Scar Symmetry Wishes You A Fantastic 2009

Scar Symmetry has issued the following 2009 update:

So, another year has come to an end. Our 5th as a band! A lot of cool things happened in 2008. And one very uncool thing. But everything turned out great, luckily.

The year of 2008 started while we were halfway through recording Holographic Universe. Our quickest recording session to date (merely two months!). Some months later the album was released, and we debuted on the Billboard 200 chart! Very cool indeed. Out of all the reviews we've read, it seems most people found themselves somewhere between enthusiastic and ecstatic about the album. A few reviewers didn't understand it, and we feel sorry for them... Haha!

Fast forward another few months and we found ourselves having announced to the world that we had parted ways with our lead vocalist. Crazy move, some people thought. Well needless to say, it wouldn't have happened unless we had some pretty good reasons. Shortly thereafter, we presented the new lineup - featuring two vocalists instead of one! Most people seemed to agree that this was an exciting direction for us to take. After taking the new lineup for a test drive all over not-so-sunny Spain we felt confident that the two singers-approach was a wise decision. More...

Scar Symmetry Wishes You A Merry Christmas

Swedish death metal act Scar Symmetry has issued the following year end update and shout out to the fans:

"First, a big thank you to Jordi/Stigia and José/Doomed Events for making our mini-tour in Spain a wonderful time, and CHEERS to everyone that came to the shows! We will come back to Spain for sure!

It was a pleasure sharing the stage with Rob and Lars for the first time. These guys really know how to put on a show! We did some songs we've never done live before, like "Holographic Universe", "Pitch Black Progress", "Deviate from the Form", "Prism and Gate" and "Artificial Sun Projection"...

Scar Symmetry wishes you all a fuckin' fantastic Christmas holiday!"

Scar Symmetry Reveals Two New Vocalists

Swedish melodic death metal band, Scar Symmetry, have issued the following update welcoming their two new singers:

"When things went from bad to worse and we realized that it wasn't going to work out with Christian, we were faced with two options; either calling it quits, or seizing the opportunity to take the next logical step in the evolution of our sound. We chose the latter."

"We've used both growls and clean vocals in our music since day one, and with each album we've pushed the envelope of what you can do vocally in a metal band to the point where a lot of the songs on 'Holographic Universe' would be hard if not impossible to sing live. So the question is: Is it really possible to push the vocals even further and manage to perform everything live?" More...

Scar Symmetry Parts Ways With Vocalist

Swedish death metallers, Scar Symmetry, have issued the following update regarding the departure of vocalist Christian Älvestam:

"Dear friends."

"A few months ago we decided to part ways with Christian. The reasons are mainly the clichéd 'business and creative differences' and lack of interpersonal chemistry. We came to a point where the band's existence was in jeopardy because of these differences, and the only way for us to continue with an inspired state of mind was to go through with this change in the line-up." New Scar Symmetry Album Tracklisting Revealed

Swedish band Scar Symmetry has posted the following announcement on their MySpace page:

"We're happy to announce that our 3rd CD, "Holographic Universe", has now been mixed, mastered and delivered to the people at Nuclear Blast Records! We pushed the "record"-button for the first time early December and the time since has been hectic and intense to say the least. We've worked our asses off 24/7 and the result is 12 new songs, featuring all the creamy goodness of "Symmetric In Design" and the spicy flavours of "Pitch Black Progress", this time with a lot of added cheese and pork-fat... Does it make sense to you? No, not to us either..."

The tracklisting for "Holographic Universe," tentatively due to hit shelves in June this year, is as follows:

01. Morphogenesis
02. Timewave Zero
03. Quantumleaper

Thank you all for being the coolest ever and for your kind support!"

"As goes for what the future holds, we will begin recording our third album, starting December 1st. So far we have 13 songs written, but we're aiming to have another three or four done, before we start sifting through the material, deciding which songs to include on the album.
