Cory Scheider, former rhythm guitarist of the Wisconsin female fronted metal band Luna Mortis, has issued the following update regarding his current projects after the Luna Mortis disbanded:
"Hey, this is Cory. I just want to keep all the Luna Mortis fans posted on what other projects are happening. I'll just let you into what I am doing at the moment."
"My main focus is working with Epicurean handling rhythm guitar duties. If you are interested in checking out this band go to their myspace page for updates!"
"Also, I am working on a side project called Darkness Divine. We will have a few demo songs out this summer."
"And last, check out my personal myspace page to stay updated on what I am doing."
Mary Zimmer, vocalist of the Wisconsin metal band Luna Mortis, has issued the following pre-tour update:
"We are so excited to be getting ready for our North American tour with Edguy and Epicurean! Getting things off to a good start, so far, and we've got a couple of lineup changes to announce for the tour. First of all, our bass player, Jake Bare, wasn't able to hit the road with us this time, so we are very happy to have producer Don DeBiase filling in on bass guitar for the entire tour. He's an incredible musician and performer and has produced music for us as well as bands like Beneath the Sky (Victory) and Forever In Terror (Metalblade). He's a good friend of ours and we hope you will all enjoy watching him on stage with us this September." More...
Warbringer will have to miss four tour dates in May, as Epicurean drummer John Gensmer is unable to play those dates with them. Here's the update from the band:
"...we've unfortunately had to pull off the last four shows of our current tour (Nashville, Beaumont, Lubbock, Amarillo) due to Epicurean drummer John Gensmer only being able to play with us through May 21. We want to thank Gensmer for all his assistance playing with us during the Kreator and Exodus dates, while Nic continues to heal. This will not affect our June dates as they will go on as planned."
Warbringer's John Laux has posted the following update from the Kreator and Exodus tour:
"First off i want to thank everyone who has and plans on coming out to our gigs on this tour. The clubs have been packed and the response has been amazing!
"I wanted to let you guys know that Nic Ritter wont be returning to the drum throne until our Headline dates on the west cost this June. The Doctors in LA told us his bone has healed but the tendons in his arm need special attention. We decided to leave him in LA so he could get some proper rest and recive physical therapy on a regular basis. Weve been informed he should make a complete recovery within the next 3 weeks.
"Special thanks and mention to John Gensmur from Epicurean for stepping into the ring for us on this Tour. He has been giving us, his kit, and the crowd his hell everynight so we can in turn rage and put on a hell of show for you guys! Accidents happen, but this tour woudln't have been possible with out his help.
"Our CD release date is just 2 weeks away and we are very excited. If any of you guys are definatly planning on buying our record, making an order by presale or purchasing it within the first week of release would be a huge favor to our camp. We are very grateful for your support! See you guys around the chopping block."

Young thrash metal group Warbringer has launched their touring campaign in support of their forthcoming new album, "Waking Into Nightmares" but the band have already hit bad news with the announcement that drummer Nic Ritter will be forced to miss out on the tour after breaking his elbow at a recent show after slipping on ice. A message from the band reads:
"Unfortunately this is not an April's Fools joke. Nic fell down the other night loading out of the club and hurt his elbow. We hoped with some ice and rest it would be okay. This morning we found out it was broken. Regardless, the shows must go on and we rehearsed as a 4-piece with Adam playing drums. This will be the format for the next handful of shows until we hook up with Epicurean, as John Gensmer has agreed to play both sets. We toured together on Overkill and he is a beast. Nic will be out of commission for at least 3 weeks, but will be staying on the road with the band."
LA's WARBRINGER has completed work on their sophomore effort, entitled "Waking Into Nightmares," with producer Gary Holt (Exodus) with mixing duties being handled by Zack Ohren (Suffocation, All Shall Perish). The artwork for "Waking Into Nightmares," was created by Dan Seagrave (Morbid Angel, Entombed).
Warbringer has also announced an exclusive pre-order package that will be available with the band on the road: anyone who preorders "Waking Into Nightmares" from their merch table will be handed a strictly limited edition, hand-numbered 2-song single with exclusive advance mixes of the songs "Severed Reality" and "Prey for Death" from the new album. "Waking Into Nightmares" will be released on May 19 via Century Media Records. More...

