Born From Pain Issues Update On Vocalist's Surgery

Born From Pain has issued the following update about their vocalist Rob Franssen undergoing eye surgery:

"What's up everybody!

"Most of you might have heard about Rob's eye operation. After a seemingly successful recovery, Rob returned to tour two weeks ago. However, due to his eye problem returning, he had to drop off tour last week to undergo surgery again. Rob will not be fronting the band this weekend in Eindhoven and the upcoming July shows. However, Born From Pain will be playing every show this month with a substitute singer except for Vainstream, which we had to cancel. As it looks now, we will return to full strength as off August.

"Rob would like to thank everybody for their support during the last five weeks!

"Hope to see you soon!"

Born From Pain Realeses New Album Details

Dutch hardcore band Born From Pain has revealed the front art of their upcoming new album "Survival."

Singer Rob Franssen commented about the musical content of "Survival": "We are very happy the way the album turned out. We have invested a lot of time and energy in it and we are very pleased with the result. We feel we have integrated the new vocal sound into our music pretty well and concentrated especially on developing our sound further without losing our usual musical trademarks like heaviness, aggression and groove. We feel this is our best work easily up until now."

Rob also discusses the lyrical themes of "Survival": "We've taken a step further what our critical view on the ruling power structures is concerned, and thus the state of the World of today. We feel it is important to have a voice in times like these where the people are constantly lied to by ruling powers, robbed of self-worth, pushed in the dirt and cheated out of their last lifesavings under the veil of lies. We feel it is important to look further than the 8 o' clock news, mainstream radio or the online news agencies. We are trying to be critical and create awareness that there is more than meets the eye and people should get informed and look beyond to what they tell us is obvious. We are actively pushing for a critical agenda here and are not accepting our current situation. It is time to have a voice before it's too late. Look for truth!"

Here is the "Survival" track listing:

1. Sound Of Survival State Of Mind
2. Sons Of A Dying World
3. The Wolves Are Loose
4. Never Die
5. Final Collapse
6. Endgame
7. Zeitgeist
8. The Hydra
9. Zero Hour
10. Under False Flag

"Survival" will be released the 31st of October in D/A/CH/I and the 3rd of November in the rest of Europe.

Born From Pain Replaces Singer

Born From Pain (Metal Blade Records) was recently rejoined by original member Rob Franssen, who replaces departed vocalist, Kevin Otto. The group explains:

"After a long period of not knowing what was going to happen with Kevin's throat situation, Kevin was forced to stop shouting for Born From Pain by doctor's advice. The amount of shows on the schedule would have left Kevin's vocal chords scarred and marked for life and obviously he was not willing to take that risk. We had already seen it coming for a while as his situation has not been improving since Kevin's last show in December 2007. As Born From Pain had already looked to everybody who they thought were suitable for the job after original singer Che left, the only logical outcome left was to put original member Rob Franssen and former singer for bands like Feeding The Fire, Bloodsport, Wheel Of Progress and Backdraft on the mic."

Franssen comments: "After Kevin had decided to leave the band many people who are involved with the band urged me to pick up the mic, and since everybody was well-convinced I should be the one taking over due to my past experiences as a singer/frontman and being the main, longest lasting face of the band, I just did. We actually never really considered this option but it seemed right to us too and I got increasingly motivated by the trust put in me by many and started practising on the mic with the band. I feel great doing this as I have always written all the lyrics and vocal lines for the songs and I can now shout them myself. The fact that many people seem to feel I am doing a good job is really stimulating of course. Besides that, I feel like this is where I am supposed to be, it feels great again."

“We are currently laying low for a while writing new songs and preparing pre-production for studio dates in a while and an after summer release.

While writing, we are doing 10 days of France and Italy in April so come and check it out. We got a lot of tour stuff waiting in the pipeline to be confirmed. Also, we got a a lot of summer fests confirmed and a lot coming so keep your eyes peeled.

"Our singer Kevin [Otto] is currently fighting with his vocal cord infection and vocal cord troubles he used to have in END OF DAYS days. Our luck that we are writing a lot 'cos he needs rest vocal-wise at this point.

"We sincerely apologize to everybody at De Peppel in Zeist and everyone that bought tickets or was going to come to the show. It is the second time we had to cancel the show in De Peppel and we feel really bad about it, but there was no way that Kevin could do it. We promise to come back and make it up for real!"

BORN FROM PAIN's third album, "War", was released in 2006 through Metal Blade Records. The CD was produced by Tue Madsen (CATARACT, SICK OF IT ALL, KATAKLYSM, HIMSA, HATESPHERE) at Antfarm studio in Denmark and features guest appearances by Jan-Chris de Joeijer (GOREFEST), Lou Koller (SICK OF IT ALL) and HATESPHERE guitarist Peter "Pepe" Lyse Hansen.

Born From Pain Announces New Singer

Dutch hardcore/metal outfit Born From Pain (Metal Blade Records) has found a permanent replacement for Che Snelting, who left the band early this year. Now joining the group is Kevin Otto, formerly of End Of Days. Here's a statement from the band:

"We are happy to announce that we have finally found a steady frontman in our long-time friend Kevin Otto. We jammed together and couldn't be more thrilled about what came out. Kevin adds a dose of unmatched aggressiveness to the Born From Pain sound that will step up the level of brutality for a new release and future live shows. We are glad the wait is over! Expect a new song soon! However, due to personal reasons, Kevin will not be doing any shows with us until after the Hell On Earth tour. Therefore, Born From Pain will be fronted by good friend and Terror vocalist Scott Vogel during the Hell On Earth tour. Thanks to Paul Superior, Marcel Platoon and Carl First Blood for helping us out and doing a great job on the microphone in times of need. Also, a huge thank you to all of you for supporting the band during this period. This proves to us, once again, that you are the most loyal crowd a band could ever wish for! Thanks."
