Just a week after announcing their upcoming US tour, the Deftones have expanded the itinerary, adding two-nighters in Dallas, San Antonio, Cleveland and Washington, DC, as well as shows in Houston, Nashville, Detroit, the Los Angeles area and St. Louis, MO.
The alt-metal rockers, who are currently in the midst of an extensive European jaunt, will begin their US run May 11 in Mesa, AZ. Other double-shots on the schedule include Albuquerque, New Orleans, and Salt Lake City. Dates, which so far take the band through June, are listed below.
Japanese hard-rockers Dir En Grey and Seattle trio The Fall of Troy, which has a new album due May 1, will open the shows.
The Deftones are touring behind their fifth studio album, "Saturday Night Wrist," which was released last October. The second single from the set, "Mein," is streaming at the group's MySpace page.

Deftones will headline a nationwide US tour this summer after wrapping their international outing.
The Grammy-winning band will kick off domestic dates May 11 in Mesa, AZ, and so far have gigs booked through June, including two-nighters in Albuquerque, New Orleans and Salt Lake City. More shows will be announced soon, according to the group's website. Japanese hard-rockers Dir En Grey and Seattle trio The Fall of Troy, which has a new album due May 1, will open the shows.
Having already made their way through Mexico, South America, Japan and Australia this year, the Deftones are currently playing several countries in Europe. They had to postpone three UK performances this week because frontman Chino Moreno was suffering from an ear-and-throat infection, according to the group's website. Those dates have already been rescheduled for late April.
Last October, the Deftones issued their fifth studio album, "Saturday Night Wrist," which was produced by Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Jane's Addiction) and former Far guitarist Shaun Lopez. The second single from the record, "Mein," is streaming at the band's MySpace page.

When an event has been around for 13 years, it's usually time to shake things up. And while Ozzfest chose to do that by going free, the Vans Warped tour opted to piece together one of its most diverse rosters to date. While not a metal tour, it does feature a hand full of heavier metalcore and screamo bands, most notably Norma Jean, As I Lay Dying, Funeral For A Friend, Haste The Day, Parkway Drive, and Maylene and the Sons of Disaster.
The tour, which will kick off June 28 at Chula Vista, California's Coors Amphitheater, is currently slated to play 45 shows through an August 25 date in Los Angeles with a lineup that includes Coheed and Cambria, Bad Religion, New Found Glory, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Cute Is What We Aim For, Bayside and Canadian rapper K-os.
Among the other groups that will be on the road with Warped all summer are Amber Pacific, Circa Survive, Tiger Army, Escape the Fate, Hot Rod Circuit, Big D and the Kids Table, Paramore, Gallows, the Matches, the Fabulous Rudies, Meg and Dia, All Time Low, Bleed the Dream, the Unseen, Spill Canvas, Evaline, Bless the Fall, Boys Like Girls, My American Heart, Vincent Black Shadow, Throw the Fight and Pepper.
Tour founder Kevin Lyman said he had plenty of options to choose from when putting together the roster. "We received over 4,000 submissions, so in booking the tour this year I felt that a diverse lineup was in order," he said in a press release announcing the dates. "The tour has always been a place to explore and discover new music. This year's lineup has old school, emo, punk, screamo, hip-hop, more ska than you have seen in a long time and everything in between. If you're open-minded, this will be a great show."
Members of the online Warped community will get their annual shot at Internet presale tickets starting April 1, where they'll be offered a ticket and a copy of the Warped Tour double-disc compilation for $19.99.
Among the other acts scheduled to play select dates are: A Static Lullaby, the Actual, Agent Orange, Alesana, Alkaline Trio, the Almost, Anberlin, As Cities Burn, As I Lay Dying, the Automatic, Biffy Clyro, the Briefs, the Briggs, Buck O Nine, Cinematic Sunrise, the Confession, the Dear and Departed, Drop Dead Gorgeous, Envy on the Coast, the Fall of Troy, Family Force 5, Fishbone, Flogging Molly, the Fold, Funeral for a Friend, the Graduate, Haste the Day, Hawthorne Heights, Human Abstract, I Am Ghost, Madina Lake, Mayday Parade, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, New Year's Day, Norma Jean, Parkway Drive, Pennywise, Pistolita, Play Radio Play, POS, Poison the Well, Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Set Your Goals, So They Say, the Starting Line, Straylight Run, Supernova, the Toasters, Underoath, the Used, Valencia, The Vandals and Yellowcard.
More bands and dates are expected to be added in coming months.
Vans Warped Tour 2007 dates, according to the tour's spokesperson, are as follows: More...
The Fall of Troy will enter the studio this week with producer Matt Bayles (Minus the Bear, Botch, Isis) to record Manipulator, their third full-length and followup to 2005's Doppelgänger.
The band's label, Equal Vision, is planning a release towards the end of May 2007, which would mean either the 22nd or 29th.
A headlining tour in Jan. and Feb. with Portugal. The Man, labelmates Damiera, and Tera Melos was also recently announced.
With cancellations coming fast and furious, mewithoutYou has dropped off the Warped Tour. Like labelmates Underoath, the band is citing exhaustion, among other things:
"We will not be returning to Warped Tour. There are multiple reasons why... First and foremost being the bus... Our bus is currently in the shop getting some much needed TLC. No bus, no touring. Pretty simple math. Also, Aaron is still nursing his throat and will be back good as ever soon enough."
The pattern developing this year seems to be entirely around newer acts in their first or second runs on the tour. Previous cancellations came from Spitalfield, From First to Last, Gatsbys American Dream, He Is Legend and The Fall of Troy.
The Fall Of Troy have announced plans to take indefinite break. Frontman Thomas Serak comments:
"Without giving any of you details that you don't need... The last 2 days have been the hardest days for this band ever. People have done everything that we never wanted to do. We've been on the road now for a very very long time, and last night was the culmination of it all... We are VERY sorry for the actions we took, but we just couldn't control it. I walked off the stage because I felt embarrassed of it all, I didn't want to come back out, but I came back out for you guys? The kids! Cause I fucking care more about you guys than this fucking band. We love each and everyone of you, so please try to understand were going through some very difficult times but we ARE trying to make it through...
We will be finishing the dates with #12 than going on an indefinite break following. We are going to try to get new songs together and get our heads straight... We don't want this band to end, but we don't want it to continue on in the fashion it has been lately. We are EXTREMELY sorry to you guys in Indiana and Ohio. You kids were awesome and should've been given the insane show you deserved. And hopefully next time, we'll do so."