Chicago death/doom metallers, Novembers Doom, have issued the following statement regarding dropping off the January tour with Rotting Christ and Epicurean:
"It is with much regret that we must announce our departure from the Rotting Christ tour in January, 2009. A serious medical issue arose with a member of the band, making us unable to tour during that time. While this unfortunately prevents us from participating in the tour, thankfully it has come to light now rather than at the last minute, leaving 3 months time for the promoter to find a suitable replacement for us. We wish the very best for Rotting Christ, and Epicurean, and hope their tour has great success!" More...
EPICUREAN has uploaded the first in a series of videos featuring their very own, John Gensmer. In the first video, Gensmer drums the track “Behind the Chapel Walls” from their Metal Blade debut "A Consequence of Design."
The "Fresh Meat Tour," featuring The Absence, Epicurean, The Destro, and Rose Funeral has officially been cancelled. The Absence has released the following statement:
"First, let us say that we absolutely hate to cancel tours and shows. We love our fans and try so hard to make it to everyone that wants to see us. Alright, so here's the deal everyone... Yes, we have once again had to cancel a tour. BUT, We are quite sick of candy coating everything and making it seem like it's really our fault. First, Rose Funeral had to drop off due to some personal reasons, we wish them the best. As well as, Epicurean having to drop off. After all said and done, The Absence and The Destro decided it wouldn't be worth the 7-8 sometimes 10-12 hour drives between shows for very small amounts of money. These small amounts of money would not even cover gas to get to the next show. Everyone knows how high gas prices are at this time so we need not go into that any further.
"This month-long tour was eventually turned into a 13 day tour after shows and venues were cancelling left and right due to the fact that some booking agents can't do their jobs correctly and end up dealing with 15 year old promoters who are not yet experienced enough with putting on shows that include 4 national acts and have the show be a success. It just doesnt happen. No, we are not 'rockstars.' But we do expect our guaranteed amount of money and decent meals every show. We sometimes drive all night and play shows exhausted as hell to make sure all of our fans are happy. And when our fans are happy we know we've done our job and have no room to complain. But when we can't even afford to get to the first show and probably cant afford to make it home, there's a problem.
"We just can't stay quiet and say we had to drop off for reasons that aren't true. It's all the 'behind the scenes' politics that fans don't realize happen or see. Booking agents dropped the ball. Not the bands. Bottom line. We hope you all understand and still support us and the other bands that were supposed to be apart of this tour as well.
"So, we're sorry to all of you that wont be able to see us this time around but we promise you we'll be back around in the end of 2008 with a full US/Canadian tour."

Minneapolis, Minnesota's Epicurean is set to release their Metal Blade Records debut titled A Consequence of Design on March 4th 2008. The band will be touring up to and through the release of A Consequence of Design with dates already scheduled in the Midwest and Canada. Epicurean utilizes a feverish twin guitar attack, viciously heavy vocals mixed with clean melodic vocals, a brutal rhythm section, and keyboards to create their brand of unique symphonic, yet aggressive music.
Minneapolis-based symphonic metal band EPICUREAN will film a video for the song "The Departure" with director DJ Cosgrove in Columbus, Ohio. "We're all pretty excited!" says the group.
Formed in early 2004, EPICUREAN quickly gained the attention in the Minneapolis metal scene and developed a reputation for being a powerful and unpredictable live act.
In July 2006, EPICUREAN released its debut CD, "A Consequence of Design", and in February 2007, Metal Blade Records approached EPICUREAN with an offer that they promptly accepted.
