Formed in 2002, 10 Years created a strong underground following with their independent release Killing All That Holds You. In 2005, 10 Years signed with Republic/Universal Records, entered the studio with producer Josh Abraham (Staind, Velvet Revolver) and recorded their debut album The Autumn Effect.
10 Years has evolved from a wake of high school metal bands, to the more melodic, heavy fusion of The Autumn Effect. More recently, 10 Years has opened for the likes of big name bands such as Velvet Revolver and Static-X.

ANOTHER BLACK DAY
Knoxville, Tennessee's 10 YEARS will film a video for the group's new single, "Beautiful", with director Paul Boyd (THE ROOTS, THE CULT). The song comes off the band's new album, "Division", which is scheduled for release on May 13 via Republic/Universal.
The new CD follows up the band's 2005 debut, "The Autumn Effect".
One tune on "Division", titled "Focus", was co-written with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS guitarist Dean DeLeo.
10 YEARS has started to unveil its first tour dates in support "Division". According to the band's MySpace page, the group will play a single date in Nashville on March 19 before beginning a stretch of headlining shows and radio festivals on April 11 in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Drummer Brian Vodinh told The Pulse of Radio it's a great feeling to be able to play new songs on the road. "The bottom line is the new stuff is just fun to play," he said. "It's upbeat and, you know, every band goes through the whole same thing: when you tour behind an album for however long, even if it's just a year, it's just refreshing to bring out new stuff and, you know, have a different vibe onstage. We're really confident in the new material and I'll tell you, we'd better be after the nightmare it was to get this album done."
10 YEARS's new single, "Beautiful", has been posted on the band's MySpace page. The track comes off the Tennessee-based group's sophomore album, "Division", due on April 8.
10 YEARS began recording the new disc in June after spending more than a year writing the songs. Bassist Lewis Cosby told The Pulse of Radio that fans should expect a lot of changes from the band's 2005 debut, "The Autumn Effect". "I think this record really is so different from the last one," he said. "It's still 10 YEARS, people aren't gonna be like, 'Oh my God, you know, it's a totally different band.'But you couldn't take one song off this new album, I think, and put it on the last album and have people not go, 'That song feels out of place compared to the rest of the songs on 'The Autumn Effect'.'It just sounds like it would be from a totally different album, which was, you know, the goal." Knoxville, Tennessee's 10 YEARS will release its sophomore effort, "Division", on April 8. The album's first single, "Beautiful", will go for radio adds on on February 5. Another tune titled "Focus" was co-written with former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and ARMY OF ANYONE guitarist Dean DeLeo.
The band began recording the new CD in late June after spending the better part of a year writing, and bassist Lewis Cosby told The Pulse of Radio it wasn't an easy process. "This whole making of this album was a mess, and calling this record 'Division', like, you've got five completely different personalities," he said. "You know, we play in a band and we know each other forwards and backwards but, you know, outside of that, like, we're five completely, completely different people. And, you know, you've got five guys coming in here to make an album, and it's like pulling teeth there for a little while." More...

10 YEARS drummer Brian Vodinh has issued the following update:
"I can't believe I'm about to say this... but... the [new 10 YEARS] record is almost completely finished! Yeeeeeee-haaaawwwww! We are in the last few days of the mixing stage and it kind of feels surreal. We are all very, very pleased with how everything has turned out. Of coarse it was a long, tough road to create this album, but all the yelling and arguing has been well worth it!
"We had a really interesting time recording in Seattle. The vibe was kind of dark and melancholy and I personally felt kind of weird the whole time we were there. That wasn't a bad thing though, I'm at my best creatively when I'm in a completely fucked up mood. Strange, huh?
"Now that we are mixing the album the songs are really coming to life. This album has so many more little subtle nuances and textures than 'The Autumn Effect'. Also, this collection of songs is way more diverse.
"At this point we are just putting the finishing touches on the songs before we send them out to be mastered.
"On a different note, since we have been putting in some serious hours in the studio lately, we finally decided to take a day off and me and our buddy Ryan Williams (the SSL mastermind who is mixing our record) decided to take a day trip to Catalina Island. Holy crap, I strongly recommend you check this place out if you are in the L.A. area. It's like an hour boat ride from L.A. and when you get there you feel like you are in a different country or something. We decided to get up at 5:00 a.m. and get there super-early and start a day of hiking. The trail we chose was pretty brutal for the first hour or so, but the views made it well worth it. We hiked about 15 miles, at one point even reaching such a high elevation that we were literally walking through clouds! It was amazing.
"Anyway, we are in the process of getting our touring schedule straightened out and we should have news and dates for that very soon. Looks like we will be hitting the road in October. We hope you guys are ready!"
Knoxville, Tennessee's 10 YEARS has posted a demo version of a new track, entitled "All Your Lies", on its MySpace page. "[This] is just one of the many, many [new] songs that we have kicking around right now," explained drummer Brian Vodinh. "Since there are so many amazing and dedicated 10 YEARS fans out there we decided it would be a nice little treat for you guys to hear a demo and get an idea of what we have been up to."
In other news, 10 YEARS has tapped producer Rick Parashar (PEARL JAM, NICKELBACK, ALICE IN CHAINS, ROB ZOMBIE) to helm its sophomore album, which is expected to be recorded this summer for a late 2007 release. "Part of looking for a producer is taking all the records that influence you and have made an impact on your life and seeing who produced it and made those albums come to life," stated Vodinh. "Rick played a major role in producing bands coming out of the Seattle grundge scene in the '90s and how can you deny a guy who has worked with the likes of SOUNDGARDEN, ALICE IN CHAINS, and PEARL JAM!?" More...
Launch Radio Networks reports: 10 YEARS drummer Brian Vodinh has posted an update at the band's MySpace page about the progress of their second album. He indicated that the group has written 30 to 40 songs and is looking for a new producer after the initial production team didn't work out. As for the new material, Vodinh wrote, "We have punk rock songs that will make your neck cramp from trying to do that real quick punk head-bang type thing, to happy sounding poppy love songs that will make you wanna dance around in a field of really big flowers...I really feel pretty confident in saying that we have run the gamut of musical genres with all the material we have written."
Vodinh also indicated that the band has had "knock-down drag-out fights" with its management, in addition to dealing with a record label that is "just simply confusing," all of which has contributed to "building tension within the band."
He added that while "this has truly become the most difficult and confusing time in all of our lives," he promised that the results will be "the strongest 10 YEARS you will ever see" and "the best record we can possibly make."
The band was at one point slated to begin recording in February.
The next 10 YEARS outing will follow up 2005's "The Autumn Effect", which featured the singles "Wasteland", "Through The Iris" and "Waking Up".
Michael Scott Axley has been convicted of felony murder and aggravated assault charges after he punched and killed Andy Richardson at the Family Values Tour stop in Atlanta, GA last year.
The victim, 30-year-old Andy Richardson of Atlanta, was attending a concert by KORN at the HiFi Buys Ampitheater. Atlanta police homicide Detective Brett Zimbrick testified at the hearing that Richardson was knocked to the ground by a punch from Axley, fatally hit his head on the concrete floor at the former Lakewood Ampitheater and was punched twice more as he lay unconscious.
UPDATE: As pointed out by moko in the comments (and confirmed by other sources), Axley was indicted on the charges of felony murder and aggravated assault, not convicted.
