Witness it first hand, the sheer brilliance of these melodic metal titans!

"Arch Enemy guitarist/songwriter Michael Amott comments: ‘We're totally looking forward returning to Australia, you know we've missed the fans and the great weather! Although the tours in '06 (w/ Megadeth) and '07 (w/ Machine Head) were amazing in many ways, we haven't played a full headline tour in Australia since our first visit back in 2005. So this is long over due and we are more than ready to attack your shores once again! We can't wait to give you the full 'Arch Enemy Heavy Metal Mayhem' experience! Suffocation To Shoot New Video On Sunday

New York brutal death metal legends Suffocation will be shooting a new music video this sunday for the song "Cataclysmic Purification." The video will be directed by David Brodsky who has previously done videos for the likes of Arsis and God Forbid. The song will be appearing on the bands forthcoming new studio album, "Blood Oath" which will hit the shelves in July.

Speaking about the song, bass player Derek Boyer stated: "’Cataclysmic Purification’ audibly portrays a calamitous future approaching. With this song and the rest of the album I think we've maintained the musical integrity of the band while still having comprehendible brutality. ‘Blood Oath’ combines straight forward crushing movements with unsuspecting twists that will certainly entertain everyone from the avid SUFFOCATION listener to the 1st time innocent bystanders."

"Secondly the entire SUMMER SLAUGHTER tour of which we have booked the entire billing of SUFFOCATION, SUICIDE SILENCE, NECROPHAGIST and THE FACELESS for he BREEZE, has been cancelled. Of course we have tried to have this package play the BREEZE even though. Talking about SUFFOCATION and THE FACELESS chances aren’t bad, really. Winds of Plague Preparing For Summer Slaughter

In February of last year, WINDS OF PLAGUE exploded onto the metal scene as the frontrunner of the new generation of heavy music. With their innovative and high energy style, the band captivated audiences across the US and sold upwards of 50,000 units of their Century Media debut album, "Decimate the Weak." WINDS OF PLAGUE is now heading back in the studio with the goal being to redefine extreme all over again.

WINDS OF PLAGUE has now entered Sound Temple Studios in Ranch Cucamonga, CA with producer extraordinaire Daniel Castleman, who worked with the band on Decimate the Weak, to record The Great Stone War. WINDS OF PLAGUE is also extremely excited to be on board as part of the summer’s most extreme package tour, SUMMER SLAUGHTER, alongside Suffocation, Necrophagist, Darkest Hour and others. Dates for the trek are posted below and available at the band’s MySpace page (below). More blockbuster touring is in the works that will see the band through the rest of 2009!

Vocalist Johnny Plague comments: “This week we lock ourselves inside Sound Temple Studios in Rancho Cucamonga, CA with the up and coming recording wizard Daniel Castleman. We will leave a month later drained and beat but with a new 12 track full length named The Great Stone War. This is the first time we have had to create an album from scratch so we took advantage of the situation and built a themed, well constructed album compared to Decimate The Weak which I feel was more of a collection of songs.”

NEMHF 2009 Adds Third Stage

The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will introduce an additional stage this year dedicated to up and coming bands.

The third stage, sponsored by Deathcote Records, will be located at Chasers Nightclub, located behind the Palladium on the corner of Martin Luther King and Commercial streets. The main festival will be taking place at the Palladium.

“There are so many great bands and not enough time to get all of them on during the course of two days,” said festival co-organizer Sott Lee. “Adding a third stage is a great way for us to showcase some of the developing bands and it’s a terrific opportunity for these bands to play alongside some of today’s top metal and hardcore bands.”

The New England Metal and Hardcore Festival will take place on Friday, April 17 and Saturday, April 18, with the Atticus pre-party on Thursday, April 16. This year’s event is presented by Randall Amplifiers, Washburn Guitars and Eden Electronics. Metal Blade Records will present the main stage. Prosthetic Records will present the second stage.

The Atticus-sponsored pre-party will be a unique event that will be combining film and music, kicking off with a screening of official film sponsor Anchor Bay's film "Crowley," co-written by none other than Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson. The provocative supernatural thriller is the tale of a virtual reality experiment gone wrong, sending the soul of the British occultist Aleister Crowley into the body of a shy university professor. But even as Crowley creates all-new orgies of depraved pleasures and black magic, he is now preparing to unleash the ultimate occult event upon the world. Also showing is "Anvil! The Story of Anvil," a sometimes revealing, sometimes hilarious documentary about the legendary Canadian metal band. The movie follows best friends Robb Reiner and Lips as they make a pact to rock together forever. Their band, Anvil, hailed as the "demi-gods of Canadian metal, " influenced a musical generation that includes Metallica, Slayer, and Anthrax, despite never hitting the big time. Following a calamitous European tour, Lips and Robb, now in their fifties, set off to record their 13th album in one last attempt to fulfill their boyhood dreams. The film will be followed by a performance by the band itself. The pre-party will also be held at the Palladium. Admission is free with a weekend pass or $15 for non-ticket holders.

Prices this year are $40 for Friday, $45 for Saturday or $79 for a 2-day ticket that also includes free admission to the kick off party on Thursday. Tickets are available at all Strawberries, FYE Stores, online at tickets.com or by calling (800) 477-6849. Tickets are available now.

Suffocation Posts Studio Update

New York death metal legends Suffocation has posted an update from the studio, as they record their brand new album, "Blood Oath." The message from the band reads as follows:

"We've just completed another shift at Full Force Studios (6pm - 2am, typical shift). As for a progress report - we've completed all the drum tracking and rhythm and bass guitars as of this past Sunday. What we'll have left to do starting today is record guitar solos and getting Frank (Mullen) in there to lay down the vocals. We're looking to wrap it up next week and start rehearsing a set for the up coming Blood Apocalypse Tour soon after that. All in all, we can honestly say this record is SLAMMIN’ HEAVY and we got some nice little twists for ya' too. We look forward to crushing some stages for you all real fucking soon!

"Also, videographer Jon Bickford has been in the studio with us shooting the final segments (‘Blood Oath’ studio sessions and interviews) to be included in the forth coming Suffocation DVD!"
