Below is our complete Cattle Decapitation news coverage, including columns and articles pertaining to the band. Some articles listed may be indirectly related, such as side projects of the band members, etc.

Cattle Decapitation has posted the following report online:
“We’re knee deep in the studio in Oakland, CA recording our new album right now (which is coincidentally directly accross the street from the club we’re playing at) and will be playing this show as we’re finishing up the mixing! Come check it out, we’ll play a bunch of new songs for your asses!
"As promised, we were able to put together a short clip of us hard at work in the studio! Check out DAY ONE of our studio report!” More...
Cattle Decapitation have posted the following message online last week:
“We enter Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, CA tomorrow to start working on our fourth Metal Blade full-length! We’ll be doing the drums with the mighty Zach Ohren (ALL SHALL PERISH, DECREPIT BIRTH) and then over to Sharkbite studios to record the rest and mix with our man Billy Anderson. This is going to be devastating, we promise. The new material is over the top. The lyrics as hateful as ‘Karma.Bloody.Karma’ but much more disgusting this time around.
"We’ll be announcing the name of the album, song titles and cover art when we have completed the recording! Details on that, studio reports and fly-on-the-wall footage in the studio coming soon!”
Alaska/San Diego based metal band, DOWNSPELL, are mixing and recording the final guest tracks on their 2nd release yet to be named. Guest's include Josh & Troy from, Ed from DISGORGE and the one and only Randy Blythe from LAMB OF GOD.
DOWNSPELL singer, Tyson Montrucchio, has also formed a new side project called THROATCLOSER. This project will be releasing their 1st album the same time as DOWNSPELL. THROATCLOSER features ex-members of In Perfect Agony, Menstrual Chunks and Evilado.
Fresh upon returning from a three week tour in support of the release of the band’s new album, "Wounds," Los Angeles’ THE FUNERAL PYRE will again head out on the road in July with labelmates, and fellow Southern Californians, ANTAGONIST for a two and-a-half week tour across the Southwest and West Coast. THE FUNERAL PYRE will continue to support their May 27 release of "Wounds," while ANTAGONIST will be on tour in anticipation of the band’s Prosthetic Records debut, "Exist," due for a fall release.
THE FUNERAL PYRE’s frontman chimed in on the band’s upcoming tour plans and has also issued several updates from the road in June at the band’s online weblog. The previous updates can be seen here, while the newest update is available below:
"So, I didn't really manage to find time to write about what happened in the last few shows," the band says. "Just know that they were all really good, we had a fun time and then the tour ended. Yeah, I know, not a good wrap up. Oh well. But I'll wrap the rest of this up. We had a fun three week tour in support of our new record 'Wounds,' which came out on May 27. If you haven't checked it out, please do. We'll be hitting the road here in a few weeks with our best friends in ANTAGONIST and we'll be teaming up with Sea Of Treachery. This will be another 2 1/2 week tour or so, so if you didn't manage to catch us on the last run, come out to these shows. We're pretty busy at the moment! Come check out the shows, have a good time. I'm sure we'll be on tour sometime in September as well."
In the meantime, THE FUNERAL PYRE will play two Southern California shows with Cattle Decapitation in the coming week and ANTAGONIST will be playing a hometown show this weekend before heading up north for a show later this month. Both bands’ music can be heard at the ANTAGONIST MySpace page and at THE FUNERAL PYRE’s MySpace page, including the new song "Black Earth," from "Wounds."

Vocalist Travis Ryan commented on the new material
"The guys have been writing like crazy, we're already 4 songs in! I've got lyrics to a couple and we'll be playing 'em at the upcoming shows! All I can say is this new stuff is completely insane. We have reached a new level of intensity that in my opinion completely annihilates anything we've ever done. That goes for the first 2 Cattle records as well! On July 8th 2007 I went to see the Summer Slaughter Festival at BBkings in New York City. Of the venues in my area that book metal bands, BBkings has been one of my favorites for its amazing sound and size. It is never too loud that I feel like I’m going deaf, but still loud enough that I feel the music and rock out. The venue definitely has great tech guys running the soundboards and lights. With this in mind, I knew that I would get proper enjoyment of the bands and not focus on how much I can't hear a certain instrument or the vocals. I entered without knowing what to expect because I am not a fan of most brutal death metal, but there were a few bands I recognized and wanted to see how they were live, namely, Necrophagist, Beneath the Massacre, and Cephalic Carnage. I really wish I could have seen Arsis, but they had troubles with their van on tour and couldn't make it out. More...
