A total of 30 metal, rock and punk writers at Sweden's Close–Up magazine have voted in the magazine's annual critics' album-of-the-year poll. The final results were as follows:

Turbonegro's New Album On Abacus Recordings

Abacus Recordings has announced that they will be responsible for the North American release of Turbonegro's sixth album, "Party Animals." Produced by Steve McDonald (The White Stripes), the album will hit streets on August 23rd. Licensed from Burning Heart Records, Abacus' U.S. version of the record will include a bonus DVD of behind-the-scenes footage.

Turbonegro to Release New Album

Norway`s Turbonegro will release their new album, Party Animals, throughout Europe on May 9. Party Animals is the follow-up to 2003`s Scandinavian Leather, and is produced by Steve McDonald, known for his work with The White Stripes, Beck, and Redd Cross.

"We`ve got 11 hits, all of them beautifully negative switchblade serenades," says guitarist Euroboy.

Bassist Happy Tom says, "It`s like the best bits of The Rolling Stones mixed with the best bits of Black Flag, but composed by Shostakovich, Stalin`s in-house composer."

Songs to appear on the album include "City of Satan," "Wasted Again," and "Blow Me (Like the Wind)."
