Thaurorod Announces Nummirock Appearance

Thaurorod has been confirmed to play the mid-summer metal festival Nummirock, which is set to take place from June 23rd - 25th, 2011. Other confirmed artists at Nummirock include The Haunted, Legion of the Damned, Amorphis, Eluveitie, Before the Dawn, Teräsbetoni, Norther, and more. Thaurorod Comments On Power Of Metal Tour

Raskasta Joulua 2010 Shows Announced

This year's The Raskasta Joulua (Heavy Christmas) shows have been announced. In Raskasta Joulua, Finland's finest heavy metal voices sing and perform different Christmas songs in Finnish and heavy renditions.

Terasbetoni Reveals New Album Tracklisting

Finnish metal act Terasbetoni has revealed the tracklisting for its forthcoming studio album "Maailma Tarvitsee Sankareita." The album CD was recorded at HIP Studios in Helsinki, Finland with producers Juha Heininen and Hiili Hiilesmaa and is set for release on November 24, 2010 through Sakara Records.

Teräsbetoni Updates Tour Schedule

Finland's Teräsbetoni has issued the following announcement about appearing on two of the upcoming "Sakara Tour" shows:

"Teräsbetoni will join 'Sakara Tour 2010' for the gigs in Tampere and Oulu in November. The tour features bands Mokoma, Stam1na, Rytmihäiriö and FM2000 from the label Sakara Records, and covers the biggest clubs in Finland."

Terasbetoni Posts Recording Footage

Finland's Teräsbetoni has checked in with the following update from the recording stdio:

"Teräsbetoni has entered the studio and began the recordings of the yet-untitled fourth album, which will be released via Sakara Records at the end of the year. Recordings begun at the HIP studios in Helsinki where the band works together with Juha Heininen and Hiili Hiilesmaa.

"The video footage below has material from the third day of recording the drum tracks. In addition V. Rantanen explains the songwriting method of the band, how instead of bringing partly finished material to the rehearsals, each of Teräsbetoni's three songwriters makes complete demos at their home studio and prepares also additional written and sound material for others to learn the songs."

Terasbetoni Signs To Sakara Records

Finnish heavy metal band Teräsbetoni's fourth studio album will be published via Sakara Records towards the end of 2010. According to the band, there are already over twenty new songs written, and the recordings of the next album will begin in the end of the summer in Hämeenlinna. The yet unnamed album will be produced by Hiili Hiilesmaa, who also produced the two previous albums of Teräsbetoni, "Vaadimme Metallia" and "Myrskyntuoja."

Sakara Records is an independent Finnish metal/rock record label. It was founded in 2003 by the Finnish metal group Mokoma, and since then the label has added Finnish bands such as Stam1na, Rytmihäiriö, Diablo, YUP, FM2000 and now also Teräsbetoni. The traditional Raskas Joulu (Heavy Christmas) tour is on the road again already for the fifth time. The Raskas Joulu project consists of many well known Finnish metal musicians who will perform classic Christmas songs in their own style.

Terasbetoni Frontman Speaks On Eurovision

Jarkko Ahola of Finnish heavy metal band Terasbetoni has posted his thoughts on his band's performance in the Eurovision song contest. The band were unable to capture the victory that fellow countrymen Lordi achieved two years ago, finishing 22nd out of 25. Check out Ahola's message below:

"TERÄSBETONI got back home from Serbia just few days ago. The whole trip was a once-in-a-lifetime experience with all the great people, unique athmosphere and of course the main event: Eurovision Song Contest. 'Missä Miehet Ratsastaa', our contest song (entry), did pretty good. We made it through to the final, but something happened there and we didn't get too many points. But that wasn't the main goal, anyway. We got a great chance to play our music to the whole Europe and hopefully won new warriors to our side. More...

Teräsbetoni To Represent Finland For Eurovision

Teräsbetoni, will represent Finland at this year's Eurovision at Belgrade, Serbia on 24th May. This is the second time since 2006 since a heavy metal band has represented Finland at Eurovision. Lordi won Eurovision for Finland in 2006. Teräsbetoni will perform the hit single "Missä Miehet Ratsastaa" (aka "Where All The Men Ride Forth"), taken from their No.1 best-selling album, "Myrskyntuoja."

Meanwhile, J. Ahola, The lead singer of Teräsbetoni, is prepping for the UK June 16th release of the album "Reborn" by Northern Kings, a Finnish symphonic rock operatic supergroup comprising four of Finland's premiere heavy metal vocalists. Already certified gold in Finland, "Reborn" is being perceived as heavy metal's answer to operatic vocal groups like Il Divo and the 3 Tenors. Another Finnish Metal Band To Enter Eurovision

Finnish metallers TERÄSBETONI have been selected to represent Finland in this year's Eurovision Song Contest. TERÄSBETONI won the Finnish national selection with the song "Missä miehet ratsastaa" and will represent the country in the semifinal of the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest on May 20 in Belgrade, Serbia. The band scored a runaway victory in the super-final of the Finnish national final on Saturday, March 1. They picked up 38.9% of the votes, outstripping their nearest rival KARI TAPIO, who scored 33.9%, according to Kainuun Sanomat.

A video of TERÄSBETONI performing "Missä miehet ratsastaa" (which was composed by the band's vocalist/bassist, Jarkko Ahola) on Finnish TV can be viewed below.

TERÄSBETONI's new album, entitled "Myrskyntuoja", is is scheduled for release on March 19 via Warner Music Finland. Terasbetoni Post New Single Online For Streaming

Finnish metallers TERÄSBETONI are competing in the Finnish national pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. Their chosen track is called "Missä miehet ratsastaa" and it was composed by the band's vocalist/bassist, Jarkko Ahola.

In Finland there will be three semifinal rounds in the national pre-selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, including the third one on February 22, which will feature TERÄSBETONI. The songs to be performed in each round will be introduced for first time to the public on the preceding Monday on the radio station Radio Suomi. From the semifinals, eight songs will be selected to the Finnish finals, which will be held on March 1 at Kulttuuritalo in Helsinki. More Tuska Open Air Details Revealed

Tuska Open Air Metal Festival has added more international and Finnish acts to the 2005 roster. The line-up is almost complete with only 1 more artist to be added for Saturday afternoon as well as the winner from the band contest at Rotonde-Festival, France, which is to be held later this spring. This year's Tuska-Festival is more international than ever, with nearly half of the artists coming from abroad. The evening clubs will most likely see some international action as well.

New additions in Finnish professionalism will be represented by Apocalyptica, whose cello metal is witnessed way too rarely on their native soil. Apocalytica just recently supported Rammstein on their European tour and appeared stateside on a few selected dates.

German precision and universal greatness is brought to you by the mighty Gamma Ray. The band last appeared on the bill at Tuska 2000 and have since built their fanbase by selling out club shows on a regular basis.

Other additions include up-and-coming death metallers Amoral, Finnish-singing Stam1na and Viikate, as well as Callisto who are about to embark on a European tour in a few weeks.

The search continues for one more, either domestic or foreign artist.
