As previously reported, to celebrate the release of their first-ever DVD, metal hardcore pioneers Hatebreed will hit the road in support of their first ever live DVD, "Live Dominance" (KOCH Records). This highly-anticipated DVD will be released on the same day as the first headlining date of this tour – Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008. SOILWORK drummer Dirk Verbeuren, who recently laid down the drum tracks on NEVERMORE frontman Warrel Dane's new solo album ("Praises To The War Machine"), has issued the following update:
"Right now I'm tearing up them drums with SOILWORK alongside THROWDOWN, THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD and WAR OF AGES just about everywhere in the U.S. Yessireee, the Scum Of The Earth Tour is a heavy-ass package to say the least! If you wanna feel that metal fist crack your skull, better get your tickets now on the SOILWORK website or MySpace — be fast while supplies last!
"And now for something quite exclusive and fancy: [Here] you can discover the artwork for the upcoming Warrel Dane album 'Praises To The War Machine'! This groovy slab of metal is due out on April 28th in Europe and May 13th in the U.S. on Century Media, and you can listen to the song 'Messenger' (featuring a guest appearance by shredmeister Jeff Loomis of NEVERMORE) on Warrel Dane's MySpace page. SOILWORK has been forced to cancel their Dallas appearance this evening at The Door with THROWDOWN, THROUGHT THE EYES OF THE DEAD and WAR OF AGES. The following statement was given on behalf of the band by their tour manager:
“Soilwork regret missing the show but the weather conditions prevented us from making the near 700 mile drive to the show from our previous night's headline show. We were stopped by an ice storm that nearly caused our bus to crash in the middle of the night. The roads could not be travelled. We are currently stranded in western Texas where there was an ice storm last night and everything is covered in ice. It actually started in New Mexico and I am surprised we even got this far. The roads are not drivable. They are all iced over and all cars and trucks are pulled off until they thaw. Being we are still close to 500 miles away and the temperature is not due to rise for hours our driver won't drive. The wind is strong and the bus was literally sliding off the highway with all the ice and we were only driving 15 mph. Last night we almost flipped the bus trying to navigate these roads and the bus actually turned sideways sliding down causing it to almost flip over. Looks like it snows in Texas when the Swedes come over here. Very rare.“
The 10th annual Facedown Fest will take place on March 28th and 29th in Pomona, CA at the Glasshouse. Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday, January 9th and will be $15 for single day tickets or $25 for two-day passes. The event will feature performances from War Of Ages, Impending Doom, Seventh Star (final show), Sleeping Giant, xDeathstarx, Inked In Blood, xLooking Forwardx, Means, A Plea For Purging, Kingston Falls, Remove The Veil, Wrench In The Works in addition to several acts yet to be announced.
As I Lay Dying frontman Tim Lambesis will be producing War Of Ages' upcoming album, which the band is currently writing. According to the group, "We've been hard at work with Tim these last few months constructing our new album. Our new material is the best we've written to date and you won't be disappointed." Facedown Records is expected to release the effort next spring.
THROWDOWN will headline The Scum Of The Earth Tour, which is set to kick off in February and will cross the United States (and some Canadian cities as well) through early April. It is the band's first headlining tour in support of their new album, "Venom & Tears," which was released in August.
Joining Throwdown on the bill for the Scum Of The Earth Tour, which is presented by Black Rose District Clothing, will be Swedish metal madmen Soilwork, whose own "Sworn to a Great Divide" was recently released to rave reviews from fans and critics. THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD are also onboard, touring in support of a new album of their own, "Malice." War Of Ages rounds out what is sure to be a devastating lineup.
"We haven't headlined our own tour in a long time, which is exciting," commented Throwdown frontman Dave Peters. "The most rewarding thing about playing our songs live is interacting and communicating with the audience. And now that our new album has been out for a few months, the songs have had a chance to really sink in, and we're looking forward to seeing people's reactions to songs both new and old."
"We're also very stoked to be touring with Soilwork who are coming all the way over from Sweden," Peters added. "And with THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD and War Of Ages onboard, it's a very strong and diverse bill."
"Venom & Tears" is Throwdown's fastest-selling album, garnering favorable comparisons to landmark records by legendary metal bands while offering newfound metallic depth and emotional complexity. Peters recently interviewed Sepultura/ Soulfly founder Max Cavalera for Revolver's "Rebel Meets Rebel" feature.
Throwdown have spent the last four years on the road as part of Vans Warped Tour, Ozzfest, Sounds of the Underground and as support for Machine Head, Soulfly, Lamb Of God, In Flames and As I Lay Dying, pausing briefly to write and record "Venom & Tears" and 2005's "Vendetta" album.
Soilwork is currently part of a massive US tour with Killswitch Engage and Lamb Of God. The band's new single is featured as a downloadable track for Guitar Hero III. THROUGH THE EYES OF THE DEAD will soon shoot another video with director Dave Brodsky, having taken part in a sold-out tour with All That Remains and As I Lay Dying. War Of Ages is busy writing the followup to Pride of the Wicked, which will be produced by Tim Lambesis.
The Scum Of The Earth Tour will be preceded by Throwdown dates in smaller cities on the West Coast with My Children My Bride and Arsonists Get All The Girls in support. Look for confirmed dates for that very soon.
"We're going to be stepping up our production on this tour as well, both sonically and visually," Peters added. "And with a bill as energized as this one, it's going to make for a great show all around."

Bleeding Through will headline a series of intimate club shows during the "off-dates" of their upcoming North American tour with Marilyn Manson and Slayer. War Of Ages will support Bleeding Through at each of the shows.
Bleeding Through will focus on smaller clubs in New Orleans, Albany, Las Vegas and other cities where the monstrous tour with heavy metal titans Slayer and iconoclast Manson will not hit during their days off. The Manson/Slayer tour and off-date headlining shows will coincide with the worldwide release of the band's new single, "Line in the Sand."
With a video directed by Dan Dobi (Cannibal Corpse, Paramore), "Line in the Sand" is the latest track to be released from The Truth, Bleeding Through's newest album which has been hailed by Revolver, Alternative Press, Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Billboard, Outburn, Metal Edge and other publications the world over.
The band kicked off the album's release last year with a massive headlining tour, followed by a co-headline slot on the Ozzfest second stage (their second Ozzfest), a fall tour with Senses Fail and Saosin, a European tour, and more.
Confirmed Bleeding Through off-dates (all with War Of Ages) during the Marilyn Manson/ Slayer tour are as follows: More...
After relentless touring (over 500 shows in the last 2 years) alongside of Terror, The Warriors, All Shall Perish, Full Blown Chaos, Becoming The Archetype and many more, War Of Ages took some time out of their touring schedule to go into Cathouse Studios (Nodes Of Ranvier, Bloodlined Calligraphy) to re-write and completely re-record their debut Self Titled album. "We felt like the original recordings of these songs lacked the heavy and aggressive energy that we put out through our lives shows" states vocalist Leroy Hamp. "We wanted the opportunity to showcase these songs in the way that they were always supposed to sound and it also gave us the opportunity to re-write some as well". As an added bonus, the band has recorded a brand new song titled "The Awakening" which many are calling the bands finest material to date.
"Fire From The Tomb" is 12 tracks of pure fury that is backed up by one of the strongest live shows in the genre today. Non-stop touring will follow the release of this album and the bands current presence on MTV2, Fuse, AOL Radio, Myspace and Pure Volume is sure to grab awareness of metal and hardcore fans nationwide. "The Awakening" can be heard on the band's MySpace page.
