Magic Kingdom Names New Vocalist

Belgian power metal act Magic Kingdom has named ex-Adagio, current Epicrenel and Random Eyes vocalist, Christian Palin as new vocalist. Palin replaces Olaf Hayer (ex-Luca Turilli/ex-Dionysus) for the band's upcoming fourth studio relase "Savage Requiem," the first album in four years.

The announcement from guitarist Dushan Petrossi (Iron Mask) reads: "We are very happy to announce that the vocalist for the upcoming CD "Savage Requiem" of Magic Kingdom will be Christian Palin (known from Random Eyes, ex-Adagio). We are looking forward to letting you hear our new songs, with the typical Magic Kingdom symphonic, speed-sound!!!"

Palin joins Petrossi on guitar and Vassili Moltchanov (Iron Mask) on bass. The full lineup and more news on the album is expected soon. More...

Essence of Sorrow Post New Demo Song Online

ESSENCE OF SORROW, the Finnish band led by DIVINEFIRE guitarist Jani Stefanovic, has posted a demo version of a new song, "Blind Man", on its MySpace page.

ESSENCE OF SORROW released its debut album, "Reflections of the Obscure", in December 2006 in Japan through King Records and in January 2007 in Europe via Rivel Records. The band, initially a solo project, began to take shape during the spring of 2005 in Gothenburg, Sweden when Stefanovic started composing intricate music that expressed various feelings through strong melancholic melodies. Disbelief, Falconer To Co-headline Night Of Power

German Deathcore band Disbelief will headline the Night Of Power Festival in the I-Park Hall Klingholz in Giebelstadt, Germany (near Würzburg) on October 15. Power metallers Falconer have been confirmed as co-headliners. All in all, 12 bands will rock the festival, the complete line up is as follows:

The Night Of Power Festival started in 2004 to celebrate the five-year anniversary of Germany's online magazine PowerMetal.de. Because of the great success of last year's event, PowerMetal.de have decided to stage the festival again this year.
