Die Apokalyptischen Reiter Announces Acoustic Tour

After two sold out acoustic premiere shows in Berlin and Jena, the wait is now over: Die Apokalyptischen Reiter will embark on the band's first ever acoustic tour featuring ten hand-picked shows throughout Germany.

Evergreens of the extended band history will be played in a whole new sound setting. Due to the overwhelming fan reactions, the trip down memory lane continues. The tour will take place in March, with a teaser trailer available below.

Commented the band: “When we first played some acoustic shows, two years ago, we had no idea whatsoever, how the fans would react. We’ve expected anything, but not that our die-hard fans would be those to mostly appreciate it and give us padding on the back. It was just magic, very close and personal. It gives us goose bumps time and again, to play those songs we wrote as teenagers with a totally different sound. We are psyched and glad to have found very special locations that will be the right setting for those concerts.” More...

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter Streams Acoustic Track

After streaming "Freitheit Gleichheit Brüderlichkeit" and "Was bleibt bin," Die Apokalyptischen Reiter now presents another track from the new double album "Tief.Tiefer." that is due out May 30th.

"Die Zeit" is the band’s first ever acoustic song and it can be heard in the player below. Commented the band:

"The recording sessions had a truly magical, special atmosphere. Unlike the rough first part 'Tief,' we decided to try new things with 'Tiefer,' things that have been appealing to us for a long time now. Newly interpreting old classics and entering new paths without alienation gave us shivers each time. We asked our video team to just film during recordings. A sweaty, intense performance during our loud shows can be very addictive, but we also enjoy slowing down. It’s definitely cool to play, sitting down. We’re already looking forward to our acoustic tour in the spring of 2015. The dates will be announced this fall.”

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter Announces New Album

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter has announced the band's new album will be titled "Tief.Tiefer." ("Deep.Deeper.") and will celebrate its 20th anniversary. Die Apokalyptischen Reiter comments:

"If there ever has been a genre we have been part of, we have definitively overcome its boundaries. Standing still, stagnation and rules bore us. Everything is moving. The world. Life. Thoughts."

To record the successor to 2011's "Moral & Wahnsinn," the band gave itself more than 1000 days and it wouldn’t be long till it came clear that the variety of ideas were not to be put on a usual record.

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter adds: “It was pure magic. Unbelievable and almost unreal. Though we’ve been making music together for so long, we still manage to amaze and surprise ourselves. Our wealth is joy.

"This time we have been composing far from home. We went to Ural and the Florida Keys, hiked through Riesengebirge, found solitude at Uckermark. And our rehearsal room was built out of a houseboat.

"Nothing was safe from us. Not even our own songs. We’ve learnt to seize the magic of a moment, just as well as the persistent transformation of a fleeting thought in a great song." More...

Die Apokalyptischen Reiter Posts New Webisode

In November, Die Apokalyptischen Reiter started a new YouTube series. The monthly episodes that will air at the beginning of the month will present an exclusive inside look on the creation of an upcoming new double album, which is scheduled for a release on May 30th, 2014 via Nuclear Blast Records.

In the third episode available below, the band takes you onto its houseboat and reports from a gig at the German Bang Your Head festival.

“There have been ideas and inspiration everywhere,” the band points out. “We went to the Ural and the Florida Keys, crossed giant mountain passages, found the solitude of Uckermark. We even turned a houseboat into a rehearsal room.

"Travelling is a main theme for us, since the records were done far away from daily life. ‘1000 Tage‘ (English: 1.000 days) is both a look back and a preview and, as we think this way of entertainment will have anticipation rise high.” More...
