Last Known Status: Active
Formed in Poland in 1986, it was three years before the band's 'Necrolust' demo saw them attain the attention of the underground, and led to the band's now infamous 'Morbid Reich' cassette release via the Polish Carnage Records, a release which legend has it was one of the biggest selling Death Metal demos/cassettes ever. The band signed to Earache in 1992 and in July of that year Vader recorded their one and only Earache album 'The Ultimate Incantation' with producer Paul Johnson.
Subsequently the band toured Europe with Bolt Thrower and Grave, and also hit the US with Deicide and Suffocation, but then left Earache to puruse a career on many and varied labels, gaining a gretaer reputation with each release for a more intellectual lyrical stance as well as sound based heavily around drummer Doc's amazing blastbeat control. As the band continued churning out album after album, they moved towards their own unique style of death-thrash metal fusion with the landmark releases of 'Litany' and 'Revalations'.

Vader bassist Tomasz "Reyash" Rejek announced last month that he was leaving the band. Vader has now issued the following statement about the split and about recruiting a new drummer:
"Hail to all Vadermaniax!!! I decided to write this - a little bit untimely - news to correct Reyash's official stance on leaving the band on Blabbermouth. I decided to thank Reyash for over two-year's cooperation in January 2011 and it was solely my decision. The decision was made on his recent behaviour only and definitely not due to his 'personal reasons.'
"Reyash is a great mate but this isn't enough to be the part of Vader. What's funny is that my expectations are really not that high as it might seem from the personal changes in the band throughout the recent years. Vader is appreciated by you just because of us keeping the style, sincerity and quality regardless the so-called public opinion. Reyash knew that he was to play till the end of the season (promotion of 'Necropolis') and his staying in the band depended exclusively on his work during the past two years. I can't understand his trying to give a good account of himself in this situation, the more so because it is insincere. More...

Polish death metal veterans Vader have posted the following update online;
"The band is about to prepare for recording of the newest studio album 'Welcome To The Morbid Reich.' For a long time I've been thinking about new tracks and the album concept; more and more things start to be clear. For the most part I'd like Spider (Marek Pajak - guitars) to take part in the process of album creation. I also have in mind relating to the good old times with a new layout for the album. I met with Zbyszek Bielak, a very talented artist, who will design the new layout, merchandise and scenic elements. Zbyszek has already worked with such bands as Watain, Absu, Behemoth... The new album will mainly focus on the Morbid Reich feeling combined with brutal riffs and tempo of the previous albums. We also have a surprise for our devoted fans, we're going to come back to our old logo."
"Draft titles of a few tracks: 'Lords of Thorns,' 'I Am Who Feast Upon Your Souls,' 'Only Hell Knows,' 'Return to the Morbid Reich,' and 'I Had A Dream.' We will have a chance to listen to 1 or 2 tracks on Vader concerts and summer festivals, as Peter announced. This year's Blitzkrieg will start a bit later, probably in October and Vader will play a completely new set!"
Recording will take place in Hertz Studio in Bialystok, Poland from March 15th to April 10th, 2011 with mixing and mastering set to take place in May, 2011.
Vader has checked in with the following update about the band's upcoming activities, including word that they're working on a new album:
"Forgive us this unusually longer delay. All this, because our intensive playing on distant continents. Last two months we have spent on tour in USA/Canada with Immolation/Abigail Williams, in Brazil with Norwegian Ragnaroak and in Mexico. We were performing a nice mix of Vader's classics and - first time in history -our second album 'De Profundis' as a whole. It is 15 years since this record came out. Your response for this idea was more then great so we decided to repeat this in the future with other Vader titles too.
"The silence in media in last weeks is 'a silence before the storm.' We're finishing slowly promotion of last album to start work upon the successor of 'Necropolis.' Some Music, Words also Designs are already initiated... I will inform You about the progress in proper time and give a little inside information of 'secrets of the returning Morbid Reich.' We start recording in Hertz Studion in March 2011. Till then we'll show yet in Switzerland (Sylvester Festival) and some places in Europe. More details soon...
