Band Photo: 10 Years (?)
From: Knoxville, TN, United States
Last Known Status: Active
Based in Knoxville, TN, 10 Years is an alternative hard rock band with an unique sound. Formed in 2002, 10 Years created a strong underground following with their independent release Killing All That Holds You. In 2005, 10 Years signed with Republic/Universal Records, entered the studio with producer Josh Abraham (Staind, Velvet Revolver) and recorded their debut album The Autumn Effect.
10 Years has evolved from a wake of high school metal bands, to the more melodic, heavy fusion of The Autumn Effect. More recently, 10 Years has opened for the likes of big name bands such as Velvet Revolver and Static-X.

MTV2 and Roadrunner Records have announced the release of the third installment in the successful series – MTV2 HEADBANGERS BALL: THE REVENGE. The low priced, double-disc is due in stores on April 11, 2006.
On the heels of the Gold certification of the first installment, MTV2 HEADBANGERS BALL, VOLUME 1 and the success with MTV2 HEADBANGERS BALL, VOLUME 2, MTV2 and Roadrunner Records once again set out to gather the very best in Hard Rock and Heavy Metal. The result is more than 2 1/2 hours of music on 2 CDs: disc one represents the strongest tracks from today's biggest rock bands, and disc two brings together the strongest up-and-comers from the underground rock scene.
In addition to the genre-defining anthems that represent the best of the show, there are enough rare and unreleased tracks to satisfy tastemaker metal fans as well. Packed with a total of 38 hard-charging tracks, this collection has 7 exclusive offerings. They include the Terry Date mix of Slipknot's "Before I Forget", and the live recording of Killswitch Engage's "A Bid Farewell", which both see their first CD release on this compilation. Other exclusives are brand new tracks from Hatebreed and Walls Of Jericho, both of which were written especially for this release (Hatebreed's lead vocalist, Jamey Jasta, is the host of the Headbangers Ball program on MTV2). A video for the Hatebreed track, entitled "To The Threshold", will air on video channels in March. A side project of Jasta's, Kingdom of Sorrow (which also includes members of Down, Crowbar and Seemless), also throws a brand new track into the ring. The compilation beat Dragonforce and 36 Crazyfists' record releases to the punch with fresh new tracks from these up-and-comers.

It was a cold evening in Columbus, Ohio on December 7, 2005 for a sold out Masters of Horror Tour at the Promo West/LC Pavilion. The opening act – Bobaflex (from Point Pleasant, WV) came out to warm the crowd up. The intensity of the band was stellar. By the time the band came off stage the crowd was ready to rock! More...
10 Years bassist Lewis Cosby and Sean Danielson of Smily Empty Soul nearly lost their lives in a recent gunfight in Washington, DC this past Sunday, Cosby recounted the events, saying:
"Shawn and I left the bar at 2:15am and were about 5 minutes into our cab ride when we saw 2 men standing with guns drawn. Scared for our lives we ducked down as bullets riddled the back seat of the cab forcing the cab to slam into a parked car. Multiple rounds tore apart the cabs body blowing out tires and shattering the glass. The gun fire and carnage suddenly ended not knowing if we were hit or not, we jumped out of the car and ran across the street to a gas station until the cops got there. When Sean and I went back to the scene with the police, and seeing the all the carnage that was caused we then realized that it wasn't our time.
We never think on our own American soil that we could be victims of such random acts of gunfire, until it happens to you! With all the freedoms and privileges we have as Americans we don't think that we would be faced with this type of violence as kids our own age in third world countries such as Iran, Israel, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc deal with on a daily basis. A bullet shows no discrimination. It only results in one thing, Loss. We need to stop losing and start winning together as one consciousness."

It's one of the more aggressive tracks on the record, just to remind everybody where we came from and who we are. Kind of give back to the core a little bit. It's a song that reflects what choosing this life forces certain people to do in a certain way — you have to remain guarded on a certain level."
The album's title track has been tapped to appear in the next NFL Madden video game.
