Below is our complete Ignite news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.
Chris Chasse Leaves Rise Against, Enlists Punk Veteran Brett Rasmussen of Ignite, forms Last of The Believers and Signs to New Age Records
After parting ways with Rise Against, Chris Chasse had no intentions of wasting any time; Instead he got creative and enlisted Brett Rasmussen of So Cal punk staples, Ignite. He also roped Dave Peters, vocalist of hardcore-favorites Throwdown, into jumping on board for a few tracks and it didn’t take much to convince Steve Jennings and Nik Piscitello, members of Californian-based Spark of Life, to fill-out the line-up.
"From the second I heard them, I was really hooked" says label owner Mike Hartsfield. "When you look at those involved, it would be impossible for Last of the Believers to be anything but awesome"!
Launching their MySpace profile on June 26th, it has been less then four weeks later that the bands page exploded with over 39,000 views; closing in on 50,000 song plays and 7,000 friends. They are already ranked number 38 out of 119,000+ hardcore bands on Myspace music, which is no small feat. PureVolume.com have already featured the band twice after Last of the Believers rocketed into number one on the sites Unsigned Artists Charts, while Alternative Press Music Editor, Scott Heisel has said, “This shit rules. Can't wait to hear more!” This reaction seems to be the general consensus of American fans who on pre-order alone have pushed their self released EP into the top 9 albums available through interpunk.com.
"The artists and bands that have come out through New Age Records have not only changed my life, and help define who I am, but have also stood for something that means the world to me" states lead vocalist Steve Jennings. "They stand for something that is bigger than music and bigger than a scene. They stand for honesty, staying true to yourself and trying to make this world a better place. New Age to me is so much more then music and bands, it's an ethic, and that ethic lives inside me today. I am forever grateful to New Age Records and Mike Hartsfield for being a piller in the hardcore community that has not swayed with terrible trends and flash in the pan ideas. Having a record on New Age Records is nothing short of a dream come true and all I wanted since I started screaming into a microphone".
Plans are being finalized for a 3 song 7" coming out this Fall/early Winter.
Two songs from the forthcoming SICK OF IT ALL tribute album — HATEBREED's version of "Ratpack" and BOUNCING SOULS' rendition of "Good Lookin' Out" — are available for listening on the Sick Of It All's MySpace page for the CD.

Blacklisted have dropped off their tour with Ignite and Set Your Goals due to some health issues with guitarist Tim Smith. Here's a statement from Blacklisted frontman, George Hirsch:
"Our guitar player has been sick for the last few days. So Thursday on our way to Baltimore he decided to go into the emergency room at John Hopkins University and get checked out. After a few hours of waiting, blood tests, a potential heart attack scare, and an overnight stay, we have found out that Tim has some type of infection around his heart. He will be in the hospital until Monday trying to get some of the fluid around his heart relieved. After that he will probably be prescribed some type of medication that will help him through the rest of the sickness then return to perfect health... However with all that said, The doctors told Tim he should be in good health in no time. If all goes well we will be heading out to Dallas on June 13th to finish the rest of the Guns Up/Verse tour."

Zoli Teglas of Ignite is currently singing in Maple Sound and Paramont Studios.
Ignite began tracking on November 14, 2005 with Cameron Webb (Social Disortion, Silverstein, Motorhead). This will be their first full-length album since "A Place Called Home" (TVT 2000) and it's scheduled to arrive this Spring. When asked about the ablum, Zoli stated, "This is turning out to be a much darker sounding album than anything that we have put out before."
Ignite is also busy locking down their touring schedule for 2006 which is going to include tours in U.S., Europe, Australia, Japan and Brazil.
Ignite have issued the following studio report:
"This is the start of the third week in the studio. Things are going really good and we are getting more and more excited about this new material the deeper we get in the recording process. Drums and bass are done and as of last night about half of the rhythm guitar tracks are recorded. Zoli is going into the studio tonight to start the vocals on a couple of songs. Guitars will continue on later in the week. We are going to go back and forth with Zoli singing and the guitar tracking so Zoli can get a good head start on the 18 songs. We are beginning to set up the touring schedule for next year….lots of touring coming up in 2006!"
Abacus Recordings continues to diversify their roster as they have now signed punk/hardcore band Ignite to a worldwide deal. Originally formed in 1993, the group has released albums with Revelation Records and TVT Records. According to singer Zoli Teglas, "It feels good to get the deal we wanted with a great label like Abacus, who give us complete creative control and the ability to get our music everywhere." Ignite will enter the studio in September with engineer/producer Cameron Webb (Social Distortion, Motorhead) to begin recording a new full-length, which will hit stores in early-2006.
