In March / April of 2006 Parkway Drive embarked on a 30 date national all ages tour, aptly titled the All Ages Assault Tour, passing through regional cities and towns which seldom get touring bands.
February 2008 will see them return with the same approach on the Surf Rat Tour, again all shows will be all ages. The tour will be rippin’ through the likes of Cooma, Wangaratta, Wagga Wagga, Sutherland, Coffs Harbour, Townsville and many more as well as an appearance at the MS Fest in Tasmania. Getting barrelled with Parkway Drive will be fellow Byron Bay grommets 50 Lions. Tour details below, tickets go on sale November 21.
Currently touring through Europe and the UK as part of the Never Say Die Tour, Parkway Drive will finish the year with a US West Coast Tour, where they will be joined by xDeathstarx. Those tour dates are as follows: More...
Long Island's THIS IS HELL has entered the studio to begin recording its sophomore release. The as-yet-untitled album is well in progress, with the drums already recorded at Killingsworth Studio in Long Island, NY with Tomas Costanza (DIFFUSER, BEDLIGHT FOR BLUE EYES). The band is currently at Full Force Studios in Port Jefferson to record the rest with the acclaimed producer Joe Cincotta (OBITUARY, SUFFOCATION, ANIMOSITY).
While 2006's critically acclaimed "Sundowning" will be a hard act to follow, the band plans to continue its reign of hardcore force and eloquence with the new record, which has been almost two years in the making. Vocalist Travis Reilly says, "[The new album contains] 13 songs and clocks in around 38 minutes... A bit longer than our previous record, the songs are a little longer while also being catchier and heavier, but not in that shitty pop punk mosh kind of way. The drums are finished and we start working on everything else starting tomorrow. The recording process so far has been sweet and we are very satisfied with the songs and can't wait to finish."
As soon as they finish up recording, THIS IS HELL will be heading to Europe with good friends COMEBACK KID and THE CANCER BATS, both of whom they have toured with several times before.
THIS IS HELL's new album is scheduled for release on February 19, 2008. The lyrical content of the new record has been described so far as ranging from "addressing a strong internal conflict (including the choice between overcoming obstacles and self-destruction)" to "attempting to build a life despite constant setbacks and circumstances beyond our control."
This Is Hell has confirmed plans to put out two 7" releases this winter. The group will release an EP titled "Cripplers" through Trustkill Records on November 20th. The effort will feature six-songs: a new track, three covers, and two previously-unreleased songs. Meanwhile, the band will also put out a split 7" with Cancer Bats via Future Tense Records. The untitled split will consist of a new song from each band, in addition to a cover of each group by the other.
Trustkill Records has posted 3 full SOLDIERS tracks from their debut album "End Of Days." You can listen to "Even Worse", "Decide And Conquer" and "Own Up!" via the e-card here.
Featuring current members of THIS IS HELL, these Long Island hardcore bruisers will release their debut album "End Of Days" on October 2, 2007. Check the song "Damage Is Done" on the Trustkill boombox, and "Relentless" on the Soldiers Myspace.
Trustkill Records has signed Long Island hardcore band SOLDIERS, featuring current members of THIS IS HELL.
Speaking on the recent signing, singer Rick Jiminez said, "We're really psyched to be part of the roster and involved with people we trust and like... which is a hard feat when record labels are concerned." Adding to that, label Pres Josh Grabelle said, "I've known Rick and Dan for a while now and when I heard the new songs I was blown away, it really took me back to the feelings I had when I first got into hardcore and started going to shows. This shit is real."
SOLDIERS will be on tour in August with Dead Hearts and Daggermouth. Here are the latest tour dates: More...
Self proclaimed "death rap" artist Necro has issued the follwing statement from his official Myspace:
"I decided to leave the tour collectively with my manager and booking agent (both tour organizers) because we felt the tour’s demographic was not receiving hip hop well. I was facing hostile, disrespectful crowds and was returning the same energy back ten-fold by being more aggressive than them.
It was making a lot of people in the tour crew nervous and there was concern someone might get hurt (NOT ME). It was also being suggested that maybe I tone down my live show and not antagonize the already antagonistic crowd. I couldn’t roll with that as it’s not my style. I was holding back enough as it is but there is a line. All the bands on the tour loved us and everyone behind the scenes knew we displayed major heart and never once got phased by the hostility. We finished every show with middle fingers up and a big "Fuck You" to the crowd.
I will make one thing clear for the haters: we NEVER got booed OFF the stage. Not once. Yes a ton of emo kids booed us at every show, but we had a twenty-five minute set every night and we stayed on stage for every minute of it, and we represented. Every show had at least 100 to 200 Necro fans in the pit tearing it up, and our meet and greets were incredible!
It’s just a shame these little kids are so close-minded. The majority of the hate was coming from mop top emo sixteen-year olds who have no clue who the originators of metal are, and didn’t respect my rest in peace chant to metal legends (Dime, Cliff, Chuck, Piggy, SOB).
As far as the tour organizers and I are concerned, you are my people so it’s all love and I’m thankful for the opportunity to prove I can murder it in the worst of situations. This actually did a lot for me and is just one move in many my team will make to blow Necro up"

Three other bands will rotate in the headlining position prior to GWAR: a block-buster artist yet to be announced, face-shredding metal pugilists Chimaira, and experimental noisemakers Every Time I Die.
The day will be completed with a bill including Necro, Darkest Hour, Amon Amarth, The Acacia Strain, The Devil Wears Prada, HeavyHeavyLowLow, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Goatwhore, This Is Hell, and 2 Cents. Expect additional special guest headliners to join the bill on select dates.

Poison The Well has announced a string of headlining dates to prepare for the release of their new full-length Versions. Joining them on this run is Long Island, NY's This Is Hell and experimental noise-core unit, The End. This is Poison The Well's first tour since last summer's STRHESS TOUR with Shadows Fall and first since recording their upcoming album for Ferret Music, Versions to be released this April. Speaking on the forthcoming trek drummer, Chris Hornbrook says "We're excited to hit the road and get a chance to shake our rust off and debut our new material to fans. We chose the opening bands based on their diversity of sound with ours and think kids will get a full package to enjoy." Joining members Hornbrook, Ryan Primack (guitar) and Jeffrey Moreira (vocals) will be their touring line-up of Mike MacIvor (formerly of Candiria) and Brad Clifford (of Since By Man).
Versions is the band's first release since 2003's You Come Before You on Atlantic Records, which sold over 130,000 copies in the U.S. Heading from their tropical home in Ft Lauderdale/Miami FL to Umea Sweden, the band recorded with the production team of Pelle Henricsson and Eskil Lovstro who recorded You Come Before You as well as classic albums by The Refused, Breach and others. Primack describes it as having many more colors and nuances than previous work. "The songs are pretty open ended and there's a lot of unique instrumentation in the background throughout such as Mandolins, slide guitar, horns and banjo." Primack who plays all of the unexpected instruments on the disc adds "this is not out of the blue, we actually started to add these elements to the last album but we didn't have time to flesh them out like with Versions. It's going to be a really different sounding album in hardcore, well as different as you can be in hardcore nowadays."
