A large portion of this year's line up consists of bands who will be releasing albums in 2017. The fact that so many bands in Canada are able to write and record quality material is a real testament to the thriving metal scene we have. The band submission process is a grueling gauntlet of awesomeness, but personally I love every second I dedicate to the brilliant artists of Canadian Metal!
"I am especially excited to have Revocation on this year's edition of Armstrong Metalfest. Their style is hella fitting for the festival and I know they will be well received! Also, their album 'Great Is Our Sin' is fantastic front to back. I'll be front row center screaming my heart out for sure! More...

Canadian thrash group Aggression will see cult debut 1987 album "The Full Treatment" re-issued with original artwork for the very first time through Xtreem Music. The label comments:
"Emerged in 1985 together with other legendary Canadian thrash metal acts like Sacrifice, Infernal Majesty, Razor, Armoros, Soothsayer, DBC, etc. Aggression made waves with three demos during '85/'86 and the inclusion of some of these songs in New Renaissance Rec. compilations like 'Thrash Metal Attack' and \Speed Metal Hell II,' until debut full-length 'The Full Treatment' was released on Banzai Records in '87.
"However, the band didn't last too long after that and their popularity couldn't reach higher levels, but this album remains as a true gem for any lover of intense yet catchy thrash metal in the vein of bands like Morbid Saint, Dark Angel, Armoros... who will definitely love this classic!!"
This new edition of "The Full Treatment" will drop October 1st in CD and vinyl. Check out a track below. More...

Canadian 80's thrashers Aggression have announced they will be hitting the road this summer for the USA "Demons of West Coast Tour" in support of latest album "Fractured Psyche Demons." The album was released during August 2015 via Galy Records.
Founding member Denis Sasquath Barthe comments: "As the Aggression accelerated journey to hell continues, I couldn't be more excited about our upcoming promotional tour of the USA West Coast hitting cities that have been filled with Aggression fans since day 1. Back in the 80's, we sold most of our demos in the L.A./San Fran market and it will be great to see some of these metal fans out there. Let's thrash the West Coast - old school style!"
In additional news, Aggression is proud to announce a new band member - bassist Martin Meyer (ex-Disciples of Power, Life Against Death) steps in to replace original bass player Yves "Dug" Duguay.
Barthe comments: "The band lives in Vancouver on the West coast. Dug lives in Montreal on the East coast so that was working against us to begin with. We did a tour through Ontario and Quebec with him last spring and I think it was just too much for him. He's been dealing with some health issues for a few years now. We all wish him the best." Entitled "Fractured Psyche Demons," the 11 track release will be coming out via Galy Records on August 18th. Founding guitarist Denis Sasquatch Barthe comments:

These four new recordings are set to be released with two other sets of unreleased demos (1985 Demo and the 1986 Demo 'Mutilator') that have been remastered by Mike Rogerson."
Aggression is also pleased to continue its partnership with 1987's "The Full Treatment" album artist Andre "Thrasher" Gibouleau, who came up with the cover art for the new offering "Fractured Psyche Demons." The full track listing is: More...

The Obscene Extreme America mosh pit just keeps getting bigger and bigger. The festival takes place in Montreal, QC from August 20th - 23rd, with the organizers issuing this statement about new confirmations:
"Fatal Flaw - Don’t get fooled by the band name! The only weakness these Montreal crustcore lunatics have is not being able to control the anger & ferocity that goes through their music. Raging crust punk is what you’ll get at OEF America and the only flaw possible is the lack of people in the mosh pit. Don’t make this happen, get your ass in the pit or you will feel the wrath of Fatal Flaw!
"The Drip - They're pissed off & ready to unleash the most barbaric grindcore the east-coast have ever witnessed. Washington State's The Drip deliver merciless fast-paced grind in a non stop onslaught of aggression & intensity. Get ready for a presentation of gruesome poetics while this modern grindcore band spread chaos through their blasting & unhealthy tunes.
"Noisem - Baltimore's Noisem will blast their vicious tunes in such a destructive velocity, it will feel like someone's shredding your fucking face with a cheesegrater. Formerly known as Necropsy, this young band's playing abrasive death metal at a lightning speed, destroying everything in its path. Be apart of the bestial birth of Noisem at OEF!!!
"Homewrecker - Things are going to get ugly at OEF America as Ohio's Homewrecker are back in Montreal with their grinding hardcore harmonies. They will show no mercy as they pummel your face with heavy as hell guitar riffs, punishing vocals & blistering fast drums!"
