Pig Destroyer will be hitting the road this summer for a handful of festivals including Hopscotch Fest (with label-mates Inter Arma and ASG), Basillica Soundscape in Hudson, NY and the Housecore Horror Film Fest in Austin, TX. A complete list of dates can be viewed below.
Frontman JR Hayes commented on the upcoming shows: "In September, we'll be at the Hopscotch Fest where I'm pretty sure we'll be making our NC debut. Only took us 16 years. Oh yeah, and Gorguts will be there to tech-metal your face off. The following Friday we'll be in Hudson NY in an old glue factory for a show/art exhibit masterminded by legendary cult director Matthew Barney. All bets are off for that one. Anything could happen. Relapse Records has released a new online compilation in honor of Pat Egan, who recently passed away. The label comments:
"Our hearts go out to our brother Pat Egan and his family. Pat was our Director of Sales for over 10 years and passed away on Monday morning after battling pneumonia. We have created a 20 song sampler to benefit his daughter's college fund. Any and all donations are very much appreciated. RIP Pat, we love and miss you!"
The Dillinger Escape Plan also commented on the compilation:
"On Monday Pat Egan, Relapse records director of sales for the past 10 years, passed away after a struggle with Pneumonia and related complications. Pat was a champion and great friend of Dillinger for years and we are very sad to have lost him. He work very had to get our music out to all you guys and now is your chance to show your appreciation.
"Here is a link to a compilation featuring songs by us and a bunch of other bad ass Relapse artists. All proceeds from the download of this compilation will go towards a college fund for his daughter Katie, a scholar and an athlete with a bright future ahead of her. All of the bands on this compilation have waived their royalties and Relapse is passing through all proceeds from the sale of the comp directly to Pat’s wife and daughter.
"The compilation costs a minimum of $5, but you are welcome to donate more than that if you would. There is no limit on how much you can give."

James Randall, vocalist of grind metal act Agoraphobic Nosebleed has posted the following blog online, offering his opinions on the Scion Metal Festival:
"You know “big metal” is fucked when it starts accepting petty bail outs from the auto industry via Scion.
There are two possible scenarios I’m entertaining here on how this came to pass- 1: some slacker nephew of some executive at Scion needed something to do exiting rehab w/ his unused marketing degree or 2: Scion is somehow hip to the fact there are a lot of aging metal dudes pushing 40 that are possibly in the market to buy their first new/real car.
In scenario 1. we have nephew dickin’ around w/ company money making a creative tax shelter for Uncle Scion.
In scenario 2. we have one of the most retarded marketing schemes ever to get smoked up in the history of advertising.
So the other day I was on the phone w/ my buddy Wood of MITB/Bastard Noise and no sooner does he make comment about INTEGRITY having a lack of… w/ their recent Scion showcase at the ROXY, I just happen to stumbled upon Murder Constructs new EP on Relapse coming packed w/ a “SCION presents” free MAGURDERGRIND record! I was like dude what the fuck is going on here? MAGURDERGRIND! Heres a band that was to “punk” to give Relapse a record but is down to float a fuckin’ “SCION” logo on the front of their album cover? WTF?
Now I ain’t some crust monk who’s taken some gutter punk vow of poverty, running around hating on mother fuckers trying to make a little coin off their shit -but I doubt there is much money changing hands here at all. Scion hit me up awhile ago asking if I was into doing a video for some band, me being a bit of a dirty car salesman myself hit ‘em back to find out what they where looking to spend and that pretty much ended that. As costs in the advertising/marketing world go compared to sponsoring a pro athlete or getting a actor to endorse your product “extreme metal” is a fuckin’ prostitute, jerk you off, blow you in your Scion xBS for a couple bucks. But hey Scion you get what you pay for -no ding dong is running out to buy one of your hipster crap wagons because you did some metal/hardcore showcase, your just publicly outing some poor band as your whore."

In the tradition of the legendary "Cry Now, Cry Later" compilations of the 90's, PIG DESTROYER / AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED's Scott Hull has brought together some of the very best of today's underground grindcore, hardcore, and power violence bands making up volume one of "This Comp Kills Fascists."
The complete listing of bands included is: AGENTS OF SATAN, A.S.R.A, BRUTAL TRUTH, CHAINSAW TO THE FACE, INSECT WARFARE, KILL THE CLIENT, MAGRUDERGRIND, MAN WILL DESTROY HIMSELF, SHITSTORM, SPOONFUL OF VICODIN, TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION, WASTEOID, and WEEKEND NACHOS.
A number of participants on the "This Comp Kills Fascists" compilation have posted audio previews of their new and exclusive tracks that will appear on the disc. MAGRUDERGRIND has posted "Burden," MARUTA "Chemical Tomb," A.S.R.A. "Pig Squealer," CHAINSAW TO THE FACE "Hating Life," WASTEOID "Bangover," TOTAL FUCKING DESTRUCTION "a href="http://www.myspace.com/totalfuckingdestruction">Human Is The Bastard," and SHITSTORM "Brainwashed." And BRUTAL TRUTH, who's contribution is the first new material from the band in almost ten years, has posted the brand new track "Turmoil."

In the tradition of the legendary "Cry Now, Cry Later" compilations of the 90's, PIG DESTROYER / AGORAPHOBIC NOSEBLEED's Scott Hull has brought together some of the very best of today's underground grindcore, hardcore, and power violence bands for volume one of "This Comp Kills Fascists."
"This Comp Kills Fascists" features new and exclusive material from such bands as recently disbanded INSECT WARFARE, MAGRUDERGRIND, KILL THE CLIENT, WEEKEND NACHOS, A.S.R.A, and more. "This Comp Kills Fascists" also includes the first new material in almost ten years from legendary grinders BRUTAL TRUTH and AGENTS OF SATAN.
Hull says of the compilation: "There are a lot of killer young bands out there with the same kind of vibe that was around back when Chris Dodge was doing Slap-a-Ham and Fiesta Grande was the all-important mecca to which every underground hardcore listener would make a pilgrimage every year. It was a lot different back then. There was no MySpace. No Ebay. You actually had tapes and 7-inches that you found out about in photo copied fanzines. You had to hunt this shit down. It was about discovery. You'd seek out some obscure split or tape, and when you got them, a million small flyers for other releases fell out of the package. If you were a band, you didn't have photoshop. Kinko's was vital to your band's existence and you learned how to tear out logos, steal artwork, cut, paste, cut, paste..." "I don't pretend to be any kind of grand poobah for power violence, but it absolutely had its own sound, attitude, values...it was it's own scene. And it seems there are both a lot of bands from the day that are coming back (Despise You, Apartment 213, Crom), that never left (Lack of Interest, Hellnation), and a LOT of younger bands that are re-invigorating that scene altogether. This comp is generally about a theme, but somewhat spread across PV, grind, and other hardcore elements. It's supposed to be a tribute to the way the underground hardcore scene should always be. Fast, loose, ferociously independent, unpretentious, and fun."
"This Comp Kills Fascists" will see its North American release on July 8th, July 14th internationally.
Pig Destroyer and Agoraphobic Nosebleed member Scott Hull will issue his first-ever solo release, "Requiem," in June via Relapse Records.

"Requiem" will see its release on June 10th in North America (June 16th internationally). Advance song titles from the album include: "Consequenze", "Visita all'ospedale", "Morte sul treno", and "Il funerale di Bonnie." Audio samples from the album can be heard online here.
