POWERMAN 5000 recently parted ways with guitarists Johnny Heatley and Terry Corso but has yet to officially announce their replacements.
Fangoria.com paid a visit to the set of POWERMAN 5000 frontman-turned-director Spider's untitled horror production last week, and brought back juicy info and pics from the downtown Los Angeles shoot. On the abandoned second story of a particularly decrepit building just off 3rd and Main, Fangoria.com writer Sean Decker dodged rats and the grim detritus of squatters (including used hypodermic needles, giving the set an all-too-realistic flair) while speaking with the director. "We're shooting it like 'Cops' with a darker tone," the spiky-haired Spider — brother of another frontman-turned-director, Rob Zombie — told Fangoria.com. Having recently pitched the idea (which he developed with "30 Days of Night"'s Steve Niles) around town and received an enthusiastic response, Spider was encouraged to go one step further in order to secure a deal. "The best thing to do was to shoot a short scene on my own to prove that the concept can work, so here we are," he said.

Flaw has announced their first show since the bands reunion in October. The concert will take place on March 11th in Louisville, KY with Powerman 5000 at Headliners Music Hall.
The band's lineup is as follows:
Chris Volz - Vocals
Jason Daunt - Guitar
Lance Arny - Guitar
Chris Ballinger - Drums
The band is in search of a bassist and plan to have a new album in stores by the end of the year. Additional tour dates are expected to be announced soon.
Industrial-metal rockers Nocturne have just confirmed their first show in over a year, scheduled for November 11 at the Whisky in Hollywood.
Joining Nocturne’s Lacey Conner (vocalist) and Chris Telkes (guitar) for this exclusive performance is Sin from Revolting Cocks on bass and Adrian from Powerman 5000 on drums. Xeo3 are slotted as the headlining act and the mayhem begins at 10 pm sharp.
After several years of extensive touring, Nocturne took a break last year to pursue other musical projects; now, with vocalist Lacey Conner (ex-Pigface) newly re-located to Los Angeles from Dallas, TX, it seemed fitting to perform the first show of 2006 in her new hometown.

The video for 'Wild World' - the first single from POWERMAN 5000's "Destroy What You Enjoy" album, out August 1 on DRT Entertainment, is now online. You can view it here.
POWERMAN 5000 has posted an e-card with a four-track preview of its upcoming album, "Destroy What You Enjoy". You can check it out at this location. The record is set to hit stores on August 1 via DRT Entertainment.
The band recently shot a video for the lead single, "Wild World". "We shot most of it in an abandoned crack house," vocalist Spider commented. "It should be pretty glamorous." The video showcases the band's high-energy live performance, and is being co-directed by Jeff Stewart and Spider.
"Destroy What You Enjoy" was produced by Mudrock (AVENGED SEVENFOLD, GODSMACK) — who also co-produced the band's major label debut, "Mega!! Kung Fu Radio" (1997) — and was recorded at the Hobby Shop in Eagle Rock, CA. The album was mixed by Dave Schiffman (AUDIOSLAVE, JOHNNY CASH, SYSTEM OF A DOWN).
In other POWERMAN news, the band is set to hit the road in support of the new record. Current tour dates are as follows: More...
DRT recording artist Powerman 5000 will release their much anticipated new album, "Destroy What You Enjoy," on August 1.
With a new label and a new line up, "Destroy What You Enjoy" promises to be the most exciting PM5K release to date. The album was produced by Mudrock (Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack), who also co-produced the band’s major label debut, Mega!! Kung Fu Radio, and was recorded at the Hobby Shop in Eagle Rock, CA. The album was mixed by Dave Schiffman (Audioslave, Johnny Cash, System of a Down).
"Destroy What You Enjoy" resonates with a crunch that brings the band back to their indie roots. Some of the album’s stand-out tracks include the anthemic first single, “Wild World,” as well as the trash-punk inspired “Return To The City Of The Dead,” and "Enemies”. “The sound that you hear on 'Destroy What You Enjoy', is the sound of a real rock 'n roll band,” comments vocalist Spider. “The drums aren't perfect, the guitars feedback and the vocals don't always find the right note. In other words, it's the best record we've ever made.”
Powerman 5000’s line up has also evolved to match their new album’s sound with the addition of guitarists Terry Corso and Johnny Heatley to the rhythm section of drummer Adrian Ost, bassist Siggy Siursen.
Listen for “Wild World” to hit radio June 19, followed by a national tour beginning July 7.
POWERMAN 5000 have inked a new record deal with DRT Entertainment. The band's recently completed new album, "Destroy What You Enjoy", was produced by Mudrock and is tentatively scheduled for release mid-July.
Commented frontman Spider One: "We produced and recorded [the new CD] alongside our old buddy Mudrock. He's the guy who co-produced 'Mega!! Kung Fu Radio' oh so many years ago. Recently he's had much success producing AVENGED SEVENFOLD and others. We couldn't be happier with these batch of tunes. . . I'm telling you, this is our best yet!!" More...

