Vocalist Mary Zimmer of Luna Mortis has issued the following update:
"As a lot of you guys have noticed, we have been announced as the direct support for Primal Fear in North America from the end of May-June of 2010. This is true, we are really excited about the tour, I am going to post the dates today. It's going to be a great tour, covering more of the US this time, including Texas and some southern areas we have never played before. We look forward to going out on the road with Primal Fear, who are an excellent band and terrific musicians."
"The next thing that a few of you have messaged my personal profile about is the fact that we now appear listed in the 'alumni' list of the Century Media website. This is because we are in fact, being dropped by Century Media and will not be releasing another record with them. Does this mean Luna Mortis will not be releasing another album? No. It just means that soon, we will be label-less and have a few decisions to make about what our next move will be and what we'd like to do in regard to the future of the band." More...

Germany's Primal Fear have issued the following recap of their "Viva La Swabia" tour:
"We're back home and the ‘Viva La Swabia’ tour and after some day of rest, we just want to say THANK YOU to our fans for an exciting year and some unforgettable moments. The feedback on our new album ‘16.6 –Before The Devil Knows You’re Dead’ was a great positive surprise and the second highest chart entry in Germany (#46) for Primal Fear. Other cool chart information from Sweden and Japan followed.
"We started our ‘16.6’ tour in Moscow this year and after some festivals, we returned to South America with special guests „Sinner’. Our guitarist Magnus became father of twins and again (like in 1999 and 2007) Alex Beyrodt was the man fort he job. The adventure started..... and the question was: how can you survive 8 days without sleep - the shows in Mexico, Colombia, Argentina and Brazil were fantastic and even we came home exhausted & jetlagged, everyone was satisfied. After some days of rest, we started our first little headlining tour through North America. We expected just a new start of our activities there, but most of the shows were a blast, especially Los Angeles, Atlanta, New York & Montreal. More...

Germany's Primal Fear has issued the following tour diary from their South American tour:
"At the beginning of August, Primal Fear and Special Guest Sinner traveled to South America to play four shows in four countries in five days. This meant: Maximum Rock’n’Roll, amazing fans and almost zero sleep. Prepare for take off!
"Two bands, three techs, that’s a lot of people. And it has been a while that we started from Stuttgart with six guys. Among us is our latest addition, drum tech Tommy, who fits very well into the Primal Fear camp. We’re also especially happy that our long time friend Duce is making his comeback as guitar tech, now that he is usually travelling with Children Of Bodom all the time. For a massive trip like this it’s good to know you have good people with you. This of course includes our master of sound, Achim Köhler (a.k.a. ‘the guy called Coca Kohler’), and the legendary Klaus Sperling on drums with Sinner. After the easiest check-in ever we’re flying to Frankfurt and then without much further ado to Mexico City - on a 12hr flight! But: Kohler has entered the Business Class! More...

"We're ecstatic to be playing with Primal Fear in Los Angeles, there's no doubt about that! Personally, I'm beside myself given I truly love Primal Fear. They've been my favorite band for the last five years and they have really opened by eyes and ears in terms of playing great melodic German power metal. I've been a fan of Ralf since his days with Gamma Ray, and now to be sharing the stage with him and Primal Fear...it's incredible! It's going to be one hell of an evening filled with fantastic heavy metal. Our fans can't wait!"

Commented PRIMAL FEAR frontman Ralf Scheepers: "It's very unusual for one band member to see and listen how the other band member is delivering the goods on his instrument. When we perform together live, you can also judge what's going on each instrument but not as clear and obvious as in the studio where you can concentrate on each tone or note or beat from your mates. From what I have heard so far, I can really say it's the best performance I have ever heard from Randy [Black] on the drums and also from Henny [Wolter] on the guitar. Of course, some people might think, 'What else should he say, he has to promote the new album and that’s what every musician would say just to keep the ball running.' But these words are my true impression and I really can't wait for Magnus [Karlsson, guitar] and Mat [Sinner, bass] to nail their parts to see the whole building growing and growing."
PRIMAL FEAR earlier in the year parted ways with guitarist Stefan Leibing and replaced him with Magnus Karlsson (ALLEN/LANDE, STARBREAKER).
The band's latest album, "New Religion," last year landed on the Swedish chart at No. 67. It also entered the German chart at No. 60. The CD was released in the U.S. on January 29 via Locomotive/Ryko. Guest musicians on the album include Kai Hansen (GAMMA RAY, ex-HELLOWEEN) and Simone Simons (EPICA).
Primal Fear vocalist Ralf Scheepers has posted the following update online:
"Just a brief impression from my point of view to what's happening in the studio these days.
"It's very unusual for one band member to see and listen how the other band member is delivering the goods on his instrument. When we perform together live, you can also judge what's going on each instrument but not as clear and obvious as in the studio where you can concentrate on each tone or note or beat from your mates.
"From what I have heard so far I can really say it's the best performance I have ever heard from Randy (Black) on the drums and also from Henny (Wolter) on the guitar. German power metallers Primal Fear have posted the following update:
"Well, the time has come to start officially with the writing sessions for our new album!
"We will be in Sweden at Magnus studio in September to write a bunch of new tracks and do some pre-production. We've collected already some ideas and it sounds very promising.
"We will try to keep the great vibe of the live shows in the band... Of course, we will try to surprise all of you again with a new direction :-)
