Sonic Syndicate Announces New Vocalist
Swedish metal outfit Sonic Syndicate has announced that young British vocalist Nathan James Biggs has been given the job as the bands new frontman.
Commented the band: “The search is over and the band is complete once again! Nathan is probably the best thing that ever happened to SONIC SYNDICATE since the discovery of distorted guitars and the work we’ve done together is by far the best we’ve achieved to date! He’s like the long-lost brother we never had and has also fused the rest of us together more closely than before. The rebellion has begun!”
Nathan added: “Something incredible and totally unpredictable has happened here! Not only have I managed to land myself in one the most promising bands in the world, I’ve gained a new family too. The energy between SONIC and I is electric and it’s producing some breathtaking results. We’re taking it to the next level. Don’t blink or you’ll be running to catch up with us!”

Swedish death metal band, Sonic Syndicate, has issued the following update regarding the departure of vocalist Roland Johansson:

In Flames have been nominated for three Bandit Rock Awards in the categories:

Sonic Syndicate Posts New Music Video Online
The brand-new video for SONIC SYNDICATE’s "Jack of Diamonds" is available now at their MySpace page. The video, directed by Patric Ullaeus of Sweden’s Revolver Film Company (In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Children of Bodom).
Vocalist Roland Johansson comments on the video: “We decided to team up with Patrick Ullaeus from Revolver Films once again, but this time we left the big white room behind. The video is about living in the 'High Life' that's just not reality – video games, girls, cars, and all the rest of that stereotypical propaganda. You're all 'LIVING IN A HOUSE OF CARDS, WAITING FOR IT ALL TO FALL.'" More...
Sonic Syndicate Sets Release Date For New Album
Swedish metal contingent Sonic Syndicate has announced an October 14 US release date for their upcoming album, "Love and Other Disasters." The album will see a September 19 release date in Europe. The crushing new release is a follow-up to 2007’s acclaimed "Only Inhuman," which hit #64 on the German album charts and #22 on the Swedish charts.
The band commented on the new album, saying: “After a long, insane year we entered the studio to record our upcoming album 'Love and Other Disasters,' and we couldn't be happier with the result. You’re definitely in for a high impact dose of adrenaline with songs like 'Encaged' and the first single, 'Jack of Diamonds.' By the time you get to 'Power Shift,' you’ll be running into walls, wishing you had some coffee to calm you down!”
"Love and Other Disasters" was produced by the band and Roberto Laghi (IN FLAMES), Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY) and Achim Koehler.

French metallers Gojira have revealed that their new album will be called "The Way Of All Flesh" and it's scheduled for an October 13th release.

Archer Confirmed For Sweden Rock Festival
Archer has performed with some of the biggest names in rock including, Heaven and Hell, Heart and Sevendust. The band is looking forward to sharing the stage at the Sweden Rock Festival (www.swedenrock.com) this summer alongside such metal giants as Judas Priest, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Poison, RATT, Triumph, Saxon, Disturbed and many more as they return to Europe.
The Santa Cruz, CA-based power trio, who won "Best Local Band 2008" in the Metro Santa Cruz Goldies Awards, takes the stage on Saturday, June 7th, opening for some of the biggest names in the metal music genre. The Sweden Rock Festival is held in Norjeboke, in the tiny village of Norje which is situated in Sölvesborg in the western part of southern Sweden.
Archer’s debut album "Doom$day Profit$" is a "genuine tour-de-force, rich with powerful songs imbued with that essential combination of brain-burrowing melodies, ripping riffs, pulsing basslines, tsunami drums and grab-by-the-throat vocals." The band cites influences that include Ozzy and Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Metallica and other legendary names.

Sonic Syndicate Finishing New Album
Sonic Syndicate are currently finishing work on their third album which will be thei second for label Nuclear Blast Records. The band's frontman Richard Sjunnesson posted this update:
“We're currently in the studio putting the last touches on our vocal tracks before the new album goes into the mixing process. Our new album is coming out very diverse and will hopefully have a little something for everyone once it's complete. We have managed to come up with the most solid songs in the history of SONIC SYNDICATE and we can't wait till the new album is released sometime after the summer.
The last 3 months have been amazing and on May 5th the good times will continue to roll when we start our upcoming North American tour supporting Scandinavian giants Nightwish. We've been big fans of Nightwish over the years so all of us are looking forward to sharing the same stage with them and hopefully take home tons of great memories.
We´re thrilled to get back to over to North America to kick up some dust, deliver quality gigs and do all sorts of crazy shit! See you soon!”

Revolver Presents Third "Hottest Chicks In Metal"
For the third year in a row, Revolver magazine presents its best selling "Hottest Chicks in Metal," the issue that flies off the newsstands and ends up everybody's favorite cut and staple on the wall. The issue goes on sale Tuesday, April 22 with all new photos done especially for Revolver. Led by TV fixture Kat Von D, who just hooked up with Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx, metalcore Bleeding Through's Marta Brink, death metal Sonic Syndicate's Karin Axelsson, deathcore Winds of Plague's Kristen Randall, and speed metal Light This City's Laura Nichol.

Sonic Syndicate Post New Studio Diary Online
Swedish newcomers SONIC SYNDICATE recently entered Black Lounge Studios in Avesta, Sweden with producer Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY) to begin recording the follow-up to last year's critically acclaimed "Only Inhuman" CD. Recording sessions will continue until the end of April, with the album tentatively scheduled for release in August via Nuclear Blast Records.
The band has posted the fourth part of its exclusive studio diary on the web site of the German edition of the Metal Hammer magazine. Check it out in English and German.
Sonic Syndicate Post Video Studio Report #1
Swedish newcomers SONIC SYNDICATE have uploaded the first episode of their video studio report to their MySpace page. The band recently entered the studio with producer Jonas Kjellgren (SCAR SYMMETRY) to record their highly anticipated follow-up to last year’s critically acclaimed “Only Inhuman” record. Sessions will continue to take place until the end of April and is set to be released in August 2008.

Sonic Syndicate To Enter Studio Tomorrow
Swedish metallers SONIC SYNDICATE will enter Black Lounge Studios in Avesta, Sweden tomorrow (Sunday, March 16) to begin recording their as-yet-untitled new album for a fall release via Nuclear Blast Records.
Commented bassist Karin Axelsson: "We can't wait to get started. It's been an amazing year and everyone has been writing new music like crazy at home and on tour. A lot of people have been asking what the new material will sound like and all I have to say is, 'Time will tell.'"
