Bolt Thrower has released this bit of news regarding their first trip to the USA in 14 years:
"Due to the fact that we are not real festival lovers or great fans of flying, the chances of us ever coming to the States for a one-off show was always very small. But after years of relentless emails from Ryan we've finally given in. It's hard to believe that it's been 14 years since we last played in the US, so we are very happy to announce that we are finally coming back. Bolt Thrower will be playing Maryland Deathfest VII, on May 22-24, 2009, at Sonar, Baltimore, MD."
A few more bands were exected to be included in this announcement, but the organizers are still working on the details. Therefore, another announcement is expected with even more band confirmations in the near future, as they wrap up the booking process for Maryland Deathfest 2009

Trap Them is readying their new album, "Seizures In Barren Praise," for a November 11 release. Vinyl will follow shortly thereafter.
Once again engineered by Kurt Ballou at Godcity Studios, "Seizures In Barren Praise" shows Trap Them at their most vicious.
"Barren Praise" is a fictional ghost town version of every non-fiction town" says McKenney. "Lyrically, previous Trap Them releases are all stories from people who had lived in "Barren Praise" before deciding to up and leave. This is the story of those who stayed behind to tell the stories of watching everything unfold..." states McKenney.

Trap Them And Kill Them has issued a band update:
"First off, We'd like to announce the latest additions to the line-up: John Heidenrich (Abhorred, Noosebomb, Grief) recently joined as a full time drummer. His d-beat & blast beat skills bring tears to our eyes...it's just....brutal. Nat Coghlan (Transistor Transistor, some totally evil one man kvlt black metal project with no name) joined up a few months ago to fill bass duties and let Brian use his Marshall JMP. Thanks Nat, Euronymous would be proud.
These fine dudes join founding members Brian V. Izzi (guitars) & Ryan J. McKenney (vocals) in the persuit of revenge... We would also like to give a special THANK YOU to Scott DeFusco (Extinction Agenda) for his outstanding session drumming and incredible help during the recording of 'Sleepwell Deconstructor' CD. The 7 inch is supposed to be shipping very shortly. Trash Art will have an exclusive t-shirt/7 inch package for sale soon. Go to myspace.com/trashart and harass Mitch. Do it.
We will be playing shows regularly, so check back here for the information. This, of course, means that if you want us to play your sweet ass show, get in touch. We'll distort the fuck out of your town."

Boston's legendary doom kings GRIEF will reunite for an appearance at the first annual NEW ENGLAND GRIND AND DOOM FEST on July 17 at Emerald Hall in Braintree, Massachusetts. No further information is available at this time.
Forming out of the band DISRUPT in the early nineties, GRIEF's objective from the outset was to make the slowest, most mournful doom metal out there, according to RoadBurn.com. The band definitely managed to do so on albums such as 1994's "Come to Grief" and 1998's "Torso", which are now classics in the genre.
