Latest Exhumed News
Below is our complete Exhumed news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.

Oregon punk metal ruffians Toxic Holocaust will unite with California gore tacticians/labelmates Exhumed for a North American bout of live abrasions this Winter.
The chaos will prevail on January 22nd in Seattle and wind its way through seventeen cities before coming to a mutinous close February 9th in Sacramento. Special guests include Ramming Speed and Mammoth Grinder. The journey precedes the previously announced Toxic Holocaust and Exhumed European invasion set to commence February 22nd.
Comments Toxic Holocaust's gravel-throated ambassador Joel Grind: "I'm proud to announce our West Coast tour with gore metal maniaxxx, Exhumed. I guarantee no necks will be left un-wrecked after this onslaught of beer, waste and gore!"
Adds Exhumed head mischief maker Matt Harvey, "In our continuing efforts to drive our beloved van into the ground and rack up another several thousand gallons in complimentary beer, we're heading out with our friends in Toxic Holocaust to make some serious noise in 2014. It's shaping up to be a total rager, so come out and rage with us, you won't regret it!" More...
In honor of an upcoming combo assault with hardcore thrash miscreants Iron Reagan, today the gorelords in Exhumed expel a new canticle of chaos in the form of "Gravewalker."
Comments Matt Harvey, minister of diseased death rattles and obscene elegies: "In between our seemingly endless road schedule and recording a new album, we managed to squeak in some time to barf up a couple new tracks and cover songs for this split with our tight buds in Iron Reagan. They're a bit more stripped-down and nasty than the last album [Necrocracy], which was a lot of fun for us. This EP is all about cutting loose and getting down and dirty. We hope you'll join us in the grime and turn out for our week of shows with the Reagans just in time to have one last rager before you spend the holidays with your creepy drunk aunt who keeps touching your face at the table - you know the one I mean! See you mutants on the road!"

Said Toxic mastermind Joel Grind of the upcoming invasion, "I'm very excited to slaughter Europe with fellow maniacs Exhumed! No country will be left unviolated..."
Adds Exhumed's Matt Harvey: "We're super psyched for this run with our fellow mutants in Toxic Holocaust - should be a rager! We look forward to splattering your senses, drinking your beer and damaging a large number of our brain cells next Spring!"
Toxic Holocaust is currently on a U.S. Tour with Ramming Speed and In Defence, the remaining dates of which can be found at this location.

Today Exhumed is streaming rarities from the "Necrocracy" recording sessions. Illuminates band member Matt Harvey:
"Just like last time, when we entered the studio to record Necrocracy, our collective cup was runnething over. We knew the record would end up right around 35 minutes, but it wasn't clear just yet which tracks would be destined to end up as bonus material.
"It was a tough call, but 'The Beginning After The End,' and 'Not Yet Dead Enough' ended up as bonus material, as did the outro 'E Pluribus Mortem' that we worked up in the jam room only a few days before recording. We also came up with a short nasty one right before we entered the studio that became 'Chewed Up, Spit Out' and while we were tracking the drums we wrote another blaster, 'Go For The Throat.'
"We were originally trying to get Relapse to do a split of some kind with these two tracks, but it didn't come together and we thought they were too much fun to keep to ourselves, so you can enjoy them here. For those of you wishing we still wrote one minute songs, here you go! Think of Necrocracy as the malignant main dish and these morbid morsels as some superlative side dishes that should enhance your dining experience. Cheers, and enjoy! See you mutants on the road!"
Knee your Monday in the ‘nads with a full stream of "Necrocracy," the latest full-length of filth from West Coast gore weavers Exhumed! You can now check out the full album stream below, courtesy of MetalSucks.net.
"Necrocracy" was recorded at Arcane Digital Recording in Chandler, Arizona with Ryan Butler (Misery Index, Landmine Marathon, Phobia) while the drums were tracked at Trench Studios in Corona, California with John Haddad (Hirax, Abysmal Dawn, Intronaut).
The "Necrocracy" album will be released via Relapse Records in North America on August 6th, 2013, August 2nd, 2013 in Germany/Benelux, and August 5th, 2013 in the UK/world and come available in CD, LP, deluxe LP and digital formats. More...
As West Coast gore crew Exhumed prepares to drop a fifth official studio full-length, "Necrocracy," upon society in two weeks, today the title track of the splatter platter has been exposed through Invisible Oranges. Give the song a listen below.
Stated founding mouth/throat/axe Matt Harvey on the track’s creation: “Not only is this the title track for our new record (duh), it was the first song we finished putting together for the writing process and helped set the tone for the record. It's big, nasty and heavy, like your weird drunk aunt that smells like Funyons and laughs too loud at Thanksgiving dinner. This one has a little of everything, dual geetar action, fist pumping build ups, rapid fire drum fills and all the gore and grime you've come to expect from an exhumed track. Check it out and piss off some neighbors!”
Exhumed's ongoing European Takeover is wrapping up this week, to be immediately followed by an official LA release party for "Necrocrac"y on August 8th. The Fall months will see the bastards hitting the streets again for a month-long North American trek with labelmates Dying Fetus. More...
Today Loudwire is bringing the latest tones of torment from West Coast death grind deviants, Exhumed.
Titled "Sickened," the track is featured on the band’s impending "Necrocracy" full-length. Check out "Sickened" at this location.
Notes Matt Harvey of the tune: “‘Sickened’ is probably our bassist Bodybag Babcock's favorite tune on the record, and may be the thrashiest tune we came up with for the record. It's fast, nasty and while hashing it out in the rehearsal room, we referred to the bridge section as the ‘Bay Area pit starter riff,’ which quickly endeared us to the song.
"We're definitely planning on including this in our live set when we head out with Dying Fetus this Fall, so get your puffy white hi-tops ready to run in a circle at the appropriate moments. Lyrically, this is a nasty little tale with a slight historical twist -- it's basically about getting the bubonic plague, and not just twisted gory fate it brings, but the despair and isolation the disease brought, as our putrid protagonist's contagious condition causes him to be shunned by family and friends. So it's a real upper. Anyway, turn it up, pound a beer, find a friend, and then hit them.”