POWERMAN 5000 frontman Spider recently spoke to MTV.com about the band's as-yet-untitled fifth album, which they're hoping to release in early 2006.
Spider said the LP, which the band is self-producing, will have an "under-produced," stripped-down sound. "We're leaving in the mistakes," he said. "Kids aren't hearing those kinds of records any more — like the SEX PISTOLS — where things are out of tune, there are mistakes. Nowadays, everything's lined up to a grid on ProTools, and everyone's vocal is tuned to the perfect pitch. That's not what rock music should be."
"Every rock band comes out and makes that statement, you know, that this is going to be our heaviest album ever. I hate that. For me, I want to make the best record we can make — whether it's heavier or not, doesn't matter. Some of it will be supper-aggressive, some of it won't be."
Songtitles set to appear on the follow-up to 2003's "Transform" include "Heroes and Villains", "The Last Night on Earth" and "Treat Me Like a Stranger".
"We came out during the nü-metal explosion, and now, people talk about us in the same sentence as LIMP BIZKIT and sh--," Spider said. "We sort of got trapped in a world that we didn't belong in. We were put in a category with bands that I never really felt comfortable being compared to. But sometimes you find you get on this path and it takes you somewhere you didn't necessarily ever expect to be. So for me, this new record is going to be a statement. It's probably the record I should have made 10 years ago, the one that says, 'This is who I am, musically, and this is where my head is at.' "
POWERMAN 5000 are continuing on a U.S. tour aimed at getting fans ready for a new as-yet-untitled album, which is currently in the finishing stages and will be released later this year on frontman Spider One's Megatronic Records. Joining Spider One, drummer Adrian Ost, and bassist Siggy Siursen on tour and on the forthcoming album are guitarists Terry Corso (formerly with ALIEN ANT FARM) and Johnny Rock (formerly with HALF-COCKED, the first band Spider One signed to Megatronic when it was being distributed by Dreamworks Records), replacing founding member Adam 12, who left the band before the tour started (but will appear on the new album), and Mike "M.33" Tempesta, who left in 2004. More details about the album will be revealed in the coming weeks. Here are the current tour dates: More...
The Temple Theater in Tacoma is having massive power issues and will not be open for the rest of the week so Powerman 5000 has changed the show on Thursday, May 19th, to The Olde Shipwreck at 1941 Marine View Drive - their phone# is (253) 383-1144.
For those of you who have already purchased tickets, they will still be good at the new venue. There is however, a problem for those of you who already bought tickets and are UNDER 21- the new venue is 21 and over. The Seattle show at Studio Seven IS all ages, so if you still want to try to make it to that one, you will need to RETURN your old tickets for a refund and make a completely separate purchase of new ones for Seattle.
Powerman 5000 frontman checked in with the following report:
We had a great time at Mad Oak studios in Boston!! Everyone pulled out stellar performances, especially Mr. 7. You can all look forward to some exciting drumming on this record. POWERMAN 5000 are in the middle of a U.S. tour aimed at getting fans ready for a new as-yet-untitled album, which will be completed at Mad Oak Studios in frontman Spider One's hometown of Boston, MA during a brief hiatus from the tour after their April 17 show in Revere, MA. A majority of the album has already been recorded in Los Angeles. The CD will be released later this year on Spider One's Megatronic Records.
Spider One recently gave the inside scoop about what fans can expect from the new music on the band's web site: "Well, let's just say if you like calculated, bloated HOOBASTANK ballads or radio friendly nu metal or over produced, auto-tuned, cookie cutter rock, then you will hate the new POWERMAN 5000 record. Now, I'm NOT going to say the standard bullshit like, 'This is our heaviest, most brutal record yet.' That's so boring and predictable. Not to mention, not true. I will say that this record is raw and real. My goal on this one is to put together a bunch of songs that are meant to be played live. The kind of songs you could jam on with your friends in a garage band. I don't know, it is what it is. Rock 'n roll, punk rock, metal, whatever...it's PM5K. I'm digging it!!!"
