Maryland Deathfest X Initial Bands Announced

The organizers of the Maryland Deathfest have confirmed the first batch of bands for next year's edition of the event, which will take place from May 24-27, 2012 at Sonar in Baltimore, Maryland. The first names for the festival are as follows:

Ulcerate Streaming Entire New Album

MetalSucks has posted a full stream of "The Destroyers of All," the third full-length album from New Zealand death metallers Ulcerate. The stream will be available for a full week at this location. "The Destroyers of All" is set for release on January 25th by Willowtip Records.

Ulcerate Finishes Recording New Album

Willowtip Records has issued the following update about Ulcerate finishing the recording for the band's new album:

"Ulcerate have finished recording their new album titled The Destroyers of All. The Destroyers of All is the New Zealand based bands’ 3rd full length and it will be released via Willowtip on Jan 25th 2011. Each week in "Unearthing the Metal Underground," we'll be putting a few quality underground bands in the spotlight in an attempt to get the word out about them. This week I am delving into the New Zealand metal scene.

While NZ's main metal export for some time has been either 8 Foot Sativa (melodic death meets groove metal) or Dawn of Azazel (brutal death metal), New Zealand has a number of other gems in the rough with a lot of local support. Ulcerate Completes New Album

New Zealand's Ulcerate has finished recording their new album, "Everything Is Fire." Scheduled for an early-2009 release via Willowtip Records, Ulcerate's second full-length album further refines and expands their work on 2008's "Of Fracture and Failure."

The band has posted two new tracks on their MySpace page.

More Metalstock Fest Acts Announced

Metalstock, Australia’s only two day metal festival, is scheduled for the Easter weekend in March 2008, and has announced the second group of confirmed metal acts for this hugely anticipated event. The Festival will take place in Manning Bar, University of Sydney, on Saturday March 22nd (doors 3.00pm – 12.00am) and Sunday March 23rd (doors 3.00pm – 10.00pm). Ulcerate Searching For New Vocalist

New Zealand’s ULCERATE have posted the following update:

“As of October 07, ULCERATE and vocalist Ben Read have decided to mutually split ways. Ben has been with us for the better part of 2 years now and contributed some killer words and lungs to our attack, but now is the time for us to move on…"

"So ULCERATE is officially looking for a full-time vocalist. Any interested parties can contact us at ulcerate@gmail.com or via our MySpace account. We are after total professionalism in vocal and stage presence and lyrical concepts. We are also in the progress of negotiating international tours, so a will and ability to save to tour internationally is a must.”

Ulcerate Reveal Track Listing of New Album

New Zealand-based technical death metal band ULCERATE has completed work on its full-length debut, entitled "Of Fracture and Failure", due in early October via Neurotic Records. The CD was recorded and mixed by the group itself, while mastering duties were handled by Alan Douches at West West Side Music.

Commented drummer Jamie Saint Merat "'Of Fracture and Failure' is without a doubt our most accomplished and diverse material to date, and we're confident that it has something unique to offer the extreme music community. We really hope for this album to be one of the few style-defining releases in death metal."

Ulcerate Sign With The Spew Records

New Zealand death metal band Ulcerate have signed with The Spew Records. According to the label, "expect total dark and mayhemic technical death metal in a sort of idealogical mix between Immolation and Deeds Of Flesh." The group's debut, as-of-yet untitled, will hit streets in 2006.