With over two decades of gruesome grinding under the belts, you might assume West Coast horror hellions would be ready to slow down. You’d be deathly wrong. A true work of sonic repulsion, Exhumeds upcoming "Necrocacy" full-length is the band’s political manifesto for a new dark day. There is no democracy, no equal rights, no freedom of choice -- bow down to your one true master: THE SAW!
Comments Matt Harvey, he of the decrepit death rattle and repugnant requiems: "We're super pumped that 2013 will see the release of Necrocracy. We think it's our heaviest record to date and we can't wait to start playing the new tunes on the road. The album is a bit hookier and meatier than All Guts... and we hope all you maniacs enjoy it. You should find a few more tunes on this one to bang your head and get wasted to! See you on the road or on the slab! Cheerz!"
"Necrocracy" will be released via Relapse Records in North America on August 6th, 2013, August 2nd, 2013 in Germany/Benelux and August 5th, 2013 in the UK/world and come available in CD, LP, Deluxe LP and digital formats. The track listing is:

Death metal powerhouse Dying Fetus has announced a North American headline tour for this fall. The tour is presented by Metal Sucks and Converse and kicks off October 5th in Wilmington, NC, running through November 2nd in Springfield, VA.
The tour features support from label mates Exhumed and Devourment, as well as Waking the Cadaver (10/4-10/19), Abiotic, and Rivers of Nihil (10/26-11/2).
Special VIP packages that include a general admission ticket, an exclusive Dying Fetus "herbal grinder," a meet and greet with the band, limited edition 20 Year Anniversary Poster, and VIP souvenir laminate will be available for purchase here. General admission tickets go on sale this Friday.
It has also been confirmed that Dying Fetus has re-signed with long time record label Relapse Records. The band commented on the signing:
"We have an addiction and have relapsed with Relapse Records. Relapse Records will remain your one stop shop for all things Dying Fetus. Re-signing with Relapse Records seemed like the right thing to do for the band as both Dying Fetus and Relapse Records have grown over the years. So our fans can look forward to more brutality from both parties."
The band will also return to Europe this summer. The tour begins July 24th in Slovenia and runs through August 18th in France. A full list of tour dates can be found below. More...
This year marks 15 years of Obscene Extreme and to celebrate the occasion the organizers of the festival decided to go all out in extreme style by hosting an additional three festivals in three additional continents.
Over the last few months Obscene Extreme has appeared in Mexico City - Mexico, Jakarta - Indonesia, and Melbourne - Australia. There has been much success but also some failures and after some time at home to reflect on the adventure the man behind the whole idea, Curby, has spoken about the experience on the run up to the final Obscene Extreme Festival in Czech Republic this July:
"Hello freaks!!! This is Curby/obscene... I believe that you our loyal OEF fans have followed us on our tour so you probably know what happened but for those who haven't I would like to sum up our first ever OEF World tour. When I was pondering over our plans for the World tour I was really full of enthusiasm (and actually I still am). I hoped for something new but our first world volume was a really tough game, not only financially but also emotionally. It's very difficult to understand how big differences are between Europe, Mexico and Indonesia... I knew it would be different, but so much? What can you do if you pay everything in advance as in Mexico and people don't work at all? Not much... when you read my statements for every continent, you`ll understand me... More...
West Coast gore deviants Exhumed will take to the streets again this April on a near month long North American rampage alongside headliners Suffocation.
The live assaults commence April 4th on Long Island, New York and will level nearly two dozen cities before coming to a close in April 28th in Hartford, Connecticut. Additional support will be provided by Jungle Rot, Rings of Saturn, Adimiron and Lord of War (on select dates).
Says Exhumed’s Matt Harvey, “We're beyond psyched to hit the road with long-time faves of ours, Suffocation. This tour will bring all you maniacs one of the heaviest nights of your lives! We couldn't think of a better way to start our tour cycle for 2013 and get people stoked for our upcoming record. We will be debuting some new tracks and have a new show and set ready to melt your face and make you reevaluate your life decisions. We’ll see all your ugly faces in April for a celebration of guts, grog and grotesqueries! Excelsior!”
Coinciding with the tour kick off, the May 2013 issue of Decibel offers up a brand new Exhumed flexi featuring the track "The Beginning After the End," taken from the band’s recently completed recording sessions.
Elaborates Harvey: “We're totally psyched about the Decibel flexi! I remember getting the D.R.I. Manifest Destiny flexi in RIP Magazine and the Sabbat Blood For The Blood God flexi in White Dwarf back in the day, so it's killer to carry on in that tradition. We've talked about doing it ever since we got back together, so I'm more surprised that [editor Albert] Mudrian actually let me write about the SF Giants [included in the baseball preview of the same issue], to be honest. But anyway, the track ‘The Beginning After The End’ is something we did during the latest recording sessions, so it will give folks some idea of the sound and vibe of the new record. Hopefully this track will inspire some curiosity and headbanging, as well as increase the sales of Natural Ice beer and home pregnancy tests. It's also part of our incredibly savvy and calculated promotional campaign designed to get as many of you filthy maniacs out in force for our tour with Suffocation this month, so come on down and let's get weird!” More...
American death metal legends Suffocation have announced that they will be embarking on a tour of North America this April in what is being dubbed the "Despise The World" tour.
Joining them on the trek will be Exhumed, Jungle Rot, Rings Of Saturn, Adimiron and on select dates, Lord Of War. The tour is in support of the new Suffocation album, "The Pinnacle of Bedlam," which was released this past week through Nuclear Blast Records.
Speaking about the tour, the band stated: "The Pinnacle of Bedlam is approaching! Together with Exhumed, Jungle Rot, Rings Of Saturn, Adimiron, and Lord Of War we will tip the scales of degradation. Fans can prepare to see us performing old and new songs with surgical precision. The hooded messenger of death is now set forth!"

