The band recently entered frontman Erik Rutan's own Mana Recording Studios in St. Petersburg, FL to begin recording the new studio album. J.J. Hrubovcak has been added as the band's bassist.
Commented Rutan: "The band has been locked up in Mana Recording Studios doing pre-production for the past two months, finishing up songs that we have been writing over the last year in between tours and albums that I've produced, and we feel we have come up with one of Hate Eternal's heaviest, most twisted, evil, melodic, and insane albums yet.
"It was my goal to expand upon what the band has done in the past, and add new dynamics and twists to the traditional, dissonant Hate Eternal style, yet keep it in the same vein. It took the three of us really pushing ourselves, and digging deep into the essence of who we are as musicians and writers and players to create something very unique and special. We cannot wait for everyone to hear what we have in store."

Beneath the Massacre Members Discuss New EP
Montreal technical death metal act Beneath the Massacre are set to release their new EP, titled "Marée Noire," on September 14th, 2010 through Prosthetic Records. Beneath the Massacre members Chris Bradley and Elliot Desgagnes have released comments on the forthcoming EP.
Guitarist Chris Bradley commented by saying: "Marée Noire' was written using a different approach than the preceding release. We wouldn't start the writing process from the same point. Some songs were more structured by melodies while others all started from drums pattern. I think it makes the songs stand out a little more."
Vocalist Elliot Desgagnes added: "It's going to be two years since our last album and we had the idea of a short release while we keep writing for the next full length. We picked five songs to go on the EP and I feel like these are by far the best songs we've ever written. Nothing that different from our other releases but we're always getting a little closer to the sound we want. So we're all satisfied with the result and are looking forward to share it. The tones are a little rawer and it helped a lot that Donaldson and Bradley already worked together in the past. We were all on the same page and everything went well in studio. I really like the EP format. It's easier lyrically to make connections between the songs and follow a thought pattern. We named the EP 'Marée Noire,' 'Black Tide,' in English, because I was writing lyrics on Absurdism, self fulfilled prophecy and corporations raping everything, when BP started to shit in the Gulf of Mexico."
