Harlots Announces Final Tour Dates

Harlots has issued the following statement about their final live shows:

"After a year long hiatus, Harlots will be playing their last shows in their collective hometowns of Milwaukee WI, Indianapolis IN, and Dayton OH (where it all fucking started!). We'd like to sincerely thank all of our former members: Kenny Jones, Ben Jacob, Alex McIntosh, Matthew Reis, Ron Wagers, Justin Netherly, and original members Joel Wright and Brandon Hawk, as well as Drew Juergens and Lifeforce Records America, Stefan and Lifeforce Records Europe, Eric Fernald and Corrosive Recordings, Andy and Frankie at Feeling Faint Productions, Andy Parmann and Volatile Recordings, all the bands that shared members with Harlots (Shai Hulud, Dance Club Massacre, Today is the Day, Kenoma, Amora Savant, etc.), all of the people who did countless shows for us seeing as how we did all the booking ourselves since day one (seriously, without you guys none of this would have ever been possible), and last but not least all the people who supported our band over the years.

"Jeff plays drums for Trap Them and Savior for a Fallen Hero, and sometimes works on his hardcore side project Kiss The Cobra. Eric has a new band with Kenny Jones and Jimmy from Rune called By Way of Sunstorm, and Christian is now focusing on his art career Ascetic Art."

The final tour dates are as follows: More...

Harlots Working On New Album

Harlots is currently in pre-production mode for their next album. The group has prepared roughly sixteen new songs for the effort, which they expect to properly record this winter. Lifeforce Records will release the album in 2009. Here's an update from the band:

"For the past few months (actually, let's say a year or so) we've been demoing songs back and forth. So far we've done personal recording sessions via a lent digital 8-track from our good friend Kevin Schindel (Twelve Tribes, Mouth of the Architect), a recording session with former bassist and Basilica mastermind Ben S. Jacob, a recording session with As Eden Burns vocalist William Hesser while on tour in Houston TX, a recording session with Asrava guitarist Scott Lashay, and most recently a recording session with former Mouth of the Architect touring guitarist and guitarist of the band The Science Logic, Dan Wilburn. So far we're at about sixteen songs, and we're not quite finished."

Harlots drummer/guitarist Jeff Lohrber will be filling in on drums for Shai Hulud during their summer tour.

Harlots To Break From Touring

After a consistent run of tours in support of their last album, Ohio's Harlots will be taking some time off from the road. Drummer Jeff Lohrber comments:

"When you get involved in heavy touring of any kind, it can really strain the friendships within and outside of the band. Through the course of recording and touring for 'Betrayer' we've went through so many challenges where most bands would have given up. So now, it's time to get back to real life for a few months and recoup. Christian will be finishing school this Spring, Eric has been working on a new project with ex-members of Kenoma and Rune for a while now, Josh just got a house with his girlfriend and will be busting his face skating when the warm weather comes, and I will be working on a new band as well."

The band does however expect to resume touring in late-June/July.

Meanwhile, Harlots is currently hard at work on their second album for Lifeforce Records. The group has demoed roughly fourteen songs thus far, with plans to write more. Lohrber adds, "This will be the first time that we've gotten to do a follow-up release with a label, and we're going to take advantage of the opportunity and go completely overboard!"
