BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE will release its new live DVD, entitled "The Poison - Live At Brixton", on October 30. The disc captures the band's sold-out show in front of over 4,000 people at London's legendary Brixton Academy on January 28, 2006 (filmed with over 15 cameras), along with over an hour of bonus material, including the band's videos so far, EPKs and documentaries edited to songs from both "The Poison" and the "Hand Of Blood" EP, plus a behind-the-scenes look at the band performing at the Download Festival and the Metal Hammer Awards in the U.K. this summer. There are also eight mini episodes, which form part of Bullet TV and were edited from footage shot by the band themselves over the last 12 months on the road. As well as all that, there are lyrics to all tracks performed at Brixton Academy, and a photo gallery from the show. The audio was mixed by the legendary Colin Richardson (producer of "The Poison") and mastered in both stereo and 5.1 by Ted Jensen (METALLICA).
Look out for the guys on the road in November and December on their final U.K. headline tour in support of "The Poison", finishing up at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. The band will then enter the studio in January to begin recording its new album for a tentative June 2007 release.

The current reigning champ of all of the horror film franchises – Saw – will have the third and most psychologically intense installment of the series – Saw III hit theaters on October 27th. Fans of the series will be excited to hear that the Saw III Soundtrack (Artists' Addiction Records) will feature twenty tracks from of some of the hardest, bone crushing rock bands on the planet including: Blue October, Slayer, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Ministry, and many others. Brand new exclusive tracks from Static X "No Submission," and Drowning Pool "No More," are stand out songs on the Saw III Soundtrack.
Saw III (Twisted Pictures & Lionsgate) stars Shawnee Smith and Tobin Bell. Jigsaw has disappeared. With his new apprentice Amanda (Shawnee Smith), the puppet-master behind the cruel, intricate games that have terrified a community and baffled police has once again eluded capture and vanished. While city detectives scramble to locate him, Doctor Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) and Jeff (Angus Macfayden) are unaware that they are about to become the latest pawns on his vicious chessboard.
Saw star Shawnee Smith makes a cameo singing backup vocals on Hydrovibe's track "Killer Inside" on the Saw III Soundtrack.
"I've am a huge fan of this band Hydrovibe!," commented Shawnee. "Heather St. Marie has a breathtakingly beautiful voice as powerful as my character in the Saw films: Amanda. I'm thrilled our female fan base has a movie and a soundtrack to sink our patent leather stilettos into."
Here is the final track listing for the Saw III soundtrack (as well as a couple of audio streams): More...
I happened to be lucky, or unlucky enough considering the quality of the bands to win some free tickets via my local radio station to this show, and since it has been over a year since I've been to a concert I decided to go.
I can honestly say before the show despite being from Oklahoma City I had never heard of Rikits and there was actually another band on the bill that they had replaced, but they, in fact, were the ones who made the night worth it. They are a great 5 piece act, with a very heavy sound throughout all of their songs. The singing leaves alot to be desired but the band played a solid 5 song set. They sound a lot like Dry Kill Logic, so if you are into those types of bands I would highly recommend checking them out, as they are creating quite a buzz in the area, and have a very well put together guitar/bass trio.
The second band, Drop Dead Gorgeous, was screamo-core Underoath type and I am totally biased to hating this type of music, so I will just say they played a 6 song set, and the crowd was semi-into them considering the headliner I suppose this band was a good fit. They were from Denver, Colorado and apparently doing fairly well in the business, but I just could not get into them.
Lastly Bullet for My Valentine came on stage. I've never been a fan of the music I've heard by them, but I honestly haven't heard much. I heard that damn "4 Words To Choke Upon" all the time on Madden, so I was halfway looking forward to how they played it live. When they took stage the electricity in the small venue jumped. It was a max 1,000 crowd but honestly those types of shows are the most initimate and in my opinoin the best. Bullet For My Valentine came out strong with "4 Words" and to my surprise they were alot harder live then I could have anticipated. I was really pleased with the sound, and so was the crowd. There was a lot of crowd surfing, but unfortunately no moshing, which at 7 beers I was extremely hoping for. They played all of their singles, most of which have names I cant remember, but they did play "Tears Dont Fall" and their most recent single of which also cannot remember. I took my brother who is really into this band and he said they played really well compared to the album and did, in fact, play all of their singles as well as a few more popular songs from their discography. It was a decent show, and had I known about it, I would have been willing to pay the $10 just to see Rikits. All in all it was a great show.
Bullet For My Valentine have posted video and audio on the Internet for their latest single "Tears Don't Fall" from their album The Poison in stores now.

