-tour update, upon last night's completion of The Radio Rebellion tour, featuring Behemoth, Job For A Cowboy, and labelmates Gojira and BENEATH THE MASSACRE. The band issued this update: "So one more US tour over. That was the fourth since May '07 and the last of the year. The Radio Rebelion Tour was by far the best thing we ever been on. We'd like to thank the sponsors, the agencies and every musician and crew members of Gojira, Job For A Cowboy and Behemoth; We'll miss you guys! Mention of honor to the Atlanta, Hollywood, Denver, San Francisco, and Worcester shows: You guys were amazing! And of course, as always Toronto and Montreal represented as fuck for the Canadian part of the tour. Summer Festival Slaughters New York City

On July 8th 2007 I went to see the Summer Slaughter Festival at BBkings in New York City. Of the venues in my area that book metal bands, BBkings has been one of my favorites for its amazing sound and size. It is never too loud that I feel like I’m going deaf, but still loud enough that I feel the music and rock out. The venue definitely has great tech guys running the soundboards and lights. With this in mind, I knew that I would get proper enjoyment of the bands and not focus on how much I can't hear a certain instrument or the vocals. I entered without knowing what to expect because I am not a fan of most brutal death metal, but there were a few bands I recognized and wanted to see how they were live, namely, Necrophagist, Beneath the Massacre, and Cephalic Carnage. I really wish I could have seen Arsis, but they had troubles with their van on tour and couldn't make it out. More...

Necro Leaves Sounds Of The Underground Tour

Self proclaimed "death rap" artist Necro has issued the follwing statement from his official Myspace:

"I decided to leave the tour collectively with my manager and booking agent (both tour organizers) because we felt the tour’s demographic was not receiving hip hop well. I was facing hostile, disrespectful crowds and was returning the same energy back ten-fold by being more aggressive than them.

It was making a lot of people in the tour crew nervous and there was concern someone might get hurt (NOT ME). It was also being suggested that maybe I tone down my live show and not antagonize the already antagonistic crowd. I couldn’t roll with that as it’s not my style. I was holding back enough as it is but there is a line. All the bands on the tour loved us and everyone behind the scenes knew we displayed major heart and never once got phased by the hostility. We finished every show with middle fingers up and a big "Fuck You" to the crowd.

I will make one thing clear for the haters: we NEVER got booed OFF the stage. Not once. Yes a ton of emo kids booed us at every show, but we had a twenty-five minute set every night and we stayed on stage for every minute of it, and we represented. Every show had at least 100 to 200 Necro fans in the pit tearing it up, and our meet and greets were incredible!

It’s just a shame these little kids are so close-minded. The majority of the hate was coming from mop top emo sixteen-year olds who have no clue who the originators of metal are, and didn’t respect my rest in peace chant to metal legends (Dime, Cliff, Chuck, Piggy, SOB).

As far as the tour organizers and I are concerned, you are my people so it’s all love and I’m thankful for the opportunity to prove I can murder it in the worst of situations. This actually did a lot for me and is just one move in many my team will make to blow Necro up"

The Black Dahlia Murder Comments On Upcoming CD

THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER has commented on their upcoming release "NOCTURNAL":

“Hey troops, Trevor here from The Black Dahlia Murder. Just stopping by to tell you about our new album, Nocturnal, which is currently being mastered. From the songs, to the artwork, to the sound quality itself, we could not be more pleased with the results... We are all feeling like proud fathers over here. The album was recorded by Eric Rachel at Trax East, and mixed by Jason Seucof at Audiohammer... it sounds absolutely crushing. It should be just a couple of days before we post a new song on the myspace so you guys can have a taste of the carnage to come. In the mean time, we are gearing up for global destruction... ahem, our tour of the European Festival circuit, as well as our return to the UK. We are very excited to play at Wacken and are very honored to have the opportunity to play in front of so many metal heads. Not to mention our US tour in the fall in support of Cannibal Corpse... on which we will be debuting some new material. Come out and support extreme metal!!!!”

Arsis Drop Off The Summer Slaughter Tour

Guitarist & vocalist James Malone regretfully explains why ARSIS had to drop off the Revolver Magazine-sponsored Summer Slaughter Tour while supporting their latest release, United In Regret:

"Due to circumstances beyond our control, we've been forced to drop off the Summer Slaughter Tour. I do apologize to ALL the fans that missed seeing us. To make a long story short, everything was going great for us until we reached Sacramento, California. After that show, our van began to give us trouble - which surprised us since the van had just been in for repairs twice before the tour even started and we were sure the problem had been fixed. So we took the van in to the nearest dealership, were told the problem could be resolved in 3 days, and decided to wait in Sacramento until the van was fixed. It's now over 2 WEEKS LATER and the van STILL hasn't been repaired. Unfortunately, it's already too late for us to rent a vehicle. We've gone broke paying for hotels. Van rental fees + the cost of gas would have cost us a fortune to catch up to the tour. Please understand that we made the best decision we could with the information we were given. Unfortunately, it turns out we made the wrong decision."

Offers to assist with lodging, gas card gift donation pledges, and general well-wishes for the band can be left at www.myspace.com/ARSIS