Relapse Records has released a new online compilation in honor of Pat Egan, who recently passed away. The label comments:
"Our hearts go out to our brother Pat Egan and his family. Pat was our Director of Sales for over 10 years and passed away on Monday morning after battling pneumonia. We have created a 20 song sampler to benefit his daughter's college fund. Any and all donations are very much appreciated. RIP Pat, we love and miss you!"
The Dillinger Escape Plan also commented on the compilation:
"On Monday Pat Egan, Relapse records director of sales for the past 10 years, passed away after a struggle with Pneumonia and related complications. Pat was a champion and great friend of Dillinger for years and we are very sad to have lost him. He work very had to get our music out to all you guys and now is your chance to show your appreciation.
"Here is a link to a compilation featuring songs by us and a bunch of other bad ass Relapse artists. All proceeds from the download of this compilation will go towards a college fund for his daughter Katie, a scholar and an athlete with a bright future ahead of her. All of the bands on this compilation have waived their royalties and Relapse is passing through all proceeds from the sale of the comp directly to Pat’s wife and daughter.
"The compilation costs a minimum of $5, but you are welcome to donate more than that if you would. There is no limit on how much you can give."

After a short touring break following a massive assault with Napalm Death and Municipal Waste, gore metal purveyors Exhumed will take sonic raucousness to the streets once again this week.
This time the road warriors will be systematically blasting their home state of California alongside grind cohorts Phobia - the frenzy will begin tomorrow, February 15th in Lancaster, followed by beatings in San Diego, San Luis Obispo, Fullerton, Ventura, Santa Cruz, Modesto, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco on the nine city assault.
Stated Exhumed's Matt Harvey on the affair: “We haven't played a show in... well; it's been over a month, so things have been way too quiet. So we're psyched to get into some of the nooks and crannies of the golden state with our old buddies in Phobia. We've totally re-vamped our set, and we'll be rolling out a track from the new record this time around as well, so the show will be all new even for our friends and family locally who've been subjected to our racket a few times recently already. We've been talking about getting on the road with Shane the pain and crew for a long time, so this little jaunt is well overdue. We hope to see a bunch of mutants, maniacs, earth dogs, rivet heads, gorehounds, toe cutters and eye gougers out there on the road! Cheers!" More...
California gore lords Exhumed will return to the road this February alongside grind behemoths Phobia. The short West Coast beat down will commence February 15th in Lancaster, California and conclude February 23 in San Francisco.
The latest stretch of dates follows Exhumed’s maniacal run with Napalm Death and Municipal Waste at the end of the year, which was met with a host of hurdles including being denied entry into Canada and vehicular failure that left them temporarily stranded in Alabama. Comments vocalist/guitarist Matt Harvey:
“As happy as we were to get home for the holidays, we thought we should make time to hang out with our old friends in Phobia and grind through our home state of California. We had so much fun playing out-of-the-way places during the impromptu one-off dates we did during the Napalm Death/Municipal Waste tour, we thought we would hit some nooks and crannies back home that we haven't played in years. Plus, we'll get a chance to get a bunch of our buddies' bands on the bill like POOR, Gravehill, DIS and Mortuous. We've been itching to play some stuff from the new album live and we're working out a seriously revamped setlist for this one, so come on out California! Let's have a few beers, let it loose, and get weird!" More...