Tickets for the shows will start going on to the general public from the weekend of August 12th, with details of local box office and on-sale times at ironmaiden.com. This follows the recent announcement that their highly anticipated new studio album, "A Matter Of Life And Death," will be released by Sanctuary Records on September 5th.

It's going to be great to get out there so the fans can get to hear the new material and see the new show first for a change. We're all incredibly pleased with the album, and the tremendous response of those people who have had the chance to hear it so far. Their reaction has been phenomenal and we expect to play a lot of it on tour."
"We will be bringing the full show to America, which we are currently putting the final touches to, and we fully intend to make it as spectacular and memorable as we can. And of course, our mate Eddie has already booked a place on the plane with us."
On the topic of A Matter of Life and Death, Bruce comments, "This album has to be our best since working with Kevin Shirley (Producer). There is such a wide scope of musicianship on this album. Every one of us has put everything into this record and it's really paid off."
The upcoming North American dates represent the beginning of the "A Matter of Life and Death World Tour," which will continue into Japan and then travel through to Europe, finishing with two shows at London's Earls Court Arena just before Christmas. All the shows on the European leg have been on sale since March with the majority of shows already sold out months in advance.

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE were removed from the ROB ZOMBIE tour with LACUNA COIL after the band's guitarist/vocalist Matthew "Matt" Tuck slammed ROB ZOMBIE in an online post. Tuck claimed that his band was "not being treated well" on the ZOMBIE tour and calling the headliners "money-grabbing fucks" for allegedly seling their t-shirts for $40 a piece and making the support bands do the same. "As I write this, I'm sitting on the fuckin' floor of the venue 'coz we don't have a dressing room again, 'coz fuckin' Zombie takes them all for him, his band and crew," Tuck wrote at the time. "Basically, we are shit to him, but fuck it — if this is what it takes to get a name over here, then it's gotta be done. I'm not one to fuck around with words, so yes, we are not being treated well on this tour. Oh yeah, we don't get a soundcheck either. Fuckin' pissed at this tour, man."
A few hours after making his original post, Tuck returned to BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE's official message board to apologize to Rob and Zombie's crew for his earlier remarks, explaining, "I was really out of it this morning and let shit on the road fuck with my hung-over head. I'm truly sorry if any of my comments about this tour were out of line and totally exaggerated. This is our first real tour in the States and with lots of personal shit happening to me from home I just lost it. We really have been totally fuckin' thrilled to have the chance to play on this tour and are grateful for every new fan we make. It means everything to us to be able to play our shit for new fans. I'm really sorry to have offended anyone and look forward to putting this behind and getting back to the metal." More...

The nominations for the fourth annual Metal Hammer Golden Gods awards — which this year takes place on Monday, June 12 at Koko in Camden, North London — were recently announced. In keeping with the "Valhalla" theme of this year's awards, Metal Hammer magazine have teamed up with the crew of the "Hammer of the Gods", an authentic full-size replica Viking longboat, to launch both the awards on June 12 and the team's cross channel row, which takes place on the weekend of June 3 to raise money for charity Task Brazil.
Leading the field for nominations are longstanding rock and metal purveyors Roadrunner Records, with a staggering total of 14 nominations for the label that is home to acts as diverse as SLIPKNOT, MACHINE HEAD and award-nominated DRAGONFORCE. Coming in a very close second for overall nominations is major label powerhouse Warner Music with an impressive 11 awards for their roster of breakthrough U.S. rock bands MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE and AVENGED SEVENFOLD (a favourite of Radio 1's Jo Whiley), as well as Valley boys FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND and Finnish rockers H.I.M. In a complete whitewash of the category, Warner Music have secured four of the five nominations in the "Best Video" category, with the fifth and final nomination going to Roadrunner.
Going head-to-head with a joint total of four nominations are Sony and Universal, while EMI have secured two nominations for metal stalwarts and British institution IRON MAIDEN. Coming on strong is independent challenger to the rock throne Visible Noise marginally trails Sony and Universal with three nominations including "Best UK Band" and "Album of the Year", both for BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE. U.S. alternative rockers COHEED & CAMBRIA have surprised many with 3 nominations including appearances in the prestigious "Best Album" and "Best International Band" categories.

Candace Kucsulain confirmed that they will be perfoming four or five new songs from the upcoming album per night and Mike Hasty says of the new material, "It's definitely the most varied music we've ever written and it's a lot more anthemic whereas our older material was more about aggression than composition."
