Rock City Open Air Cancelled

Romania's forthcoming metal festival, Rock City Open Air, appears to have either cancelled or postponed. A message from black metal legends Mayhem reads as follows:

"Unfortunately, Mayhem will not perform in Romania next week as the whole festival has been canceled (or apparently postponed). We are deeply sorry for the fans who wanted to see us performing there. This is of course totally out of our control.

"A statement regarding the reason of the cancellation should be posted on the festival's MySpace page soon."

This news come after the recent news that Immortal, Blood Red Throne, Macbeth and Trail Of Tears have all pulled out of the event. The festival was scheduled to be held from August 20-23rd in Fetesti, Romania.

Arsis Added To Indianapolis Metalfest II Lineup

Nuclear Blast USA Recording artist and death metal act Arsis is confirmed to appear at the Indianapolis Metal Fest II on September 26th and 27.

Arsis joins label mates Dew-Scented, Threat Signal, and Bleed the Sky for their first-ever appearance at what's being touted as the "fastest growing celebration of all things metal." In its second year, the Indianapolis Metal Fest is setting itself apart from other metal festivals by highlighting diverse bands from all metal genres.

2008 has proved to be busy and successful for the Virginia-based Arsis, which is arriving in Indianapolis fresh off their summer "Trash and Burn Tour" with Misery Signal, Darkest Hour, and Parkway Drive and will hit the road again in November on the "European MetalFest Tour" with Morbid Angel and Kataklysm through the end of the year. Arsis is performing and touring with material from their latest Nuclear Blast Release, "We are the Nightmare."

Joining Arsis, Dew-Scented, Threat Signal, and Bleed the Sky at the Indianapolis Metal Fest II will be national bands Kittie, Divine Heresy, Mustasch, The Absence, Ekotren, Woe of Tyrants, Demiricous, Shadowside (Brazil), Level-C, Wykked Wytch, Obszon Geschopf (France), Green Jelly, Into Eternity, Daylight Dies, Destrophy, Skeletonwitch, The Destro, Gates of Slumber, Gigan, Black Chapel, and a number of hand-picked artists and regional favorites.

Kaltenbach Open Air Festival Confirm More Bands

Black metallers VREID from Norway as well as DESASTER and EXCREMENTORY GRINDFUCKERS from Germany are the latest additions to the billing of the Kaltenbach Open Air festial, set to take place July 18-19 in Spital am Semmering, Austria. German thrashers DEW-SCENTED have posted their new video for the song "That's Why I Despise You" at YouTube. The clip was shot in Gothenburg, Sweden with acclaimed director Patric Ullaeus from the Revolver Film Company AB (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL).

"That's Why I Despise You" comes off DEW-SCENTED's new album, "Incinerate", which was released in North America this week via Nuclear Blast Records.
