"We want to thank all of those who sent their guitarist applications to us. There were like 50 people applying for the job but of course there can be only one. Cool dedicated people from all around the globe showed interest. You know who you are!! THANK YOU!!!
"Although it seems like the whole planet wants to play with us we have decided to get a guy that lives nearby and is able to hang out with us as well as rehearse on regular basis. A guy that we knew from before and that has helped us out on several occasions with different Army related stuff. The guy is named Mattias Bolander and is a great choice for us. He is extremely talented as well as a great friend and is 110% dedicated in what we do. May he be happy and healthy in The Army for a long long time. And if you wanna know more about Mattias please visit the band section."

ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET frontman Johan Lindstrand (ex-THE CROWN) has posted the following message at the band's official web site:
"You probably remember that I talked about a special thing before the new album will be released? Well, the thing is that we're going to hit the studio in early September to record a Christmas single. It's gonna be entitled 'Christmas For The Lobotomizer'. It's gonna include one brand new song which will be the title track on this single. The same title as above.
Other tracks on this album will be three or four live tracks recorded during one of the many shows we've done this year. We haven't decided on which ones yet. The cool thing with this is that it will be released on a limited edition of 500 copies and you will only be able to buy it from the Nuclear Blast mail-order so you must act fast and hard if you want a copy. And the most important thing: This brand new Army song will only be available on this Christmas single. Release date will be around Christmas time. More exact date as soon as we know. Check it out!"
ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET released its debut album, "21st Century Killing Machine", in the U.S. this past spring via Nuclear Blast Records. The band supported the album release with an extensive European tour alongside Finland's CHILDREN OF BODOM and Hungarian hardcore/thrash metallers EKTOMORF.
ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET mastermind/lead singer Johan Lindstrand submits a report on the band's recent outing through Europe:
"We've just come home from a great tour with Hypocrisy, Soilwork, Amorphis, and Scar Symmetry. Everything went really smooth and all the bands got along very well. We had a lot of fun and we boozed around to the very maximum with roadies, labelmates, and fans. THE ARMY is now a well-oiled metal machine with a lot of touring and experience. We're building up a great band and we're here to stay... at least until we've done a U.S. tour, hehe. We've also done our first open air appearance EVER in Vienna at the Prater Festival on the 1st of May in front of 5,000 people. Reeeeally cool show. Other news from the camp is that we now have started to work on the next album already. Yes, we have like 5 - 6 songs in progress that we believe will be really fantastic. We plan to record it in November. Too early to reveal any details yet, but we have a lot of inspiration now and we're writing 'til we bleed."
ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET have been confirmed for 2006's Earthshaker Fest scheduled for July 21-22 in Kreuth, Germany.
Norwegian legends MAYHEM have been confirmed for the Gates of Metal festival, set to take place August 4-5 at at Folkets Park in Hultsfred, Sweden. The festival billing is shaping up as follows (in alphabetical order):
ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET
Around 16 bands will perform over the course of the two days, with a total of 5,000 tickets available, priced at 666 SEK.
QUEENSRŸCHE's "Operation: Mindcrime II" has sold 44,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at No. 14 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart. This is more than half of the total sales tally registered by the band's last studio album, 2003's "Tribe", which sold 20,000 copies in the first week and has shifted less than 75,000 units so far, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Meanwhile, the band's 1999 effort, "Q2K", opened with sales of 28,000 and has sold 150,000 copies to date.
QUEENSRŸCHE's top-selling album by far is 1990's "Empire", which was certified triple-platinum in October 1994 for sales in excess of three million copies in the United States. The original "Operation: Mindcrime" release (1988) attained platinum status in August 1991, while 1994's "Promised Land" reached the same plateau in December 1994.
In other chart news, LACUNA COIL's "Karmacode" shifted just under 34,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at No. 28 on next week's The Billboard 200 chart. The band's 2002 album "Comalies" has sold more than 230,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. A representative for the group's record label, Century Media, recently told Billboard magazine that the album has sold 500,000 units worldwide.
LACUNA COIL will be on the cover of at least a half-dozen metal magazines this spring. In addition, an April appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and a segment of "The Mix" on ABC News are slated, according to Billboard.
Another notable debut on this week's chart is POISON's 18-track collection, "The Best of Poison: 20 Years of Rock", which commemorates POISON's 20th anniversary and the band's career tally of more than 25 million albums and DVDs sold around the world. The album, which packs the group's biggest hits and fan favorites, opens with nearly 40,000 copies to debut at No. 17 on next week's chart.
POISON's "Greatest Hits 1986-1996" collection, which was originally released in November 1996, was officially certified double-platinum in November 2005 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of two million copies in the United States.
The following are notable heavy metal/hard rock U.S. sales debuts for the week ending April 9, 2006, as reported by Nielsen SoundScan (all figures are rounded to the nearest thousand, except numbers under 2,000, which are rounded to the nearest hundred; The Billboard 200 chart position included, where applicable):
QUEENSRŸCHE – "Operation: Mindcrime II": 44,000 (#14)
POISON – "The Best of Poison: 20 Years of Rock": 40,000 (#17)

EVERGREY - "Monday Morning Apocalypse": 1,400

Following Children of Bodom's US tour with Amon Amarth and Trivium, they will be heading overseas for a European tour. Hungarian hardcore/thrash metallers EKTOMORF and ONE MAN ARMY AND THE UNDEAD QUARTET, the new Swedish band featuring former THE CROWN vocalist Johan Lindstrand, have been confirmed as the support acts for CHILDREN OF BODOM on their upcoming European tour. The European tour dates are as follows: More...
Former the Crown vocalist Johan Lindstrand has posted the following message on the web site of his current project, One Man Army and the Undead Quartet.
The machine is starting to get warm, oh yeah! Things are really taking shape faster than expected.
We are now done with the pre-production of the six last tracks that will end up on the debut album, so I hope you can count to 12, 'cause that's how many songs the debut will include. And we do already have the title and the cover art finished for it but we will not reveal it just yet. It's not time yet.
Some other great news is that there will be an official release of "When Hatred Comes to Life." But on this official version there will be four songs. This will be released via Nuclear Blast on a limited underground edition only, and only via Nuclear Blast mailorder catalogue. The date is set for May 16. It will be sold as a package with CD and shirt and very cheap so watch out for it. Only 250 copies will be for sale.
One Man Army and the Undead Quartet is:
Johan Lindstrand (Ex-the Crown) - Vocals
Valle Adzic (Impious) - Bass
Mikael Lagerblad – Lead Guitar
Pekka Kiviaho – Rhythm Guitar
Marek Dobrowolski (Reclusion) – Drums
